I’ve been screwed over once. Now I’m hyper vigilant and I kid you not. Every. Single. Vehicle. That I look at has something wrong with it, the seller is dodgy, etc etc. How can you buy a vehicle in confidence these days? I’m looking at a van in my home town and over the years the mileage has been tampered with. I’m not sure if the guy who owns it now has been doing the same or if he has fell victim but major milages issues. 2011, 10,000 suddenly dropped to 8673 2012, 9000 dropped to 8800 Then 2012 also, went from 8914 to 20013 in 6 months?! 2014, dropped from 25322 to 25k Then finally 2018, 38k dropped to 37952.... Can you explain what the difference between DVLA, VOSA and NMR and Manufacturer are? I don’t understand why or how it would be recorded by so many different people... Thanks!
Probably minor damage in that case, no one is going to fork out of their pocket for third party damage plus their own cars damage. It just wouldnt make financial sense. Minor damage isnt that bad cause the structural and mechanical integrity of the car is in order.
Do listen to this guy.I worked in the car trade for 20 yrs so i get my cars from them and they do the HPI check so i've been lucky really,Rarely purchased cars elsewhere but never HPI'd them Only one time i knew a garage i worked in got a trade in and that had finance on it....the salesman didn't do an HPI on it,didn't knw why but it wasn't much at all.
don't forget to check the underside for rot!!, Some people buy cars the bofy looks great but its a rust bucket on the underside..

My van was hpi clear yet was in a accident rear left smashed in behind the bumper.
Yep same boat
I was looking at a car no accident recorded but one year it had 3 MOTs. Obviously a write off.
What happens if the car as been in an accident but did not go through insurance .
