Fun Fact: The couple whose house is almost destroyed by Sky High were played by Tom Kenny (Spongebob) and Jill Talley (Karen), who are married IRL. I don't know why, but this has always been one of my favorite pieces of Sky High trivia.

Also its extra fucked up that one of the powers his dad had is apparently extreme longevity if not straight up inmortality. Imagine living your whole entire life, being a crusty old man in your deathbed with children and grandchildren and still waiting on your father's 3rd life sentence
That comment at the end of the movie about the villain girl having to undergo puberty a second time struck me through the soul when I was 9. I have been miserable since.
Women should never have to go through that many periods of childhood to teen years on repeat.

I remember loving this movie as a kid and having a major crush on the hamster (or is it a guinea pig?) girl because the only thing I was more obsessed with at the ripe age of six to ten than kidnapping and ransom stories was shapeshifting. Didn't hurt that I thought she was really pretty too.

@@ninjanibba4259 I’ll be a senior next year and I have some friends who are going to be freshmen. I’ve known them for a long time, but to me, they’re still children. There’s a big difference maturity-wise between being 14/15 and being 17/18. Not to mention, freshmen are still getting used to high school and seniors have already been there for a while. I’m not saying all freshman/senior relationships are bad, but for the most part it is a red flag for a senior to want to go out with a freshman.
If I had a nickel for every kids property that came out in 2005 that featured an angsty teenage boy with fire powers, I would have 2 nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice.

If I had a nickel for every movie featuring Mary Elizabeth Winstead as the love interest that featured actors who would eventually portray characters in either Marvel or DC, I would have two nickels. The two movies are Sky High and Scott Pilgrim, which has Mae Whitman in it and she plays Katara in TLA. Michael Cera is also in Arrested Development where Mae plays one of his ex girlfriends, Anne, who is very forgettable. In Scott Pilgrim, he completely forgets about their first encounter by the time he fights Roxy, Mae's character, and she is his girlfriend's ex instead in the movie. On top of that, there were multiple references to Arrested Development in the MCU. Mary Elizabeth Winstead plays Huntress in the DCEU. So I think that means Michael Cera is going to be in the MCU eventually. I'm pretty sure at least 😂😂😂😅

One thing I REALLY wish they had in this movie was the main character never getting powers, I think it could've been a cool message about being yourself or something lmfao

I felt like it was a common trope. I dont remember many examples right now, apart from Rio, which literally the same happends, that the character is weird for not flying (in those 2 movies at least), but they are able to in the climax

I think two of my biggest revelations watching this video was that A. There were other people who loved Sky High and B. THIS WASNT A DISNEY CHANNEL ORIGINAL ??
I almost had a heart attack when I was researching for this video and found out that it wasn’t a DCOM
I would like to see Warren's story. How did a hero and villain get together? If his dad gets out of prison, how will he react to his son being best friends with his enemy's son? How does Warren feel about his dad?
I feel like Warren’s parents would’ve been neither heroes or villains at first, but then, well, not long after having Warren, something happened to set them on their separate paths.
Sky high has a potential for a sequel imo.
I think a reboot. Its been 15 years so most of these actors are in their early 30s. I mean there are plots you could write about them being adults. But a lot of the movie's identity revolves around the fact that they're kids.

@@hikeilokei Could be 2 with him taking on being the next stronghold and the struggle he's faced with living in his father's shadow even after getting his powers. Maybe give him a preteen kid that's going thru his own identity crisis bec he's thinking about going dark bec of their shit parenting leaving him basically alone to grow up. Which allowed him to become closer to the villains of the world who basically raise him while his parents are too busy being heros.
Then maybe have the parents realize they've been shit parents and that that's their 1st Job even before heroing. Then learns to be better parents, get the kid therepy and the end!
The nurse has been my favorite character since the first time I watched the movie at, like, 7 years old. She kinda seems like the cool grandma that takes you to Disneyland every year. She also gives off very strong “elderly lesbian” vibes, idk maybe it’s the hair

This is one of those few movies that should've gained a sequel sooner. It's My Hero Academia in cinematic form, and we have a bunch of kids with stupid powers work together to save the school and adults from a genderswapped Daft Punk member and her group of Power Ranger villain rejects. May Kelly Preston rest in peace, and my pure surprise when Pleakley plays a mad scientist teacher in this movie and a character from the Nickelodeon underrated gem Catscratch.

My favorite movie to catch on Disney Channel was Halloween Town. Man, that movie with one of those jack-o-lantern pizzas from Papa Murphys was always the best time of year.

One of the funniest coincidences about this movie is the shocking amount of similarities it has to My Hero Acadamia. Think about it, there's a powerless at the beginning but gets super strong main character, a bully with fire powers, and a teacher with a sonic voice. It's obviously just coincidence, but it's still funny to think about.
Also I just think it'd be hilarious for Coach Boomer to end up at a teacher swap with UA. Like...c'mon, Bruce Campbell at UA is friggin' hilarious
i had a couple friends when i was younger that told me about this movie but because they had the explanation skills of seven year olds, (what with me and my friends being seven years old at the time), and the fact that this movie is an actual fever dream, i thought they were like…messing with me or something, so imagine my surprise when i get older and learn that its actually real and my second grade best friend wasn’t just fucking with me!

I loved this movie when i was younger!! It still holds up very well and i wish we got more from the "Sjy High" universe. All the characters were so cool and interesting and i feel like they could do more
Side note: Warren was one of my childhood crushes (along with the majority of the cast as a closeted bisexual) and he should have ended up with Layla

Sad you never mentioned Bruce Campbell or Dave Foley. Especially since Dave Foley was in the sketch comedy group the Kids in the Hall with Kevin McDonald and they were both in the scene together. Also, Royal Pain's plan was to raise the heroes and teach them to be villains instead.

i'm commenting before watching the whole video just to say that I was OBSESSED with Sky High. i'd beeline for the DVD whenever we went to Blockbuster. funny, I dont' actually have that much of a memory watching it on Disney Channel as a kid.
