    If you want more gold like this, try the band Ambrosia. "How Much I Feel" "You're the Biggest Part of Me" "You're the Only Woman" will deliver similar vibes. Love what you do.

As for Hall and Oates, the phrase that they probably used for them is "Blue Eyed Soul".. Blessings to you both and the rest of the family!!

    • @johnplaysgames3120
      @johnplaysgames3120 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@michaelmacdermott6340 Yeah, "Yacht Rock" is such a broad category that I don't really think of it as a real genre. I mean, Michael Jackson is lumped into "yacht rock" but you'd never say that was the actual genre of his music. You'd say he was pop/R&B.
      H&O definitely fall under the broad banner along with every other vaguely soft and 70s-ish music but, when it comes to the actual specific genres beneath that banner, Hall & Oates were usually classified as "blue-eyed soul," "Philly soul," "adult-oriented rock," and "soft rock."
      The internet (and text) being what it is, I feel I should point out that I'm not disagreeing with you. Just adding info and opinion to the conversational pile. :)

    Hall and Oates have been classified as either “Soft Rock, “Blue-eyed Soul”, “R&B”, Pop Rock”, “Synthpop” or one of several other genres. The Hall and Oates sound is really a blend of many different styles, and like many artists, they can be classified as many types of genres.
    Player has only recently been classified as “Yacht Rock”. “Yacht Rock” is a relatively new term that came about around 2005, and wasn’t used when “Baby Come Back” was a hit.
    When BCB was released in 1977, it was classified as “Soft Rock”.

      *"Yacht Rock"!* There's a phrase I didn't think I'd hear ever again!? When I first heard it, the term was used as the title of a series of TH-cam vids that parodied the origin of that 70's style of romantic soft rock/pop. To the list of bands, I would add Loggins & Messina.

I wish I could explain to you what it was like to grow up in the 70s, with those beautiful melodies and arrangements ... that you could hear even when you were at the grocery store. And you could also buy vinyl records at your grocery store!! The vinyles were just beside de cash. This period was so special.

    I loved this late 70's "soft rock" - for the same vibe check out England Dan and John Ford Coley -'I'd Really Love To See You Tonight" and Starbuck -"Moonlight Feels Right"
