- 2020 Kia Forte GT mods and exhaust 2020 Kia Forte GT Manual with muffler/resonator delete exhaust, Tork Motorsports mods (air intake, intercooler resonator delete pipe, blow off valve, oil catch can), JNC 042 rims, carbon fiber exhaust tips, painted calipers. Soon I will have Verus Engineering hood louvers installed and will do a quick video to show you. In the future I am saving up for Tork Motorsports downpipes with high flow cat and tune, tinted windows, tinted head/tail/fog lights, and carbon fiber wrap for black accents and roof.

For some of the 2020 Kia Forte GT mods you can find more under the Hyundai Veloster 2nd generation category because they use the same parts and have the same measurements for a lot of their parts or just call them. They were great and easy to deal with when I had questions.

Thanks and thats ok. Customizing anything, especially cars is very subjective. Not everyone is gonna like it. I wanted to go woth black rims cuz i thought it would look better but you couldnt see the details of the rims because they were dark. Oh well. Haha.

If im honest i was one of those people that hated on kia years ago but they have changed so much and now compete with other notable car manufacturers and in my opinion this year has surpased them. Sounds good! I was riding around with just the resonator delete for a while and 2 days ago I just got the muffler cut off with the stock tips welded back on. Drove around for a while and got the resonator back on now cause it was just to much. Was gonna get a sport muffler but I guess the way our car is set up they didn’t have any that would have worked. If you know of any exhausts for our car I’d love a recommendation!
Yes i have a couple ideas but not sure if they would be what you are looking for. You can try a vibrant resonator or the flowmaster outlaw or anything similar like a glass pack. I believe our exhaust is 2 1/2” so just make sure you check the size. Other than that i would think any 2 1/2” muffler would work but then they would change the sound too. Hope some of that helps

Im not sure. Someone else asked me that. It will defi itely sound different because your model doesnt have a turbo. I was one of the first to change my exhaust on this car so i didnt have any videos to look at and hear. I would say just make one change at a time till you get the sound you want. You can do muffler delete or change the muffler. And or do a resonator delete or do a muffler and resonator delete and choose a vibrant resonator or muffler in its place.
Love what you’ve done to the car bro! I’m currently running my gt fully stock with a res delete. Was thinking about a muffler delete too, just wanna know if it would trigger the check engine light or if you’ve experienced any sensor issues.
Thanks man, i appreciate that. No, it wont trigger a check engine light. You will be fine because you are not affecting the air flow past the sensors in the downpipe. You can even take out the second cat out with no problems and no engine light. And even the downpipe too as long as the new downpipe has the correct fittings for the sensors to continue to have different readings.

Car looks great! I have the same exact one thinking of going black rims. Definitely will and are those aftermarket brakes or painted? You should tint your windows it looks 100x better tinted. Also, i swapped out the turn signals & fog lights for LED’s and it looks amazing. Makes the car looks a lot more expensive
Thanks man. I was gonna go with the same rims i got in all black but they were so dark that you couldnt see the details but i do think black rims with this color is the eay to go. When you get id like to see how they look. And i plan on tinting the windows as i agree that will definitley change the look of the car but its so expensive by me so i have to save a little more. And i love the led lights. I was thinking the same thing in time.
Oh and i painted the brakes with g2 brake paint. I put 5 coats on them. They came out great.
Your rims looks nice and aggressive. Brakes came out good aswell. Next upgrade you have to make is the tints.also tinted my front windshield 50% and it makes the car looks a lot more aggressive with no visibility problems. Thinking of wrapping the taillights. I get a lot of compliments on this car
Yeah i cant wait to get the windows tinted but i cant do the windshield. Im in nj and i would get pulled over for that. I have the smoke tint for thr head lights and tail lights but havent had the time to do it but it will look nice after its all done. Plus im doing carbon wrap on black accent pieces.

I've been driving around with my exhaust stock for a few months now. I really want it to be louder. The only thing I'm worried about is I don't want to make people feel awkward when we go on like an hour or two hour road trip. Be honest with me, with a muffler and resonator delete, would people get annoyed driving on the highway for an hour to two hours? That's my only concern.
So its a good question, for most people it might be too loud. Its not for me. I can talk to my wife and kids no problem. But i love the drone so i dont thinks its loud. So i would say if you want a louder exhaust them maybe try deleting just the muffler first. See how it sounds. And if you want it louder try the resonator delete. You will be able to have a conversation with anyone without a problem with the muffler & resonator delete but it will have some drone. I dont think its bad at all. I actually want it louder

get a exhaust cut out valve just before the muffler if you want it loud when you want it and quiet when you want it.

is the whistle sound when your driving the blow off valve? at what point does it release the pressure? im thinking of doing an exhaust but I don't like it too raspy/drony ( don't really know the difference) but I do like the pops and farts. I have a 22 forte gt with race chip gts and takeda stage 2 cai. I plan on adding a oil catch can and possibly exhaust and blowoff valve but 1) im not sure what exhaust I want 2) not sure if I want the blowoff valve, would my engine be losing power (air) by releasing some pressure into the atmosphere? how do you feel about the blowoff valve vs the stock bypass

I just checked it out. Thanks for the recommendation. Im gonna consider it. I have to do the spark plugs and the downpipe and if i dont tune it through tork motorsports then i might just use that.
@@asharplife9488 you should take a look at the GAN GTL or GT instead of the AFE chip...gives you 42+ hp and 56nm of torque...I got it for my 2019 GT-NLine and it spins the tires through first and second gear - huge difference...and I only have a muffler delete, no CAI/downpipe haha.

I did them myself. And you definitely can too. Tork motorsports also posts videos on youtube for most of their products and how to install them if you need a little help. Its was all easy to do. The only thing that took a little effort was the intercooler resonator delete pipe. It wasnt hard, just took a little more effort.
A Sharp Life only issue I have from doing these myself would be voiding the warranty. Just got my forte GT a month ago and I really am enjoying it. I’m looking at doing a muffler delete soon by a certified shop, since I asked the dealership if doing modifications would void the warranty and they said as long as it’s done by Kia or a certified shop, it won’t void it.
If thats what you feel comfortable with then do it. I dont think what the mecahnic said was 100% accurate. There was another comment on here from a mechanic at a hyundai dealership and he said they domt mind as long as you dont tune it or touch the cats. But again its what you feel comfortable with. And just save whatever you take off in case you want to put it back on. Maybe that will give you peace of mind. I hope it works out for ya and puts a smile on your face like mine does me. Haha.

Which bov did you get? I went to the website and there are lots of options and idk which to get and what other things to buy to install it
what did you look for as far as rim specs i have 2019 and my wheel specs are 15 5x114.3 6.5 50.... do you think i have a safe bet going for the dimensions you have?
Yes you should be able to have the same size as i have. You just have to get similar tires to match the size. My model came with 18x7.5 so i was able to keep the original tires. My rims now are 18 x 8.5 with 35 offset. You can use tirerack.com or a couple other websites to see what tires are available for whatever size rims you are looking for.

Well congrats. Its an awesome car. As far as i know it is not a problem with kia unless you take out the cats. That is if they see it. Some dealers wont even care, but theres always that one guy that might care. I put on a catless downpipe too cuz i dont care but you should not get any trouble for deleting the muffler and resonator.

Popular misconception. GT Line does not mean GT. It’s all of the show but none of the go. I really wish they would have named GT Line something else, like RS.

No i haven’t done anything to the lights yet. You can access it from taking the protective plastic cover off from underneath the car

Do you find there is a lot of drone when going 80km-100km ? Bc I’m deciding whether I go with resonator and muffler delete or spend the extra on a catback system if I can. What’s your suggestion ?
Theres definitely some drone. Its not too loud in my opinion but i like a loud exhaust and drone doesnt bother me. Maybe try process of elimination. Start with the muffler or resonator delete and see how you like it. Then if you want more sound then delete the other. I those are also the cheapest options. And if you dont like the sound or uts too loud then get a catback or buy a muffler or vibrant reaonator.

Sorry for the delayed response. You can experiment with the exhaust but im not sure how it will sound without the turbo. Maybe start with a resonator delete and/or muffler delete. Depending on how it sounds from there get an aftermarket resonator to change the sound like a vibrant resonator.

your air intake would suck in hot air from the engine bay, the blow off valve would increase turbo lag because it’s not keeping the turbo spooled up for the next gear and doing exhaust and intake without a tune is a waste of time.

Thats gonna be hard because your model doesnt have a turbo so its going to sound different. But if your looking for sound you have options. You could do an air intake, ill put a link in here for that, and as for your exhaust you can try a muffler delete, resonator delete, and/or buy an aftermarket muffler or resonator. You can try a vibrant resonator or flowmaster outlaw. I dont know how it will sound but those are good options. If it was me (i like loud as long as it doesnt sound like a tin can or fart), i would start with a muffler or resonator delete and go from there. Then you can delete both and if you dont like the sound you can add the vibrant resonator. Those are just some options for you.

Thanks man. I think i can help you with some options. What are you looking to do it it? You could do an air intake, and there are quite a few options for the exhaust whether it be deleting the muffler and/or resonator. You could put an aftermarket muffler or reaonator like the vibrant reaonator or flowmaster outlaw. You could get a tuner for it. There are a couple to look at like jb4, afe, or gan tuner.
Hello! I just installed oem sensors on my aftermarket wheels and the TPMS isnt reading on my display? It says drive to display. I driven all over town and even went back to the shop that installed them. They said the sensors all read the pressure on the scan tool and no lights are on for TPMS. I was wondering if you if you ran into the same issue?
Hello, so on this car i did not have any problems with the tpms on my new rims. But i did on my last car. It took over an hour to sync back with the car. I know others had the same problem. I was told to drive at least a mile to 5 miles and it would be all good. It worked for me but took longer for others. Maybe wait till the morning after the car sits and start her up and Drive a couple miles. If its not gone then try back where you got thr wheels installed again

I have the same one now white. I have only done just tints and that’s it I was looking on changing the exhaust and giving it a air cooler intake but just don’t know where to get the best parts at
So for the exhaust you got quite a few options. You could go to a local shop and do a muffler and/or reaonator delete and/or 2nd cat delete depending on how loud you want it or you could just buy an axle-back, cat-back, or turbo back exhaust. You could do vibrant reaonator as well. Not many places have full exhausts made yet cuz its a newer car. You can find downpipes at tork motorsports, sxthelement, 845 motorsports and kdm tuner.
As for the air intake, tork motorsports and sxthelement have good ones and you can pick different colors too.

This is the orange. The paint is cool cuz in the light it has different shades of orange but as the dun sets it looks like a deeper darker orange/red

I definitely have ideas but it depends on what your looking for? Driveability, power, looks, all of the above. Is it turbo? You can do echaust, rims, springs/coilovers, air intake, spark plugs, tune, tints, car wrap, etc. theres so much you can do. If you need any specific suggestions just let me know specifically what you are looking for and i can give you info and websites and ideas.

I just did a muffler and resonator delete. And to make it louder you could take out the secondary cat. You dont need to buy an aftermarket exhaust or muffler. Just take it to a garage or meineke and have them cut thr muffler and resonator out and replace with exhaust pipe.

Thats the @Tork Motorsports blow off valve i installed along with the air intake. Instead of recirculating the air i changed it to vent to atmosphere which is why you hear the whistle or chirp sound. Some bovs sound different.

The small spoiler on mine came stock from kia. Ive tried to search for other spoilers but the car is still new so there hasnt been many companies making aftermarket stuff yet
Is that the BOV making that little squeal when you let off the gas?
Yes thats correct. Although it does not happen every time unless you press the gas enough to engage the turbo. Under light driving you wont hear it because your not building boost. When you get on the gas enough the boost builds up from the turbo and when you let off the gas you release the boost. Think of it as a pressure relief valve.
@@asharplife9488 you should really try a different BOV. I have one from boomba racing on my Forte GT. It sounds very different. I've actually never heard a BOV sound like yours. You sure its installed right?

Thanks man i appreciate it. Yeah the bov i have is made specifically for my model. It siunds like that because i have a horn attached to the outlet of the bov. Its an extra attachment to make it louder. So instead of a whoosh sound it makes a chirping sound. Higher pitched. But i appreciate the recommendation. Ill take a look at the boomba and see how it sounds.
mine has AEM CAI, Go Fast Bits BOV, Straight Piped Axle-Back Exhaust, Eibach Lowering Springs, and JB4 tune. You can see me racing a Veloster Turbo R-Spec on my channel.

I used the jb4 piggyback tuner. Ive tuned other cars in the past and didnt want to remap the ecu this time. Kept it more simple. I looked into all other piggyback tuners and jb4 was the best way to go.
Hi i tried finding the muffler delete on the website i cant find it and the carbon tips. What is it exactly called on the internet?
The muffler and resonator delete i did wasnt from a website. The car was so new to the public when i got it that no company had made any premade pieces so i went to a garage and had them cut out the muffler and resonator and put in stainless exhaust tube in its place. As for the carbon tips i got those off of ebay. I dont normally use ebay but i found them for like $60 and they are real carbon. Just make sure the seller is from usa and not china. The guy i got them from was from new jersey. The carbon fiber dual tips would look awesome but i wasnt sure they would fit.

Does changing Exhaust on your car void your warranty?
Depends on how you change your exhaust. A muffler and or resonator delete will not. If you touch the cats then depending on the dealership they could give you a problem if something happens to your car and they find out.

Yes i did but it wasnt that hard. You can do it. Just check youtube for videos. Maybe i will do a couple videos for installing the mods, but it was easy.

What size piping do you have ?
Most of it is stock except for thr small pieces i cut out thr resonator and muffler which i believe are 2 1/4. I wanted to match the stock 2 1/2 size but thats what they had.

No i cut out the muffler and resonator and had a garage weld exhaust pipe in its place so its straight piped.

Ok, so a turbo kit is on the expensive side (if money is a factor for you) and on a car thats already 7 years old might not be the best to do but it is an option. You could try the cheaper options first, like a muffler and or resonator delete. And if that sounds too raw or tinny or not the sound you are looking for you could get a vibrant resonator or glass pack or flowmaster outlaw and those would give it a good sound. And an air intake. Or just save up for the forte gt. But either way you go i hope you get what your looking for!

So from what ive been told as long as you dont touch the cats youre fine. But it also depends on the dealership. Some are ok with it and others are more atrict but you can take out and/or change the muffler and resonator with no problems.

i have a Kia Forte LXS 2020. Would the mods still be the same?
So being your model doesnt have a turbo you wouldnt get the intercooler delete pipe or the blow off valve. You could do an air intake though which will help and you wouldnt have to change the air cone filter for 100,000 miles. You could do a muffler and resonator delete but not sure how it would sound. I would try searching for an example on youtube for your model. Good luck with modding. Honestly your car would look great with a nice set of rims and timted windows.
Do you need a Cobb tuner to make it pop like that? I have the same car just a 21 GTline.
No thats the way it comes from the manufacturer. Its just louder and more pronounced now because it has a turbo and i took out the muffler and resonator and second cat. As for the gt line im not sure how it will sound in comparison to this because it doesnt have a turbo.

Its the tork motorsports blow off valve. I believe the parts are made from GFB who also makes bov’s. But they make them for the Tork Motorsports brand and its cheaper. I also bought the gfb horn for it. Thats what gives it a loud chirp sound. Without the horn it should have that loud “wwwhooossshh” sound.
Does the pop came after you did the exhaust
No, the forte gt exhaust has small pops and gurgles from the factory but with the mods ive done its much louder thats all.

Yes there are aftermarket upgrades for the 2.0. Depends on what youre looking for.

No, i took the original ones off and added the carbon fiber tips.
