- Have you ever wondered what it would be like to assemble your own watch?
DIY Watch Club contacted me and asked me if I was interested in assembling a watch from one of their kits...I jumped at the opportunity and challenge.
NOTE: The kit was sent into the channel, so we don't have to send it back and everything included in the package we get to keep...:)
Also, the package came complete with all the required tools and online video instructions.
If you have no idea about watch-building , this will take you a good hour or two. With some limited knowledge you can do it in under an hour..I took 40 minutes, however with the magic of Video editing, I managed to get it done in under 10 minutes 😊

As a one off...great, but if like me you already own your own watch making tools, it's actually cheaper to source the parts from AliExpress yourself. That said, it's a great way into the modding scene. Cheers Peter.

Yeah. When i mod i also do it faster each time. Build around 30 watches now. Love the hobby! Especially when you make something people and you really want.
If watch assembly ever becomes an Olympic sport, you are guaranteed to represent Oz☘

I replaced my own lume pip the other day and there's a feeling of satisfaction doing it yourself. Problem was I was lucky to find the lume pip after I dropped it in the grass outside.

I built their diver too, (blue bezel) kit.

The upgrades on offer sapphire, bezel inserts etc, are perfect too 👌

I have no interest in the kit, but that red dial DIY looks good man! It’s a great gift idea for a watch fan but I wouldn’t buy one for myself. I could definitely see this going to a teen and getting them into watches...and that’s great! 👍🏼👍🏼

I found your video very interesting and I'm considering ordering a kit watch myself. I just wanted to point out that the word "persuade" or "persuasion" is being incorrectly used. You can persuade a person to do something, not a watch part to fit into place. You can ease something, slide or work, into place.

Excellent idea for a video, great.
Although i could not find who made the case or straps for the kit i got they are very well made and look nice. Any one who knows watches knows the movement options are good quality. With the option to engrave the movement weight i had class of 2021 put on it for my son that graduated this year and he loves the watch. this was a very good buy

Great idea but needs far more options. Only being able to choose between a few dials, handsets, bezels etc is a bit limiting so hopefully as they grow so will the options lists.

I simply wouldn't have the patience to do that. I would muck it up for sure . I can size straps etc , quite easily but that's as far as it goes.

I have a limited amount fo experience so it was not that difficult. For someone with not knowledge, I recommend follow their online instructions to the letter and you should be fine !

I'd probably mess it up ..... That's a great-looking watch though.
shoudnt a "proper" crown be plugged as a last step? he puts it in first and then removes anyway before putting it in the case.. justbtonputbit back on. looks like 2 redundant steps

Interesting idea.. A watch kit. Was there no curved washer to go between the dial and the movement? Is the rodico supplied as well? It should be at those prices. Talk about your free labor..😂
Everything seen in the video was supplied in the kit..all the tools. As for free labour, yeah I hear you..I see it more of an experience for the end user.
