I'm gonna play on Tormax. I like to 4 box and I don't want to deal with crazy packed zones on Teek. I think there will be a far more relaxed fun atmosphere on Tormax.
No FTE saved my Everquest LIFE. I was for sure not playing anymore with FTE enabled. I quit Oakwynd after 2 weeks of trying it out. I'd rather never see FTE again. I think the traditional server HAD to be available because of the 25th anniversary. Hard to say come enjoy classic without a server starting there. Kunark start makes me happy though.
Now that Kunark start is confirmed, could you comment or better yet make a video talking about starting class/leveling route implications? I feel like Monk is stronger with Iksar available, however the only healing class around will be shamans until clerics are able to make it to teleporters, and may just decide to stay in classic zones anyways. I feel like this is going to be the Wild West again, at least at server start.
Healers are definitely in short supply in kunark starting zones. I have some great memories of trying to make due without one in Kurns tower. One group I was in when kunark released on Mangler we had 3 monks and 3 necros and the necros were taking turns healing with dark empathy and lifetaping. We felt like we had really done something cool, it was so much fun.
@@Joshthegamer8600 With Personas though, There will be plenty of other race/class combinations in FOB at level 1. Make a Dwarf Cleric, roll a iksar persona.......run to the edge of Cabalis...swap back to dwarven cleric......etc
I hate that I keep hearing how Tormax is going to be dead on arrival...coming from a someone who didn't play mischief, I have very high concerns on playing a random loot free trade server that is starting in kunark...am I the only person that is assuming that this will mean literally EVERY epic item drop will be perma farmed by necros front loading their dots...I have 0 intention on buying my epic..but NO ONE IS TALKING ABOUT THIS... does free trade only apply to NO DROP GEAR or is literally every item sellable (permacamped by necros)
Playing on Mischief the epic camps actually didn't seem that bad. Most of the epic peices that are tradable and can be farmed are affected by the random loot system, so they drop off of a variety of mobs. Finding one to camp for your drop is not difficult at all. As for the peices you need a raid to get, they also drop from more bosses so tend to drop more often than on past servers and most guilds will have a system in place for distribution of epic peices. Its a valid concern but my experience on Mischief was that if anything, it is easier to do your own epic rather than being forced to buy it because there often isnt one single mob that a farmer can lock down.
It's funny how all of the people who are excited about Teek all say the exact same things. They all like the Tormax name better...WTF, how does the name of the server make it better for you? That's like 3rd grade stuff bro. They all want to change Tormax to something closer to Teek, or add some other silly rules. There's already a Teek server...we don't need 2. If people wanted random loot they will play Teek. If it's all set to fail then just let it fail and stop worrying about it.

Daybreak just Milks TLPs every year. They won't make a new EQ3. The servers all start out fun for about 3-4 weeks and then is goes straight to selling Power leveling or Mage bot army that won't group. These TLPs are an absolute waste of time. The only option is to get into a high end raiding guild IMMEDIATELY or you won't be able to get a group for anything after about 3-4 weeks. I am done with TLP garbage.
I actually have s lot of fun playing on TLPs. There is no real need to rush and catching up is pretty easy if you fall behind. And guilds tend to keep recruiting new people because of the player attrition that comes with TLP servers. Sure there are always going to be people selling PL services but its easy enough to just ignore them

I was really late to Mischief and quit at SoF. Definitely going to Teek.
Personas changes starting location for races as it gives people 2 origins or more. Also I agree, I believe next week they will tweak Tormax.

P99 is a bit more hardcore and true to the original game. TLP servers have a lot of quality of life stuff added that make the game a bit easier.
