If you ever replaced your manifold, turbo or anything to do with the wastegate, it is a very good idea to adjust the wastegate actuator so that it functions as intended.

When the car is off the wastegate should be close or open?
you showed it great
the wastegate arm hole gets bigger over time through wear i welded it closed grinded it smooth and drilled an 8 mm hole that way it will reduce play on the flapper lever and give a more precise open and close
Thank you for fantastic video. I have a BMW 525D Xdrive 2012. Afte the workshop has rplaced the turbo, the car is very and it seem to be under boost. I have man scan from my Autophix ES910 and the same error came up each time . Error 29A400 saying the wastegate is not calibrate properly. If my car has a electronic wastegate, what kind of computer tool do I need to calibrate the waste gate properly? Can I use a vacuum/pressure pump like a Mityvac 8255 to adjust the waste gate?
This video has been so helpful. I am replacing my actuator and wanted to know if there is danger if I tighten the too much ( ie if the flap closes at 5 instead of 6)
You may not get full boost if you do so. People have done it so that they can put off replacing the manifold for a while. If you do it too much, the engine may run rich. Thanks for watching!
@@SimpleCarGuy Engine definitely won't run rich. Maybe for a older car. Too little is going to cause boost to overshoot.
Thanks for the info!
Is it always -6 for every car? I've been trying go set my preload for my forge wastegate and can't for the life of me get it.
I heard at 6 or 7 it should be closed but the disk should spine by hand and fully closed at 8 with no movement.
hey man, thanks for the info, question: did you had to make the hole for the WG arm wider?
I used a step drill and just went one size at a time until it fit snuggly. amzn.to/36HiFrm
please man...... if you want...record the right sound who make the engine...!! is so helpful for us
`this is all nice and all but how do you do this when the turbo is ON the car?
Same way, just remove the Downpipe
What is the pressure tool you're using called?
It’s a hand held vacuum pump. I have put a link in the description.
très belle vidéo
franchement merci monsieur se jolie partage
donc si j' ai bien compris on règle la westegat a partir de 6 bars
The values to which it has to be set is somewhere in the TIS? because I cant find it...
I couldn't find the values either as this isn't a normal BMW service. The best I could find was a few aftermarket wastegate videos from the manufacturers and their documentation stated the same number.
@@SimpleCarGuy thanks
My actuator leaks vacuum slowly. Would that cause a low charge pressure code 2C57?
Here's a video of mine leaking: th-cam.com/users/shortsFDb_I70kbCU?si=AjxeQp8uKQbxMcEm
-6 of?
Inch of mecury (inHg).
@@SimpleCarGuy thank you.
