I can't get over how concise and helpful your videos are! Really glad I found your channel as I'm ramping up to join the job seeker market after 8 years with my current company.
You are a Godsend! I applied your recommendations of revision to my resume last week. I got 3 call backs within a few days after applying and have an interview for tomorrow so I'm so excited to see how timely this video is!

Thank you so much for teaming up with us, Jeff! This video is a master class on interviewing-highly recommend every job seeker watch it! (And of course, here to help as we can!)
Thank you very much, Jeff. As I'm preparing for my upcoming interviews, I've been going through all of your interview-related videos, and they have been so helpful. Grateful✨✨🙌🏻

Hey Jeff I just started my personal finance youtube channel and your videos are sooo professional and concise! My goal is to be able to create videos likes yours soon!
If you're not getting interviews in the first place the solution is to network + brush up your resume. If you're getting interviews but not landing offers it means you need to practice your interview skills!
Love your channel and work, especially in the context of career advancement. Noticing your reference to the situational questions, interviewees and interviewers beware! In my experience, these are the worst questions to ask as any answer will also be highly hypothetical and has shown to be unreliable in results. Frankly, I don’t get why these questions are still asked when you can easily reframe them as behavioral questions. So what can you do as an interviewee? Start by saying “I don’t like to answer hypothetical questions as they may not reflect my true reaction. However, what you ask sounds similar to …. Here’s what I’ve done in this situation …” This shows self awareness, creativity and sets you apart from those trying to answer a question that will make no difference in getting hired. Alternatively, reframe the question by asking “if I understand you correctly, you’d like to know my approach to … is this problem something you’re facing here at XYZ corporation?” Then based on the answer you can point to your GENERAL approach of solving problems
Hey Jeff, not sure if you remember me but its great to see you've reaches well over 600k subscribers! Been watching you since the early days of your channel in 2020 after Ali Abdaal's discord server. Great to see how far you've come
So hard to believe that people are getting hung up over the STAR method against the CARL method. Almost makes you wish for an AI winter. I mean... er.... These are some great tips, my friend! I am going to have to get these going on the side while I try to do that whole networking thing I am awful with! Always want to be prepared!
Wow this is such a useful video! Concise, easy to understand and so valuable. Only minor feedback would be if you could please slow down your talking speed alittle. Lol otherwise absolutely amazing work.Thank you so much!
Thanks for the recap on interview questions with a dash of gen AI! I'll definitely be playing around with the prompts in ChatGPT later :p Congrats on the sponsorship btw, the guidance feature in Teal looks very handy
Did you end up trying the prompts? Curious to hear whether you default to ChatGPT (free or paid) or Google Bard? Haha thank you! I honestly REALLY like Teal's product and I genuinely wish something like that existed when I was in college...
Hey Jeff, I did actually! I usually default to ChatGPT (the free one, so only ver 3.5 right now) and I tried your prompt with "Give me an example of when you had to think on your feet." One thing I immediately noticed was that instead of giving one specific example, GPT basically just strung several different bullets from the different employers on my resume together. I added in "Please don't over-embellish and stick to my experience with one employer" after the line about keeping it under 260 words and was able to get GPT to get more specific after that. At one point, I also started getting a response that was split into the four different parts of CARL, so I asked GPT to also "make the output conversational and something that's possible to go over in a few minutes." I feel I was getting better responses after that :3
Hello Jeff I have a interview question. I was terminated by my previous employer while being on medical disability. We did not end in bad terms. How would you answer why did you leave your previous employer? And would I use the word terminated or laid- off have a interview Friday .
Simply amazing tips but also scary in sense that we won't use our brain anymore in the future if the recruiter and candidate both will be using AI.....
I can't seem to get past the application stage when submitting my resume. I wish someone had told me this before about the differences as well. Can you please do a video of how to get ultra super specific on your resume? Can you also use the CAR or CARL method on your resume or cover letter?
@@JeffSu I tried using it but I noticed that it didn't give three responsibilities on my resume skills I asked it to do it. It did come up with day to day challenges but that was never posted on the cover letter though. What should I do?
Hi @jeffsu Just want to say than you for the content you make. I followed many of your vids last year and was able to get a great job . Especially the vids on "the follow up emails" 🙏
Why didn't you realsed this video soonner, I gave an interview 4 days before, at that time I really could have used this framework for situational question. I was really hesitant about asking for time to think for this questions. That's why I couldn't provide proper answer.
Highly recommend you check out Teal’s free job tracker extension: shrsl.com/4da2e
