The philosophy, the aesthetic, the tech-one of my absolute favorite automotive channels here. Keep it up, you’ve definitely inspired me to start another old IH project.

Just found this video. Sorry I haven't been keeping up, life... You aren't afraid to take it right down and do it right, excellent idea. Looking forward to the next video on this as I should restore a 9 footer or 2 myself.

Just a point of observation, the "hat" channel cross pieces in the red bed are welded in "brim" up, while the tan bed has the "hat" channel welded "brim"down (just the reverse).Could be because different country of manufacture or maybe steel versus wood floor bed? Anyway, something else to research.😉
Edited: Maybe the tan bed originally had a wood floor? The "brim" down installation would shed any water dripping down between the boards instead of creating a "pond for rust". The solid steel floor would shelter the channel with the "crown" of the "hat".

That’s an excellent observation and line of reason. I’ll do my best to chase that down further.

I appreciate how you take time to explain everything. I have a 59 b 120 4x4 with a 9 foot bed that’s in really decent shape. You have definitely inspired me to get it out and drive it and use it on a farm clean up job I’ve been working on. I cut up part of an old hay bailer and made a tool box that fits nicely in the bed. It has the international harvester logo on it and has the same patina as Della. Keep the videos coming I’ll watch anything you post.

Greetings from Australia. Should be an interesting series. Getting back to those clips you needed for the Coleman, those clips look very similar to what was used on old Case tractors and smaller road graders. Thanks for posting

Isaac sent me over here. Wow!! I love Internationals myself. I love the lift and the 9 foot bed. I hav been looking for a 40's or 50's to make my welding rig. I want to mount my Bobcat, a drill press, a swordfish vise, a welding area and a pipe vise and a compressor. How did half of the bed get so bad and the other half have excellent rock guards still in perfect shape from what it looks like..

At 8:33 it almost looks like that hole was flow drilled (friction drilled). It leaves the same kind of burs on the bottom

I've been sizing up my S120 for bed sheet metal repair, so this is super awesome to watch you tackle yours. I'm very interested in how the floor sheet metal meets the front panel and front Z channel. Also with how the floor meets the side panels. Mine is so rotted it's hard to tell how it's supposed to be.

I’ll do my best to make it easy to follow. I may have to bite the bullet and make a website to host files with all the measurements to help folks who have to make some of the badly rusted sections from scratch.

Those "bullet" holes could have been made by a sharp pointy tool, like a pick or a big hammer and heel bar. I've seen it done before when no drill was available. Or they had a block of wood or sandbag on the fender and shot a hole in it.
