So I make a point in this video to say that it feels like the main characters have no chemisty. It turns out I'm not crazy about that. They had so little chemisty they refused to kiss eachother (which they only did once in the film) it was actually faked with CGI. I think this is something more funny than an actual gripe with the film. But I think its worth pointing this out.

They actually had a kiss scene early in the movie.. I was telling my girlfriend bout the cgi kiss b4 watching it a 2nd time with her, then we seen they had a early kiss scene... but it wasn't the slow tongue kiss scene you see like in a wedding/sex scene
My wife and I both agree that he has more chemistry with his female friend than the love interest. Like they didn't mesh. At all. Like it was torture watching them pretend.
I think a lot of the problem comes from Jonah Hill being miscast in this role and also being the writer. There was literally zero chemistry between he and Lauren London. And, like you say, he just didn't know when to end a joke.
I agree. They don't even feel like a couple at all. Friends maybe? But those were not two people in love.
holy shit i was wondering how long they’d been together but this is how I found out they were getting married after 6 months…i think if they focused on the romance and shit it would’ve been a lot better of a movie but it wasn’t really funny more painfully awkward

i think i enjoyed this movie just because it’s a newer take on the standard rom-com but it’s definitely not my favorite movie. some parts got a laugh and i can tell there’s some really talented people behind the movie, i just hope they are able to use this as a stepping stone to build better content in the future
Thanks for saving me the trouble - got 40mins to watching this last night but found myself too tired to care so went to bed. Agree that the chemistry was flat and Jonah miscast - and Lord the jokes were laboured. His character was also a compulsive liar and i though the poor girl should RUN- wont be revisiting this movie

The movie was bad, not horrible,but bad. The only reason I kept watching was because of Eddie Murphy and Mike Epps.
Personally, I thought the premise of this movie looked really boring.

@@hikeilokei It's your serious criticism put with your well placed jokes that does it for me. Also you don't go over the top with annoying sound effects or jokes that'd be in really bad taste, like you know when to not take it too far. Also how do you say your name? Like HighKey LowKey?

I just told my mom this and l feel so dumb 😭. I guess I got that in my mind and it just stayed there for years. I did appreciate the early season of blackish. But I wish “being black” wasn’t the only thing he would make productions about. Not that he isn’t allowed to, or that it’s bad, but it shows a lack of variability in writing skill to me.
