I just installed my bauce racing ecu flash, full yoshimura alpha and I have that wobble a lot now. Just ordered the v4 steering damper
I don’t have a sport bike but I just picked up a new yamaha bolt. Would be awesome to meet up with people and ride. The wife and I are in Marble Falls.
Same bikes me and my buddy had my R6 was 09 his CBR600 was a 10 but really only difference mine would wined a litter further so I didn’t have to shift as soon and that’s always where I pulled slightly ahead and he could never cover that gap then other then that dang close just R6 little harder on the wrist but it will run to 16.500rpm and the Honda want.

both. the r6 is maaaybe overrated.. but the cbrs is underrated. i aint loving it, neither the gixxer, but they both are underrated.
No no no no that’s not how it works! Here is the reason the older CBR can hang with a new equal bike it’s all about pollution and gas mileage. That R6 had to meet stricter regulations yet make more power! So they leaned it out! That’s why they come alive when you delete the cat and tune them! I know I had one and my buddy had a new CBR and the difference was tiny but that’s equal years. But yea back in early 2000’s bikes was faster because they didn’t have to meet ridiculous standards set by the government. My 2002 ZX900RR was as fast as most liter bikes on paper and in the real world! Everybody thought that extra 100cc’s would make them just walk away but they didn’t it usually come down to who ever got the hit!

A suit will save you against road rash. But with a high speed impact it doesn’t matter. Either way there’s no way of predicting whether you’ll hit something or go sliding across the road at 120mph, and because of that at suit is worth wearing

The R6 is clearly faster, but the CBR held its own very well, I think. Not *that* much has happened in the past 10 years, performance wise.
Unless you race in professional moto gp or drag races, that really doesn't matter!

@@wairegi excellent, hope things are good with you as well. I’ve heard start lower if you have no experience, I didn’t listen and bought an R1 and so far so good. I took my time feeling the bike out. Even if you’re on a bicycle you have to watch out for other vehicles, but I respect the bike itself and it’s gone a long way with me personally. I also thought long term, not wanting to sell/trade a lower powered bike for one with more power while losing money in the process. Hope my answer was helpful, some will agree and some won’t but it worked for me and I wish you the best of luck.
Finally!! I sell motorcycles and I get so tired of telling new riders that most of these sportbikes are pretty much the same. Sit on it and what color and look do you like, pretty much all that matters. Glad to hear you say that.
I’d set apart the R6 against any other bike lol cbr600 and gsxr 600 is a good starter 600cc, the R6 is a lot to handle

The 2009-2012 cbr's actually have less power than the 07-08's
Enrique Castillo It is only because they retarded the ignition timing to meet emissions. With an ecu flash or a dyno tune they have the same amount of power.

Enrique Castillo If I remember correctly that was pretty much the only difference from 07/08-09/12 other than a little bit of weight savings. In 13 they changed the engine a bit, shortened the wheelbase a smidge and found more weight to take out.

I have an 09 and the two main differences are the sprocket tooth count and the addition of ABS which caused the fairing change due to the ABS module being mounted on the left side. There is a fairing mounting bracket on the side that's configured differently in the 09-12 due to that. The 07-08 and 09-12 w/o ABS are about 18 lbs(8kg) less. Otherwise, almost every part or fairing are the same for an 07-12.

Got a r6s 2007, needs spark plugs changed. Gonna have it done tomorrow, misfiring right now which is terrible. First streetbike although I rode alot of dirtbikes and quads before. Also rode a 250 street bike for a few miles and a r6 2007 a very short distance.

One of my favorite bikes was this model cbr. It looks so good. You cant deny the mid range power either. But the r6 top end just sings and feels soooooo good...I'm a gsxr rider and have been forever. But these bikes do the same thing so differently, it's just fun to ride them all. Keep it shiny side up!
Beautiful to see him shifting at high rpm's without fingering the clutch at all. Perfect shifts, achieving maximum acceleration everytime 👌🏾
Actually he got a shifter, all new bikes have it, but when he down shift he uses the clutch :)

I can't help but feel as though racing in a specific gear isn't a great idea. Though it doesn't make much of a difference in most cases, you should just choose whichever gear is best for your bike.
That CBR sounds way nicer than the R6
bldeagle10 your comparing a toce full system aftermarket exhaust with a stock r6 exhaust... you realize if the r6 had a Toce it would sound the same maybe even better

At that speed, especially with no 1 race leathers, or spine protector, no boots, there is no surgery involved, body recovery only, I still like fast, been riding since I was 5 and I am 55, alot of track time and stupidity in canyons and alot of going down , but proper equipment it helps more than you think, whether going slow or fast, my friend died in 83 doing this on ortega highway in socal, its not a good sight and he did not smile, be safe as possible...speed safely

The CBr got a downgrade of power in 2009. So the 07 08 ones are the most Powerful until 2017
Ben S they got a downgrade in 07 too. The fastest are a tually the 03-06. The 05/6 had a TINY boost over the 03-04 but a programmer can make it up.

Got him by a lot. He must not be good at racing. I’m still learning from a dig. CBR looks better and that Toce exhaust sounds amazing. 20lbs in rider weight does make a difference. That looks like an old CBR vs a new r6 which makes a difference too wear and tear plays a part in slight loss of power. Either way good runs 👍🏻
I’ve been watching our videos for a while and I commented about getting a r6 for my first bike. Well I worked my ass off and got a 2009 Yamaha r6 black and gold just like your old one and I love it. Thank you for making awesome videos.

Fabu lous what do you even ride? I’m 19, go to school, and work 30 plus hours a week. Sorry mommy and daddy don’t buy me everything and I can’t afford a new bike. Plus, I never sold anything, I just saved up and paid cash for an 09 r6 which is not even that old. On top of that, you probably can’t even ride that where you live because you’re restricted to a 125 for the first few years. Don’t try to make someone feel bad about working hard for something.

That cbr600rr is my old bike, funny seeing it on your channel. I sold it to him back in May or June of this year. I'm on an R6 now like you. My old bike only had like 4K miles on it. Again, funny seeing it on your channel.

To be honest I'm not all about speeding on the streets, so I preferred the cbr. I actually bought another cbr since this vid was released and it's my street bike. Has more low end tork than the R6 which I now use for the track.

I was out riding yesterday on my YZF600R and got it up to 120mph a few times and I noticed how much better it runs at speeds of 80mph and above. It is very responsive and pulls hard the whole time till I get scared and shut 'er down. I still haven't seen what top end is. I hit 135mph one time but shit was flyin by me way too fast. It makes 75mph seem like you're doing about 40.

You don't have to clutch shifting gears. It's a race technique to shift faster. Although you should only do it shifting up. I wouldn't advise it downshifting.

Honda will beat the Yamaha from a dig all day but the top end on the Yamaha's are insanely quick. I use to have a 2007 R6 and I raced my friends on their CBR's and when they were in 5th gear I was only in 2nd or 3rd, when they were hitting their top speed I was reeling them in and passing them like they were standing still

How do you guys all communicate so clearly and easily? I once taped one of those headphone/mic combos to the inside of my helmet but still any faster than 20mph no one could hear me..
Disclaimer- I KNOW the answer is outrageously expensive helmets but maybe theres another way?
