Hi, I'm an italian med student and I'm currently studying for the exam of Medical Genetics and I'm having some difficulties to understand how genes are transmitted from the parents to the germline cells. I'm late for this video since I'm writing on a 5 years delay but I think your explanation is what I was looking for. You said that the genes the cell inherits will be reset , but why, in the case of the female, both the chromosomes with maternal imprint are off (min 3:53)? Same for the male in the next case in which both chromosomes with paternal imprint are off. I can't get the mechanism behind this. Thanks in advance!
