Felder's solo does things to me inside my mind, body & heart that I can't quite explain. Spine tingling, the entire rendition. As everyone else is saying, this is by far my favourite version of this beautiful masterpiece.

Don Henley's voice is just incredible. I also love the sneer when he sings "she got the Mercedes bends." You can tell he's passionate about the song.

I just finished a gig in Bend Oregon when Hotel California first aired on the radio. It was about 5:00 AM driving back to Longview Washington through the high desert country of eastern Oregon. I'm telling you, it was spooky. I had recently quite my job as manager of a Weisfield's Jewelry store in Roseburg Oregon. My marriage was on the rocks. I felt like I sold my soul for rock and roll. I was in an amazing band. I had met Sheryl and Rose, two astoundingly beautiful roommates... I was sure the three of us were going to hell.
As the year started passing by I realized that I was a prisoner of my own doing. I had done well in the music business...on stage quite often with superstar bands like Meatloaf. There were groupies the fan club and all the drugs I could consume.
Yeah, Hotel California. That's where I lived, if you call that living. Soon I will be 73 years old...an old rock and roller. But I'm still alive!
And the only reason I'm still alive is that I gave my life to Jesus Christ. It's never too late, even if you have sold your soul. What Christ did on the cross for me was enough to redeem my lost soul from Satan. If any man calls upon the name of the lord he will be saved.
