This series blows my mind. It never ceases to amaze me how somebody can have this amount of knowledge or experience to do any of the things done in these videos
its not the knowledge or experience(completely),its the time and money (and having the tools and space)to be allowed to devote so much to each item of the cars build.
Ahhh, wiring! When you fire the engine, make sure to check your ignition coils in complete darkness. On my C.O.P. setup, I had issues with spark leak. You could see occasional arcing from the tops of the coils, over their plastic housing, and into the fancy stainless fasteners I bolted them down with. If you remove the coil covers, you remove a layer of insulation from the tops of the coils. Electricity will find the path of least resistance to discharge, and sometimes that can be through the air. I was using Chrysler 300M coils, and some may be more prone to it than others. It didn't seem to affect how the car ran, but it can't be good. In no way am I bashing,, 'just something to look out for.

Holy cow. the forethought that allowed you to make the connector bracket is wild. good work as always.
That got my jaw dropping as well! 👏👏👏
It's staggeringly good, isn't it. Talk about future planning.....
@@alexbrown1995 Agreed. Honestly i keep thinking about such details and i'm certain i could build a 100 engines and still not have that idea. But that's why were here!
month is up, need more. thanks.
The bulkhead plug bracket is a freaking 8000 IQ move
But it's not articulated to allow for expansion, think of the Kilopascals of torque that could be present! :-)
These guys continue to freak me out every episode, I thought reassembling an engine into a M113 was awkward.
At this point I'm firmly convinced that the Latin spelling of "Nik Blackhurst" is "Bracketifex Maximus"...
Without any doubt, the very BEST TH-cam channel in existence. AWESOME work guys and your attention to detail is legendary.
I've been watching for enough years, I can almost pick the moment when it's time to GET THE FUNK OUT!
Imagine how much space you would have if the engine went back in a toyota
It would need another bracket... A really big one.
Haha...
Having spent too many years watching Ed Chyna and Mike Brewer and wishing that there could be a program just dedicated to fabrication and engineering without the Brewer bullshit, along came Binky. Thank you for such a fantastic series. Inspirational and educational.
This series blows my mind. It never ceases to amaze me how somebody can have this amount of knowledge or experience to do any of the things done in these videos
its not the knowledge or experience(completely),its the time and money (and having the tools and space)to be allowed to devote so much to each item of the cars build.
Early Fathers Day present! Thanks lads.
Brackets for the win.
"Bolt-ons" completely needing re-engineering to bolt on. Every car enthusiast's life.
I can't fucking get oem stuff to line up right half the time
Who else is still disappointed that Nik didn't forge engine internals himself?
;)
smh I thought they were real car guys and were going to mine the metals out of the earth, engineer a custom alloy, and then forge it themselves :/
@@von... That was the "tedious" part that was cut from the final.
@@von... real men build a fusion reactor from spare rover parts so they can produce the required elements for 3D printing it all together.
@@carlsagan2371 just imagine what crazy brackets they could make with a metal 3d printer XD
As someone who struggles to keep the lawnmower running, I am in awe of this. Total awe.
Wow I just watched the whole series start to finish for my first time. 10/10 will def watch again.
i have not even watched it yet but the amount of excitement i felt when i saw it pop up was overwhelming , i may need to get out more.
and as always well worth the wait, ( even if i did pause it to play table tennis with the boy halfway through )
I'm calling you out on 23:55, that was definitely a simulated tea sip
I think it was to show off the mug, which I think the letters on it stand for "Not My Fucking Problem"
I agree! I thought it was fake.
You two and your projects are one of few light points in my life for the recent year. Thanks for doing your thing
7:42 was the first bracket fabricated. Must be a record.
#SpoilerAlert 🙂
Yeah, I was getting worried - you know, the boys might not be in the best mental health with this Covid crap...but what a beautiful bracket.
"Of course what we need now, is a bracket". It wouldn't be a Binky episode without one!
I know you hate making mistakes, but I love when you admit to making them. Thanks for another informative and well covered video!
Nick: "That's not gonna fit"
Richard: "If we make a giant wooden badger..."
If we had a quid for every time we'd uttered that exact line...
@@BadObsessionMotorsport it'd almost pay for those injectors? :p
it's only money 😬
@@TailGunnerUK ... they'd have been able to buy a metric tonne of o-rings to do the same job ;P
Not sure anymore if "in colour" is a joke, or if this series has started so long ago that it actually made sense to mention it back then :D

I love the wiring, I love the zip-ties, I love the brackets. I love it all!
I love the biscuits.
I for one welcome our bracket overlords.

The precision and cleanliness of your guys' build is like crack cocaine .. Love this series ..
30 minutes and i lost count how many handmade parts later:
"now i can get started"
Between this and the Tally Ho series my inner self is zen
Good taste!
That is a nice boat rebuild series, following that too.
And i thought id be one of a few overlap viewers

Just subscribed. My wife keeps looking at me with a puzzled look. Apparently when I watch these videos I get tunnel vision and nothing apart from a nipple twister will snap me out of it! What’s wrong with watching engines being rebuilt, lathes and thread lock being used?
Great channel lads👍🍺🍺🍺🍺
Reply to my comment.
Sore nipples are still here🤪
This is spectacular to see, really the best engineered project I’ve ever seen!
“8 wires! That’s almost 12 wires!” 😂😂
Wow!! I had just come out of hospital and the Gods smiled upon me with this video, made my day! Brackets, more brackets, the Funk, witty repartee - what more could an old man want? Well done lads. 😎👍
Fantastic work as always, and very timely as I need to make up a similar crank trigger for my stupid project. Love the wire management, particularly the clip on covers. That is a very nice touch.
I actually thought of you when they made the temporary bracket for the engine harness connector to make sure the length was right 😅👍
7 years ago. This car is nearly as old as my youngest. I'm laying bets on which will be ready for the real world first. Great work. Keep it up boys.
My bet on the paint color is British Racing Green with a Solid White roof as a little nod/top of the hat to the Japanese racing color.
When finished, I think the car will weigh about 1.3 tons in cap head screws alone.
Love this build, found it 4 days ago and watched all the episodes!
I'm sorry for your loss... I found it three years ago... It's a hellish predicament to be a BOM fan. On on hand you want them to get bloody moving. On the other hand you don't ever want them to finish... So if they could just hurry up a little slower that would be nice!
welcome aboard
I've been here since around episode 2, it's been a tough time
@@andersjjensen I feel you there, I've been watching since episode 4. I don't know how long it's been but it feels like decades
I'm six years into it and I'm pretty sure God's dog will have kicked the bucket before it's finished.
Guys. It’s been 2 months again. Send help. I need my fix.
There must be something REALLY HUGE coming (no pressure lads, haha)
@@johnbeer4963 They did chuck up a post where they mention that the delays are due to Covid making it more difficult and awkward to get parts for both Binky and the Escargot. Also some of the auto specialist shops they need access to are shut down for the moment, or working at a reduced capacity, thus the delays.
Just one more reason to hate 2020 at this point.
I had to watch this episode again to get help to my withdrawal symptoms. Please I need new episode.
@@taneliheikkila8276 HAHAHA YES! Me too!
They are letting their fans down big time ! I have even started following other build projects

That charge cooler needs something on top of it! maybe Project Binky engraved on it!
I have an idea for the next project. You put Binky in the Escargot, So you need an ocean transporter to put the escargot inside.
So good watching Engineering been done properly. I worked in Aircraft repair every job was done whith the care you have taken. But at the end of the day people look down on the skilled trades. I take my hat off to you..
Thought I'd had my bracket fix, then tops it off with that Chargecooler.🥰
"8 wire's, 8 wire's that's almost 12 wire's" that made me laugh to much for some reason.
8 wires is about the total wire count for the original Mini harness.
Same here, I burst in laughter! LOL XD
You guys are the reason I'm late for work today.
I regret nothing
I don’t know why it’s taking these guys so long to complete this project....said no one ever!
