- It seemed a pity to me that most of the people who subscribed to this channel did not get to see this animation, so I reuploaded it on this channel so that it reaches the Anglo-Saxon public. The original description of the video in Spanish translated:
X30 is the name of the storyboard of the cinematic planned for the end of mission A10 (The Pillar of Autumn). And that due to the zero time that Bungie had left to develop the cinematics, it would be very simplified / cut.
This animated version is the complete original version, respecting the storyboard 1 to 1.

This really shows how massive the Ring and POA is. The shots are frigging epic!!! Love the animation! And nice use of the Cortana poa line in the drop pod.
Now imagine just how mind-bendingly fast that Longsword was if the Chief and Cortana can get so much distance in such little time at the end to survive the destruction of Alpha Halo.
Yeah, this cruiser, it dwarfs the smaller navy vessels like the frigate lol.

It's a bit rough around the edges, but I love the extra detail put into the cutscene.
2:52 brilliant sequence with the sense of scale and motion, the lighting and the music transition !
And then seeing the even greater scale of the ring as a backdrop against the autumn burning through the atmosphere *chef's kiss*
litrally looks like a shot from Interstellar minus video quality
Nice! All that's missing is the plasma shots hitting the ship at the end.
The best part of this animation, is that it corrects the scaling issue from the game, to make the ship as big as it's supposed to be.
I love how you perfectly encapsulated the storyboard. Amazing work

One thing I have always wanted to see in a remake of this cutscene: the covenant ship! We only see the lasers in the original, but it would be awesome to see it here chasing the autumn!

@@ulrikfalkpetersen I tried within the possibilities that this country gives me (I'm from Argentina) but with the economic crisis/closure it is impossible to access international recovery companies.
This is not going to defeat me, life and this country made it very difficult for me but I am determined to get up, as soon as I can, I am going to come back, this is not going to be the last you see of me 💪

It's so cool to see these cutscenes flesh out parts that weren't shown as much in the games! They look good and lore accurate
I love the sound mixing at 2:01 & how you can still hear Brothers In Arms underneath the HALO Theme. It makes me think that Chief & the marines inside the Bumblebee are actually listening to Brothers In Arms which means that Marty's god-tier music is in-universe canon as far as I'm concerned. 😆

the music fits very well, i was attached to when the Autumn was going down in flames and the song was a bit of a sad note, as if home may have been lost forever, but i have to focus on surviving right now, or on a new mission
love the little bit of chief having to getting the marine to sit down all "sir please just take ur seat"

This was an amazing use lighting. I like how you changed the time between lines & had chief using the magnum like he did in Fireteam Raven.
Looks pretty cool! I love how you gave the Halo and the Pillar of Autumn an actual sense of scale like you could actually tell how massive they are. My only complaint with this cutscene is the lighting, I can barely see what's going on in some parts but everything else is well done.
i love how this reveals how big is the ring and the autmn when you do those wide shots, looks really cinematic and cool
i'd say use a higher res ring world model when it's close to landing

This is awesome! The cutscene now seems so much more in-line with the other Halo games. This edit gives so much more scale to everything: the battles, the Pillar of Autumn, the ring--even the marines got better characterization. Everything now seems so much larger than life. And somehow, it was done without greatly altering the original graphics.
I'd take remastered cutscene cinematography like this over remastered graphics any day. It just feels more like Halo than Halo CE somehow.
Bet that this is gonna blow up soon. Also, nice work out there boss.

I really liked the part where the giant shadows crossed over the escape pod windscreen and then we see the light of space showing over Chief and the pilot.

Contrast is a bit rough in places so it's hard to see what's going on, and the storyboard is kinda long and drawn out compared to the final cut. It looks like they reused a lot of the ideas here to better effect in the later Halos - some of they guys at Bungie were true masters in composition and cinematography and it really shows.
But great work on your part making it into a very compelling rendition, muy bien!
It's beautiful. Its perfect. Esthetically looks exactly like Halo CE, with less of the dated jankiness. This shows just about everything I loved about Halo:
The small changes and details here absolutely win me over: Changing Chief from tossing the Marine into the Pod to gently carrying him. The way you emphasized the moment of chief securing the scared Marine in his seat. Chief was animated excellently: He is calm, smooth, and controlled, without looking totally robotic and empty... He moves like a genetically modified super soldier, cool and collected despite the ensuing chaos around him.
God, I'm a huge nerd for it, but I LOVED Halo... I love Halo... I miss Halo. As it was... Is, historically... And I hold on to the hope that it will one day return to its former glory.
God, give Halo back to the fans... Let people who know and LOVE the origins of the franchise handle its production. Because this video shows, they CLEARLY get it...

What I'd give to upscale the polygons of each model by a bit and reinforce the lighting with ray tracing, or real time lighting. Imagine how much creepier levels like "343 guilty spark", "the library(sorry)", and "the maw" would be. Also how beautiful the outdoor environments would look on levels like "Assault On The Control Room", or perhaps "Silent Cartographer". In addition with fog so then the lighting would be effected by it. It could change the look of the game by a great scale but if used correctly, with respect on the original intentions of the level's art direction and narrative, I feel it as if it would work wonders with the game. Plus you may not even need to mess with the models, but may only need to upscale them. I prefer the old graphics anyways.
Also it would make the player use the flashlight more often in darker levels!
And sorry for the little rant, I just like lighting in 3D spaces. Lighting can be a game changer(Literally) sometimes.
And of course you don't need to have ray tracing, but a better lighting engine, or techniques would be awesome.
And these are just thoughts I like to talk about. I'm no game developer yet.

Amazing but I do have 2 comments.
first, you show the Autumn passing the escape pod twice which is kinda strange. second both the Autumn and the escape pod are more likely to make like the shuttle and bellyflop to bleed off as much velocity as possible as seen in the in game cutscene.

POV: The Pillar of Autumn is a realistic size for The Maw.
Wow. The sense of scale is the best part. I think the OG game didn't let us appreciate just how large a lot of these structure really are. That little detail of the pilot dodging the debris of the other Bumblebees that didn't make it was perfect.
