WATCH AS THE MM1 REPLACES THE ENGINE ON A HONDA MOWER
YES THE FACTORY BOLTS ARE SELF THREADING BUT TO BE ON THE SAFE SIDE I LIKE TO RUN A TAP IN THE HOLES
Thanks for such a speedy reply to my query! Its about time I took the mower out of mothballs and give it a thorough going over. This is the best mower I've ever owned, never fails to start on the first pull!
Another interesting video showing great details of mower anatomy.
I have an old HRA 214, (GXV120) It smoked something awful, so I rebuilt it. The cylinder bore is steel. I purchased a seal and gasket kit and rings. Crank, camshaft, piston and connecting rod were all in great shap. New rings, and absolutely no more smoke. Runs like new, much cheaper than a complete engine. (I doubt I could find one anymore, anyway)
I’ve had great success with just a set of rings also
I have a HR214 that I want to replace the engine with the same as you did. Do all the new engines in that model, GXV160, have the output drive for the transmission?
i have a 1980s hr194 it has only needed oil changes and air filters maybe a spark plug. its a great engine!
I have two hrc 216c like in your video. one has a bad engine and the other has a bad transmission. Is it easier to put the engine in the one with the good transmission or put the transmission on the one with the good engine or NJ UST buy a transmission for the one that has a good engine and buy an engine for the one that has a good transmission. thanks
Do you have to loosen the clips on the drive shaft when you’re removing the engine?
Liked your videos alot keep it up. Like to buy some seals for my hrc 216 hst honda mower.
I have one just lije it hrc216 the valve guide slipped can you ping it or does it need a new head
im pretty shure the box said gxv160 and i bought it from lightborne equipmemnt
Question. Would it be possible to swap with a gxv390? This has been my evil dark twisted fantasy for this type of mower to have super duper power!!
Great video. You make it look to easy. Anyway to keep grass off drive shaft
I know this is an older video, but I just came across this because I need to do the same thing. Can you provide the correct Part number for the replacement engine. What size crankshaft is needed? I need to hunt down a replacement engine before pulling the old one. Thanks!
On a Honda HR216 commercial motor can you replace the crankshaft bearing and seal from the bottom or does the motor have to be taken apart? Thanks in advance!
Hi there i really like your youtube channel.
A question re the “thrust” washer @ 6.10 mims. Between the engine and the ball retaining assembly.
Trying the reinstall and I noticed like a 2mm bevel or chamfer around the edge of the thrust washer . BUT ONLY ON ONE SIDE?
Do you know which side the Chamfer should face? I.e. should the chamfered side face the rotostop bearing or the engine bearing side?
Any help appreciated
there are 2 parts to the clutch basket when the video went to the next frame you see me putting on the outer basket at 10:31 ?
usually the cable sticks and wont allow the trans to fully disengaged
The cables need lubed every year or 3 months if useing
oh sorry i misread it
is that a good place to buy honda engines? good pricing?
I have a Honda model # HRT1216TDA. I have not used it for 2 years due to a problem with the self propel (clutch?) NOT releasing when I need to walk a couple steps backward. These mowers are heavy as you know, so I had to literally drag it back (with the rear wheels locked) to cut in close areas of the yard. What needs to be done to correct this? I have the Helminc Manual, but it seems overly complicated. Thanks!
I noticed when placing the clutch basket you put it on upside down and didn`t place the bearing holder on first. Then video went straight to the proper side of the clutch basket. This would have caused major problems if I had not have noticed that and continued with the engine install. Did I miss a correction part of the video? Thanks Jeremy for all of your help.
dude i heard a noise when you removed the first engine mounting bolt did you fart because that was the noise lol?
Any chance of posting one for dismantling/assembling the self drive transmission unit???
What size is the engine crankshaft diameter and length?
Hi, do you happen to know the crankshaft dimensions?
the lawnmower wont start unless u fart when removing the mounting bolts like he does at 7:13
😂
On that box it said gcv160, but that engine isnt a gcv160 is it? There really cheaply made i know
and where did you buy this one?
i watched the video just now....i dont see anything being put on backwards
Just zip it off with an impact wrench
i thought the honda use a composite deck material , so not sure why the welding ???
How did you re install cable under engine? Having an awful time getting it back on.
I know this is a 2 year old question, but I recently had to replace that cable. I went to Northern Tool Supply, and bought the longest needle nose pliers they had. And it took me about half a day to get the new one on!
Just don't let it beat you!
I have a Honda HR215 KSXA with a GVX140 engine. Where can I get a manual that tells me how to put everything back together and get the cam gears properly aligned with the shaft gears ect.
SeaSharp purchase a service manual for the engine. Amazon and ecay
Good morning, thanks for the videos.
I have a hrc216 it vibrates at medium and high idle only, once the blades are active it, vibration goes away, any ideas before I start to take the clutch system off ?
Most likely a bent crank
@@THEMOWERMEDIC1 ok, thanks for a quick reply, I’ll remove the clutch system, and I’ll start the engine to see how bad it’s, thanks again, have a great day
Hey MowerMedic where in Texas are you located?
I have a Kohler engine question 4 u.
At min 7:11, did you just fart? Lol I guess is safe to say let it rip 😂😂
thats a good fart at 7:12
alright i didnt think you did i just thought it was an odd sound lolbut like i said email me some contact info because i got a yard machines riding mower with a few little issues it runs fine and cuts but its easier to discuss over phone lol and i want to see how to do it myself for the cheapest repair
This, I assume, is a repair that has to be made underneath the mower deck? I'm thinking that the underneath is all clogged up with old hardened grass clippings not allowing the cable to move freely.
did you shart at 7:12
I came to the comments just after that moment to see if anyone else noticed.
I have a Honda commercial 216 how do I replace the pull cord?
is this the same honda youve been doing all the other videos on? If so i dont know why the guy didnt just buy a new mower.
A commercial lawn mower engine never got clean up the messy grass.
7:05
Honda has very high prices on parts
I don’t mind over hauling one but parts are expensive
NOPE NO FARTING HERE.....ESP ON CAMERA LOL
😁
the guy has 8 of these mowers
During the reassembly you fail to include installation of the "ball retainer" between the cable activated clutch basket and rotostop brake assembly
too late now lol
It looks like your doing these in your own garage? If so you must be making some good money off him doing side work.
my won't turn over ? ??
What wont?
These mowers are just as complicated as a dam lawn tractor
