Didn’t Foxx win an award for this performance? After this movie he let the fame get to his head and that’s why he always fights for top roles in movies. Law Abiding Citizen with Foxx and Butler was supposed to end more poetically but Foxx complained that he wanted his character to “win” or he’d walk. I think also he wanted to be named “Max” again when he played in TASM and NWH because he wanted a call back to when he was a “nerdy” guy who became more confident.

His firearms training and weapon retention and ability to truly make it believable is hard to come by in movies these days. I love this film. Seen it many, many times over the years. But…. The whole premise is pretty ridiculous. Sending a single hit man to kill 5 people in one night? Right before the trial starts? You couldn’t possibly know that they will all be where they are supposed to be. As soon as a single one was identified as a witness, the others would be warned and evacuated under armed guard. The only way to do this would be to have 5 hit men act simultaneously. More like the end of “The Godfather”.
