I think this concept could work for a show if it focused on just the day of the heist and have each episode focus on a different character's POV of the events. Then have the finale be the aftermath of the heist and reveal everyone's fate.
Ooooooh yes I like this! That was one of the best parts of this show so it'd be good to focus on that

i had no idea netflix gave it to people in a random order. conceptually it's cool, but i definitely agree that it can cause some problems for viewers. i think i started with the green episode? but tbh it didn't make much of a difference to my overall opinion of the series. watched for giancarlo esposito, stayed because i love background noise, and finished it with a sense of "huh. that happened."
Yeah I think the because the episodes aren't watched in any particular order, it can make the set-up and pay off for a lot of things feel unsatisfying.
@@hikeilokei Unfortunately, Netflix doesn’t 100% randomize the orders. There’s only a few set of episodes that will get randomized. Typically, you’ll get Yellow/Green as your first two in either order, then the same with Blue/Orange/Violet, then people all end with Red, Pink, and White, in that order. Some screenshots do see people who have Orange as their first, with others claiming they got Red and Violet at the start.
So while some of it is completely random, you’re most likely going to get them in the previously listed order.

On the other hand it's again one of the biggest examples of how acting is completely dependent on writing and direction
Man, the fact I can't use Netflix with my screen reader really shows that I'm missing out on a lot of stuff. Like I haven't heard of this or the last thing you talked about at all. Thanks for letting me know this exists even if it's not that good lol.
I still think its "good' but it just has fundamental flaws. Give it a watch if you like shows like this.
@@hikeilokei If I could use Netflix I probably would at least give it a quick look. I can't use Netflix with the screen reader I use with my laptop do to my blindness. There's like too much stuff on the screen all at once, it's way too hard to get around for me.

Just a couple things that I think you got wrong in the video. Rodger set the fire that killed Ray’s wife to cover his botch job, so he is directly responsible for Ray’s wife’s death. And I’m pretty sure Rodger did know Hannah was Ray’s daughter and picked her for that reason.
Also Hannah didn’t want the triplets to kill Ray because of the robbery but he still ended up getting killed, so that’s a useless motivation.
Conceptually, the idea behind the show is really cool and can actually create some interesting combinations depending on the episode order you use. I especially like starting with the pink episode (6 monthes after the heist) and then immediately following it up with the violet episode (24 years before the heist) at the start to act as a set-up and then proceed to watch the rest of the series chronologically. The big issue I feel is that because the writing of the show is written around certain twists or revelations established in different episodes, it means that without watching episodes in a particular order, a lot of what's presented as a "surprise" feels kind of weak. The White episode (the heist itself) is a prime example...it's clear that this was made to be the finale of the whole show that wraps everything, but if you were to watch Red and Pink after it, those two episodes expect you to be surprised by certain "unanswered" questions that you already know the answers to.
I think a solid way of doing this concept is to make the episodes shorter or at least focus on a tighter timeframe. Or better yet, reduce the number of episodes needed...I think this show would work very well without the Green and especially the Orange episode. Hell, cut the entire secondary plotline with the FBI agent as it ultimately goes nowhere.

I've been making videos since this time last year. But I didn't post any of them until June cause I wanted them to come out over summer. But I have been doing this style content since around September 2022 and I've loved doing it ever since. Hopefully I can do this full time at some point!
For me the show was an 8/10 only because of RJs death

Yeah, its weird cause its kinda better if you turn your brain off a bit. But the show functions entirely based on the fact that the audience should be actively thinking about it.
