  • Plastic parts that deteriorate, become brittle, and fail... thanks German Engineers! This one failed after I changed it out with a fresh track, rails, and cable. Just driving along and the window fell. Well, the cable got tweaked and so did the windup pullet, all because a tiny piece of plastic holding one end of the cable broke loose! Arg!

    Bless you dear brother Dave. Making that video has been not only a great help to this old missionary in Ireland, but a real source of encouragement and blessing to my elderly wife and I. It's amazing how a simple "God Bless", said from a sincere heart, at the end of your video, takes an already joyous heart and makes that joy complete at the mere mention of HIS name.
    My family have served The Lord on the mission field of Nigeria for decades, witnessing millions of lost, coming to know Jesus as their personal Saviour. We pray that God will use this TH-cam tool, to bring many souls into the Kingdom. Time is short Dave and we have a job to do. We also pray that you and your family will stay in good health, that this vile Covid-19 will never darken your doorstep and as HIS WORD SAYS; PSALM 91 v 10
    "There shall no evil befall thee,
    Neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling place.
    Thank you again.
    With ALL OUR LOVE AND GODS RICHEST BLESSINGS,
    FROM IRELAND

      You have done and are doing the Lord's work, my friend! I thank you for your powerful prayers, as we all could use more prayer in these trying times. (Taking the next few moments to pray for your and your family.) Years ago I decided that all of my videos, no matter the story or content, would always end with a short prayer asking for God's blessing for the viewer. For one, it is my profession of faith... I will not deny Him. And secondly, my hope is that it plants the seed and gives the secular folks watching a moment of pause. I show folks that I'm not perfect, but if they start to investigate what makes some people shine despite their imperfections. I pray that the Holy Spirit will lead them towards salvation and redemption.
      Thank you for your service to God for which you were called. Each of us use our God given talents in all manner of ways. It is such a blessing to bring souls to Christ and enjoy seeing them and their company for an eternity. Many blessings to you and your wife!

    My daughter just got a 2007 beetle and the passenger side window works, but only can be controlled by the driver. What would you suggest are the parts I need to get to repair that problem? Or is it likely a loose wire to the controller?

    • @HelicoolsHelipad
      @HelicoolsHelipad  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Check to see if there is a "lock out" switch on the driver's side. This is so that dogs or children that inadvertently press the window button, and prevents the window from working from the passenger side. Otherwise, it may be a bad window switch on the passenger side.

    • @HelicoolsHelipad

      Absolutly, you can. You will have to drill out the rivets and replace them with bolt, lock washer, and nut.

  • @KimberlyOurlian

    thankyou, mine is slipping but i did get the window all the way up. do you think it just needs to be tightened at the access holes?

    • @HelicoolsHelipad
      @HelicoolsHelipad  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Slipping? You mean slipping off of the clamps that pull the window down and push it back up? If yes, then yes... you will have to tighten those clamps at the access hole while the window is down a few inches (this lines up the access holes with the bolt you have to tighten). Best of luck and thanks for stopping by.

    My dad just bought one. His window wouldnt go all the way up so they sent it to a dealership. They put a new one in but its still a small spot at the front on the down slope that air is coming in. You can barley see it. How would we go about getting that fixed?

    • @HelicoolsHelipad
      @HelicoolsHelipad  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is hard to tell without a few photos, but perhaps the rubber gasket is not installed correctly? That would be my guess. It could also be that the clamp that holds the bottom of the window needs adjusting... that is common as well.

  • @RockwellAIM65

    Question: What if you have this problem happen:
    Reinstall goes ok.
    Passenger window works from the left side control, but not the right side control.
    Disassemble panel and replace right window switch.
    Passenger window STILL works from the left side control, but not the right side control.
    Reset window electrics with key holding it left and right to make them go down and up again.
    Got into car.
    Again, passenger window works from the left side control, but not the right side control.
    Checked electronics. I can hear a sound at the motor when exercising the NEW window switch on the passenger side.
    So I know power is getting there.
    Is the controller bad in the motor?

    I found your video for installing vw beetle power window regulator is one of the best. I am going to diy by myself for my wife's toy 2002 vw beetle that the passenger side widow close only halfway. I have ordered a set of window regulator from amazon with metal cables mounted in the metal bars. As I understood that the original metal bars were riveted (not bolted in as the new one), My question is: is that better to keep the old metal running bars and re-install the metal cables? If doing so, will it be easy to tight the cables back and hold on it? If I replace it with the new set, how can I drill out the rivets the easy way without damage the metal running bars and the panel. You didn't show on your video. Looking for your reply. Thank you.

    • @HelicoolsHelipad
      @HelicoolsHelipad  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Use a drill that is just big enough to drill the center out of the rivet. I think the instructions will even give you the size drill bit you need. Don't worry. They provide bolts to replace the rivets. It is not really that bad. Good on you for DIY!

      @@HelicoolsHelipad Hi Dave, I got the window regulator and tried to install and replace the broken one. After I removed the inside cover, I tried very hard to see if I could reach the clamps on both sides that hold the glass. Unfortunately, the window was only halfway close, no way I could reach or see the clamps. I did try to take the motor out and tried to pull the glass up by force but no luck. Can you tell me what is the best way to manually move the glass up ( not breaking it) untill I can see the sclamps to loose it. Thanks.

    • @HelicoolsHelipad
      @HelicoolsHelipad  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      With the motor out? Gently, but firmly pull the glass up the door channel. If this does not work, reinstall the motor, and control switch… run the window up, short bursts until the clamps are visible in the circular”windows” on the inside of the door.
