Great Video, thank you Jeff. love the clear explanations, no-nonsense approach. Been watching a lot of your videos on this channel for the last few days and sharing it with friends and family to learn about AI! Very much appreciated Would you know which program (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini) would be best for Desk (market) research? Will watch some more of your video's on finding out the prompting support needed to increase result accuracy.
very VERY awesome Jeff, i just started using perplexity recently, and i realized by a coupe searches how much accurate it is. now i can really build something in and from perplexity thank man.
I've been using Perplexity for... well since it first came out. Always had a pro subscription too. It's exceptional- and the API is even better. The playground doesn't do it justice. I'm not a developer, but it's so easy to call into any workflow for research (and even use another model to write a Perplexity optimised prompt - I have a GPT 4o Assistant for that.)
@JeffSu pretty much any workflow that required research or fact checking. I've also found it quite good for optimisation, I am building it into my Executive Assistant Agent right now for highly customised, AI enhanced retrieval to create tailored solutions that then feed back into models such as OpenAI o1 Preview as critical, up to date information. Oh, LLMs knowledge cut-off drives me mental - Perplexity API is the ultimate fix for that with any of them. The API just works better than the front end for some reason. I can't explain it- I noticed the context window and response quality sadly dropped a tad a few months ago from the front end, but via the API it improved. It supports Semantic Search - so you can make it highly customised, WITHOUT fine tuning, to any specific business need. I'd have to explain the agentic framework I am envisioning and building to provide other examples, but please have a play with it. You'll be blown away (again). Frankly I use it for reassurance when I doubt my decision making too... even look at what frameworks I should apply for that decision process etc. P.s. it's also available via OpenRouter using the OpenAI Library, which means you can extremely easily switch models - even outside of Perplexity to one of the open source ones and test results. It's literally a code block you copy/ paste oft the OpenRouter website, and then literally change one part of one line.

Hi Jeff, do you think Perplexity could be a better option on creating content ideas for Social Media considering I want the content to be based on facts?
@JeffSu. I just realized that at 5:15, Perplexity does hallucinate regarding the last sentence; For example, it should be "China's 91 total medals", not "China's 89 total medals". So, the "126 total medals" part in the sentence was correct (regarding the U.S.) but not the latter.
@@JeffSu. You'll see that the total number of medals the U.S. and China won and the last sentence Perplexity provided seem to conflict one another; Perplexity seemed to only get the total number of medals for China wrong in the last sentence; it should say 91, not 89. Even on the official Olympics website, I checked the 2024 version and it also said 91 in the last column. P.S.
