    Thanks for the video. A Heads up, I could not get ForeFlight to connect and couldn’t figure out what was wrong. What I figured out was do not rely solely on the IP address displayed in ForeFlight. That was my issue, it was showing a different address than my Wi-Fi address and it took awhile for me to realize it. Hope this helps :-)

    If you're coming to the comments because its not working for you... follow all steps as described in the video. In addition, make sure your IP address isn't hidden with a unique address. Go to wifi and select your wifi connection and tap on it. Scroll down and toggle off private wifi address. Go back to Foreflight and get your new IP Address and plug it into the Flight Events app. You should be good to go. Great video either way.

    • @Turbochuck

      I don't know if you can. It only looks that way in the video because of how I edited it. You could use something like Reflector to stream the iPad to your PC, but you won't be able to interact with it on your PC.

    Is there a window for Foreflight that works in VR?

    • @Turbochuck
      @Turbochuck  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I've done it, but it's complicated. I use Reflector 3 to stream my iPad to my PC. Then, in Oculus Link, I can pin that window from my PC desktop in the VR view. It's kinda glitchy though.

      @@Turbochuck The quest pro IS PERFECT for this, Its immersive enough, and you can CLEARLY look down and see everything, I can play in VR with joy sticks and switches etc. can see foreflight by looking down with decent angle too, and makes it much more realistic feeling. Since in a plane you looking down you would see your lap anyway is more realistic than in MSFS with nothing there like you are a ghost lmao.

    Lol, do you actually fly out of KDWH? I was setting the program up, and didn’t even notice we were at the same departure airport until everything was complete! What a coincidence! 😅 Well, your Flight Events window said KDWH, but you were positioned at KAUS.

    • @Turbochuck

      I fly out of KAUS. I'm not sure why KDWH showed up, possibly from a past flight plan I had set up. Still, not far off!

    Can you export a flight plan from Fore Flight to MSFS or import a flight plan from MSFS?

    • @Turbochuck
      @Turbochuck  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm not 100% sure. In theory, you could use SimBrief to generate a flight plan and import that into MSFS and Foreflight, although I haven't tried this. If I get some time, I'll do some research on this and potentially cover it in a video.

    • @Turbochuck

      FlightEvents is very finnicky. I would try temporarily disabling any antivirus software and review the section in this video where I showed how to make a firewall exception. Also, make sure both your computer and iPad are on the same wireless network.

    can you bring it into vr with the reverb g2

    • @Turbochuck
      @Turbochuck  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm not sure. I have an Oculus and I was able to stream my iPad to my PC using Reflector and then use Virtual Desktop to pin that window in my VR. I'm not sure what the Reverb has for virtual desktop, but you should be able to do something similar.

    • @brettlanning5286
      @brettlanning5286 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Turbochuck how did you pin that window into vr?

    • @Turbochuck
      @Turbochuck  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you plug an Oculus Link cable into the Quest, the dashboard that comes up will let you select one of your monitors with the Virtual Desktop option, or you can click Add Desktop Panel to bring any open window on your PC into VR. When that's up in VR, there's a pin you can click on the lower right corner of the window.

    Great video, was seamless. One issue that I noticed, the taxiway diagram is not in alignment with the flight sim?

    • @Turbochuck
      @Turbochuck  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've noticed that the actual taxiways are correct (for the most part) but they can be labeled differently. It's gotten significantly better since release, so I think that's something they're working to improve.

    • @cebrady
      @cebrady 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Dude - he literally mentions this as his first point. The vast majority of GA pilots use this software already, so this is mostly geared at them. I know I'll be connecting it to practice flights in regions I'm unfamiliar with before actually flying them in real life.

    • @jackiewang7725
      @jackiewang7725 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The most meaningful thing is that real pilots can use it to learn the app safely on the ground.

      @@Turbochuck It isn't "just a navigation app for a flight sim" its a professional EFB used by the majority of real world pilots. Its just nice to be able to practice using Foreflight like I do irl!
