    This is where I started on motorcycles, though in 67’. It wasn’t mine but my older brothers. I freaking loved winding that bike out to its redline and flying. If my mom wants to know I was riding that thing at 14 years at 100 mpg. Oh my ! Oh and no helmet, just my tee shirt, cut off jean shorts and converse high top tennies. 😎

    I was probably a seven to nine year old in the UK when I first clapped eyes close-up a brand-new honda twin and strange as it seems, the shape of the engine, refined cylinder-fins and slanting cylinders just stuck with me ever since. The clever bit is that one is able to determine the age I would have been. A friend pointed out the carburettas:)

    The year was 1967 and I bought my first motorcycle. A 1964 Honda Superhawk .305 basket case. Most of it was there. I paid the Honda Shop to get the motor up and running. The rest I did my self . It was cool. I bobbed the rear fender and ditched the front . Bought and installed a peanut tank.(everyone had to have a peanut tank) I put a set of ape hangers on it and painted it candy pagan gold.I got to use it the summer of 1968 and then it was off to the service. Left the Superhawk in my best friend's house for safe keeping, and his house butt down. It was fun while it lasted and is a fond memory. Keep the shiney side up. The Hornet

    Breathtaking restoration! Wow, I never understood why people would go through this painstaking restoration to only turn around and sell it?

    • @kosmjon2
      @kosmjon2  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s kind of become a habit now. I enjoy working on them even more than riding them. It’s fun to make a wrecked old bike look brand new and passing it on to a new owner.

      @@kosmjon2 Jon, I live in NYC. I can't figure out a way to own a motorcycle here without it getting stolen but if I ever do, you're the first person I'm turning to for a restored motorcycle. Your craftsmanship is second to none. Stay awesome!

    I know you may have sold the bike but I have 1 question: Did you have the brake hubs chromed or did they buff out that nice?

    • @kosmjon2
      @kosmjon2  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Brake hubs were vapor-blasted then sanded from 400 to 1500 grit then buffed using black, brown and finally white compound. A lot of work but you get a mirror finish.
