  • My 1965 CB77. Might be the most beautiful thing next to Sarah Palin. Runs perfect and handles like a Superhawk should. And no its not for sale. Filmed with my Canon 5d mark ii with a 50mm lens.

    Both of my Honda's were from the 70's. Your bike inspires me to find an earlier Honda. Nice bike.

    Beautiful. I rode a white Super Hawk from 1969-72....29 horsepower, 100 mph, what more could any biker want?

    I've been (re)reading Pirsig's 'Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance' and I believe that is the bike he rides in the book. Awesome video, great bike. Well done!

    This model is used in the Elvis Presley film Roustabout. I became interested in japanese bikes because of that. The CB 72 is cute as well.

    +1 on those clubman bars, they look awesome. Cool video. And you're dead on accurate about Sarah Palin too. Looks like you've got things pretty well figured out.

    Type 1 or 2 engine. When I was in Japan in the 60s the 305 could come with a 180 or 360 crank. Yours sounds like a type 1.

    Nice bike. A guy in my neighborhood rides one. Don't know the year, but it looks like yours. His handlebars aren't as low as yours, but it sounds very nice. Haven't had a chance to flag him down and get questions answered. I've had a 1973 blue CL 175 and a 1975 red CB 400 F Honda. Miss them both. Whoo Ha!!!

    Would be nice to see a vid where someone really opens a CB77 up on the open road! I had one in 1962 and the little bastard would run past 10 000 rpm, even though I think the redline was at 9500.
    Mind you the engine on mine lasted only 7000 miles, but what the hell!

    • @stewartw.9151
      @stewartw.9151 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@sierrachief117 Since it was serviced from new according to the service schedule by the dealership from whom it was bought new, I doubt that is correct!
      In fact they claimed that it was a weak fuel/air mixture and blamed me for messing about with the carbs. They may have been right actually!

    • @sierrachief117
      @sierrachief117 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@stewartw.9151 Oh! Sorry for the wrong assumption then. Did you follow up with the dealership guys about the reason? Did the piston had a hole on top? If yes, then it indeed was the weak air/fuel ratio.

    • @stewartw.9151
      @stewartw.9151 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@sierrachief117 It was a holed or badly damaged piston, cannot recall exactly what they said.
      The dealer bought the bike from me as it was, and I then bought a Matchless 650 twin. Which was slower than the Honda!
      Then I got a car. Girls liked that better you know, improved your chances no end!

      That is the standard Hawk handlebar - the "western" bar was a US add-on.

    Have you seen Roustabout with Elvis Presley he rides a beautiful Honda 1964 CB 77one just like this and is criticized in the film for not buying American. I've always wanted to know where it is now. Great bike.

    They are basic "Clubman" handlebars. I just cut an inch or so off each side to make them a bit shorter.

    So confused by the Palin reference, why not go with a 1960's hottie like Raquel Welch. Now that is a chic you need to have on the back of your bike. Love to see it mostly stock and restored, please keep it that way! How much did you pay for it?
