When the movie came out I was 14yrs old and watched it in the theater. There was a person dressed in that Scream costume sitting in the theater. When the character was getting beat up in the movie the crowd cheered which caused the person in the mask would turn around and look back towards the audience. It was fun at the time, but now looking back who knows why that person decided to dress up. This is one of my favorite scary movie for sure.
Both of the films of Wes Craven’s that revitalized the horror genre were low budget films. So was Halloween (1978). A lot of great horror films are. There’s something about low budget filming that works for horror films.

I had the honor of meeting Tatum's actress Rose McGowan months ago at a convention in New Orleans
she also told me a little detail about the white #10 football jersey themed crop-top Tatum wore before the party scene, Rose told me that Tatum played on the Woodsboro High School football team, earlier before Sidney got her first Ghostface attack when she was talking to Tatum about staying at her place for a week, Tatum said she's got practice, Rose told me that it was football practice
They couldn't say that Tatum was on the football team because even though schools were letting girls join football teams since the late 80's, TV shows, movies, and books couldn't show or say a female character played on the team cuz it was still considered taboo or socially non-traditional at the time
Living north of Santa Rosa, its really nostalgic to watch this as it reminds of the 90’s when seeing all the locations and items from up here, like beer from Mendocino Brewing Company, locations of Healdsburg and Santa Rosa.
One Of My Favorite Horror Movies Of All Time & This Movie Ranked At #13 In The 100 Scariest Movie Moments On Bravo, Keep It Up Minty & You Have A Great Weekend
Another great video, Ever thought about doing the guyver films? dark hero was more true to the original manga, but both films have a big cult following
Hey Minty, can you do a review on the 1995 Sci-Fi movie "Screamers" starring Peter Weller? It's such a good underrated movie. They made a few sequels to it that were alright.
Love the Scream movies! Can’t wait for the 2022 one coming out soon!
Wes Craven, was ingenious, he revolutionized horror multiple times, first with Elm Street, and Scream. Thank You Wes Craven for Decades of icon characters, rest well. Thanks to Kevin Williamson for taking the time to write a masterpiece. Craven owned the 80's and 90's.
First with (The last house on the left).
@@the_black_phone9001 Those who produced the remake, I give them the most respect out of all horror remakes, it was also flawless.
@@MasseurDavis wasn't flawless,but alot better then 3,
RIP Wes Craven!
[1939 - 2015]
When the movie came out I was 14yrs old and watched it in the theater. There was a person dressed in that Scream costume sitting in the theater. When the character was getting beat up in the movie the crowd cheered which caused the person in the mask would turn around and look back towards the audience. It was fun at the time, but now looking back who knows why that person decided to dress up. This is one of my favorite scary movie for sure.
One of the best 10 Things You Didn't Know... loved it! Thanks Minty!!
I had that mask when was a youngster long before this movie was released. Mine glowed in the dark😱🖖
Both of the films of Wes Craven’s that revitalized the horror genre were low budget films. So was Halloween (1978). A lot of great horror films are. There’s something about low budget filming that works for horror films.
Wes Craven made some of the greatest horror movies of all time. RIP.
Neve Campbell was chosen because of the scream she made in The Craft (the needle part)
Epic. The 90s had some true gems.
Mark. I suggest you do videos about Cyborg (1989). Mannaja (1977). Wizards (1977). Nemesis (1992). The Hills Have Eyes (1977). Strings (2004). Battlestar Galactica (1978). Xena: Warrior Princess (1995). Game of Thrones (2011). Legend of the Seeker (2008) and The A-Team (1982) (Which you could feature my spoof The Y-Team which you was BA Baracus).
Even knowing Drew Barrymore was in the film, I somehow managed to watch the entire thing without realizing I saw her in it. It wasn’t until the second viewing that I recognized her.
Love your horror movie lists Minty
What's your order best to worst? Mine 1,4,2,5,3👻🔪😉
It is a Scream!
Another fun fact: much of the exterior scenes were filmed in Healdsburg, CA. My hometown! I was in high school when it was being filmed.
Thank ya Mint for putting in my head the voice of the Cryptkeeper at 2:34 when im thinking "he wanted to be a screenwriter..and he became a Scream writer! Heeehehehehehahahahaaaaa!!" 😂😂
Still gotta see Scream 4 and 5.
Lol, that moment about Highlander 2 was great Minty.
Minty, thank you for using the proper terminology “Casting Director”. Genuinely appreciate it.
My 10yr watched S1 with me over Halloween (on network tv, so some things were toned down/cut), and he really liked it!
Its rumored that in the original script, officer Dewey was the killer, something we did watch in scary Movie!!!!
Wrong lol David was originally gonna play Billy Loomis, he chose Dewey instead. Billy Loomis was always the killer.
I just recently watched the first three after not having seen them in years. They're a lot of fun.
Scream is a classic after 25 years. You don't have to say his name, just show his face and you know. If only everybody in Hollywood knew what he did.
That was a great start.. With Ghost Face shooting himself to avoid watching Highlander 2.. Thank you for the laugh
Scream borrowed a lot of plot elements from Halloween, Prom Night, My Bloody Valentine, Terror Train, and When A Stranger Calls.
The 90's was the last golden age for film making where I remember how popular this movie was when there was video rental stores everywhere and merchandise popping everywhere for the movie where I even saw the fake pumping blood Ghostface masks at dollar stores.
Fun times not having annoying restrictions like we have now.
I agree with you. I hardly watch any of today’s films. It depends really. I’m all for 80’s/90’s cinema.
@@Ishitonyou666 The only movie I plan on buying this year is Ghostbusters Afterlife which shows how much Hollywood cares about my interest and money.🙄
@@night-x6793 same!
What up Minty!!
Love how this had info that others overlook. And now. I'll be right back.
Rose McGowen was so fine back then. I still need to see the new one.
Minty works hard!
Marco Beltrami's scores for the films are now available as a multi-disc box set from Varese Sarabande. Digital download available, too.
