It turned out amazing, I loved the finish. Btw, to avoid drilling on the pickups you can file the tread of the screws just below the head, that way you can surface mount them or in the future put them on any other guitar
This video was cool. It had it all. It's ups and downs. Uh oh moments. The suspense was intense. It's a must see for anyone into Fire explosions, power tools, and guitars.
bravo with this build, I am a huge fan of off-set guitar bodies! I think the word amateur is another word for "lover", as we are lovers of a craft and we are willing to make mistakes and try new things without judgment or rules.
Nice. I’ve been watching a lot of how to clips. I’ve never built a guitar but I’m getting ready to. I also have some unique shapes I think people might like. 👍👍

Subscribed, mon ami! Good job on this gorgeous guitar! Très excellent! I love the wood pores showing through the finish. And it’s a good choice for the color on the pick guard! Bien fait!
The guitar looks awesome and I'm really impressed by the Pickguard and back plate in particular. Really interested in picking up a sterling one, of course in the event that I don't win this. Fingers crossed!
I've always thought the Mariposa was a really cool and unique guitar but always wished there was a hardtail version of the instrument, I also gravitate towards alder wood, both as a guitar player and a hobby luthier: thank you for building and demoing the version of the Mariposa I wish was available to purchase. Also, thank you for your video, I always appreciate DIYers showing and explaining their creative process: it's very inspiring and educational!
@@FrenchGuitarGuy I would greatly appreciate that, thank you so much! BTW, please don't worry about rushing the plans to me, do it at your convenience. I currently don't have any cool instrument plans to share: have only built a couple telecasters, a Les Paul and a jazzmaster based off of publicly available guitar plans.
Hello! I uploaded the plan on my website: archimbaudguitars.com/index.php/produit/mariposa-pdf-plan/ This is totally free or you can let few coins if you to support me ;) Thanks!
Nice job. I’m a Les Paul fanatic, but I love the shape of that one! I’d build one of those if I had the right tools and put a Flying V headstock on it and a chromed scratch plate, with binding around the body, neck and head. 👍🏻😊
Yeah, Mariposa shape is one of my favs! You done so amazing! I've been subscribed you since I saw your videos about Toronado, but I didn't turn on notifications, so I didn't know you had posted a new video until yesterday, sorry. lol I like watching guitar making videos, especially the ones done by non-professionals, because there are unexpected failures and the joy of success that I can watch and experience. (like 4:03-5:10 "Yes!!" smile and the trouble. btw, I'm glad it didn't turn out to be a disaster.) anyway, I watched the offset tele video and some other new ones. Keep up the good work (and stay safe), rooting for you!
Thanks for those kinds words buddy and thanks for watching! Yeah, the fire scared me in hindsight about what it might have caused, but fortunately everything's fine ahah See you you on the next vid!
I'm another amateur luthier. Well, I've been trying to be in a damp basement for years, buying tools when I have money and trying to restore a couple of old guitars I have, before I start making one from 0. I'm light years away from your level still... Your guitar sounds good. It reminds me of a typical Gibson Explorer but that shape is different. I am a lover of floating bridges and the metal sounds of the 80s. Still, I think any guitar is pretty. If you find someone who really needs a guitar and can't afford it, it would be great if they got it. I think back to when I was a kid and didn't have enough money for my first guitar... But if you don't find anyone, I'd be happy to add that preciousness to my little collection. Best regards!
Excellent work, people don’t realise the time and effort that goes into building your own with basic tools, all the hours of research, trial and error. I still have 2 of the ones I made, the first is still my favourite, it’s had p90, humbuckers, tele and lipsticks in, been drilled and filled so many times 😂 it’s now an esquire with humbucker and staying that way. How did the car bumper resin workout ?
Would absolutely love a copy of the template if you still had it. I'm not the greatest with Photoshop or Inkscape trying to make a decent Mariposa template.

Impressionnant le passage avec l'aspirateur 😱 Très bonne idée les inserts dans le corps pour la fixation des micros! Au final, satisfait de la finition du corps? En tout cas, je participe avec joie au concours, et merci pour cette initiative 😀

I like how you used tools that hobbyists would have. Growing tired of people building a guitar with a triple warehouse full of tools lol
Thanks man! Glad you appreciate 🙂
Totally agree!
Wow. Impressive. You could design and manufacture your own new electric guitar.
Great video👍I have already subscribed.
