    Oops! Looks like I inadvertently uploaded the video version without our usual logos and lower-third titles! I hope you enjoy the show just the same! Haha.

    Thanks for sharing this, and including American Flyer S gauge, my favorite scale. I went from American flyer to H.O. in the early 1960s because American Flyer was very hard to find in stores, the only place by buy products then. I went back to American flyer in the 1980s, starting with what I had kept from the first time. I like the size because it is easy to see detail, easy to handle, easy to get on the rails. and the American flyer of that time was more correctly proportioned than Lionel. Also American Flyer can produce a layout with lots of options in a smaller space than O gauge. My current layout is in a room 88 inches square.

      Thanks for watching, Mark! While I’m an HO guy, I do have an appreciation for other scales and try to highlight those when I have the chance. I’m always amazed at how broad the hobby is. There’s certainly something for everyone! -Mike

    Looks like it was a fun show to visit! I model Ho scale and really have many interest in different railroads and time periods. Living here in the East coast love the Norfolk Southern coal trains! I'm now on the NS kick and making a Bethgon, Topgon coal drag!! Fan of your channel will keep watching, cheers!!

      Hi there! I sure appreciate you watching! It was a really good show and worth the drive. I do enjoy NS and the old NW stuff. NS obviously has two main lines cutting across the northern part of my state- Missouri. Also, plenty of NS power on BNSF trains running through my neck of the woods. It definitely adds some variety! -Mike

    They probably moved the tug and barge, with a magnorail system. Those are killer, check them out when you get time.

    Thanks for sharing the layouts with us. I model in 2 and 3-rail O scale. I like the heft and size and the ease of detail you can accomplish. Stop by my page when you can.

    I don't understand why American O-scale is always three-rail. In the UK, you see some amazing O-scale layouts, using the larger scale to get incredible detail. But American O-scale layouts just look like toy train sets. ☹

    • @MainTrack
      @MainTrack  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello! Yes, that’s certainly something that is bothersome for a lot of modelers. From what I understand, the three rail setup was necessary for the early technology of the hobby. From there, it held nostalgia for a lot of people and that’s why it has continued all these years. I’ve seen some three rail track with a blackened middle rail to hide it better. I’ve come to realize they are two separate aspects of the hobby. The three rail guys tend to enjoy the fun or running trains, bright colors, loud noise, fast trains, etc…stuff that taps into the kid in us all. It is indeed more along the lines of toys- and that’s what many of those hobbyists are going for. Scale railroading usually tends to be a different side of the hobby focusing on ultra detail and realism. Maybe some of our three-rail guys can give insight, but these have been my own observation from O scale buddies! -Mike
