I'm new to the Game and me and my friends were having alot of trouble surviving. My other friends wanted to take rafts to high level areas to try and find rare resources. 5 rafts later I said screw you guys I'm getting a pack of dilos. 10 dilos later I'm in red wood forest feeling pretty confident about being protected by 10 dilos and 3 Raptors in red wood forest. Then I see a zebra, so I tell everything to stop. I chased this zerbra about 100m away then I see literally everything died to a spino... I waited till it was gone then I went to see if anyone survived. Every single dilo and raptor died... They achieved their main objectives of keeping me alive but now I had to get out fast. I haven't been back there since.
also if ur on a flyer in the red woods watch out for thylacoleos they will pounce on u
@@jacksonmaple2776 Not only fliers, any tame you’re on. They even pounce when you’re just on foot.
Also micro raptors. Those are annoying af.

I have a lil circle of dilos with a feeding trough feeding them all on neutral so they protect my base when im travelling n stuff

Tamed a level 120 at the start on an official server. She saved me from a raptor. Named her queen savior. She lasted for 2 months until a rogue brontosaurus came in and agro on the one spike I have that I forgot to break. Rip

I have 4 dilos and they took out a level 12 spino yesterday
I remember my lvl 38 and 44 dilos. They took out a lvl 40-ish troodon (i think, it's been a while), lvl 18 raptor, a low-ish lvl carno. They were AWESOME. Sadly, they died to a lvl 3 therinzinosaur.
Note: these were all separate encounters
The therinzinosaurs need a nerf.
Had a pair a teen lvl dilos. Loved em till the very end (sniff)
Got me out of many situations they did. Took out a lvl 10 carno that blindsided me (character was sub lvl 10 at the time).
I love dilos for their easy tame and effectivness as hunting "hounds" especially when you got several.
Wait, what? Lol i know that a lvl 1 Spino has 700 health

But it did not the venom is just what Jurassic park had to make it scarier also a velociraptor is the size of a turkey and dilophosaurus is actualy around 6 ft tall. I freaking study dinosaurs and know almost all of the dinosaurs and there scientific name ok?

I've got diplos that keep spawning in and crossing over the fence of my base, trying to nudge the other dinos out of the way as they wander in. I parked a couple of brontos over there because they can't be nudged, but it's still annoying. So I've parked a mess of dilos over on the low side of the wall and fenced them in, set to aggressive. I call them the meat grinder.
Tip: when dilo is changing his spit jump in the side
Dilo will shoot on you but you will jump over or it would think that you can fly so it would shoot in the sky

Phlinger is it possible to crank up their movement speed so it can kind of keep up with your run? If so what percentage should they be at or is it not worth it? I just started a new Island play-through and was wanting to make a little pack of these guys until I get something better.
Any tame except flyers can have speed increased I think.
@@thetableofelements4472 I am pretty experienced now in SP so I just level up more quickly and skip these guys most of the time. What I meant back when I posted this though was that would increasing their speed make a real difference? Some dino stats you can increase but have minimal effect by design. Well regardless these little guys get stuck on terrain really easy to you have to keep an eye on them when they are following you.
Also Snow Owls can increase their speed by imprinting but not by leveling if we want to talk about a semi-exception to the rule post classic flyers
I used a club to tame one. At some point, she stopped moving, and I couldn't understand why.
Now I know I probably put too much meat in her.

Since the kibble rework, Dilo's are not that good anymore.
However, they are a really good option if you are starting in an official PVE server, since that even a level 150 only requires a bit of minutes to be tamed even with normal meat, so you can breed an army of good bodyguards in maybe one hour, who can defend you from the raptors and even help you to kill low level hervibores.

Dilophosaurus are amazing to start off. They saved my life a couple of times, it's just quite difficult to tame them

I luv my dilo he saved me two times
One time
I got attacked by 15 compys they were so hard to kill ...my one lonely dilo killed all of them and he saved me
Second time
I got attack by 4-5 low level dilos ... I got killed but when I came back there i saw my dilo had killed all the other dilos :)) i named him "Alpha King"
I have a pack of 6 dilos,and I have 2 allosaurus chillin outside my house,I know ima have to sacrifice them if they fight but I love them,what do I do

Edit:I recently found my long lost dilophosaurus
Her name was dilo, I’m saying was because a pack of those damn troodons killed her. I want revenge on them troodons, imma get more powerful creatures.

No spyglass, I knocked a lvl 44 out but got jumped by a lvl 100... did the ol' drain'n'tame so with the bonus she became lvl 149... dude... best tame ever

I had a very low level raptor and a dilos knocked it out with the spit attack and for some reason the unconscious raptor slid into the water and drowned and died
Can stun charging dinos but not really effective.
My boy level 19 dilon sacrifice himself to protect me from a pack of other dilos,so in return i got 2 level 4 dilos and name them dilan and diloon to honor my fallen friend
