Great analysis Tom, you are spot on. We sat off you first half, allowing possession, something we have done quite a lot this season in the first half. Taking nothing away from Notts though, you played some very nice football. As you say, second half we moved further up the pitch, increased the tempo and pressed all over the pitch. A great game to watch and I'm sure Notts will be in the mix at the end of the season, probably automatic promotion I'd say. Keep making these videos, great content! Good luck 👍
Great analysis Tom. The only thing I would add, is that regardless of personnel or opponents, Walsall deliberately don't press as high, or as energetically in the first half.
Walsall fan here in peace. Great Vlog. How a lot of people havent realised yet that we are a second half team and we just soak up pressure first half and maybe get a goal early and then come out second half when the opposition is tired is mad. First half our tactics were wrong we had one defensive mid against your 2 attacking mids we changed it second half to 2 DMs and then we were a lot more balanced. And then you kind of played into our hands as we love trying to pick off passes and counter attacking. Also think Jatta was offside for thr goal but dont think your late equaliser was off but also dont think there was anything wrong with our chalked off goal and also think you got away with a penalty on Matt too. You are the best team weve played this year and you'll definitely be top 3. I do think you got it wrong bringing Jones on tho he looked leggy after 5 mins on the pitch and as soon as we noticed he couldnt run we pushed more up that left hand side
Cracking video tom really enjoyed it... absolutely spot on and fair assessment 👏... nothings changed my opinion that your by far the best team we've played home and away and you'll definitely be top 3 in may... regards us in the 2nd half, that's what we've done all season, I'll admit yeah we got it wrong 1st half it just wasn't working for us and yes you played absolutely fantastic 👏 but in most games we adjust if needed and go up a gear 2nd half. I think anyone would struggle to find a team in league 2 with a more relentless press than ours or a better team out of possession tom.... good luck for rest of the season pal and hopefully we'll both be in league 1 next year 🤞
Walsall fan here. We swapped lakin for mcentee putting stirk and mcentee holding and blocking crawley and mcgoldrick. Jellis went into the number 10 role. Pushed our wing backs further forward because we had stirk and mcentee holding The fact that our first half was a fatigued performance that was massive factor. The press in the first half wasn't good enough
Walsall second half subs are remind me of South African Rugby teams " bomb squad. Winning the physical battle virtually guaranteed . When you think how much more physical the back 3 and Abbott are than last season Walsall are formidable.

You don't like one because you find two lads in their 20s childish, you don't like the other because you think people should be able to say whatever they want on message boards. Personally, I dont know what was said there, but I also don't think a TH-cam channel of that nature is the place for anything offensive. Think there's absolutely places for people to express themselves freely about football (I do it all the time), but TH-cam channels are public forums. I think people need to accept that there are different Notts tribes, some that will be to their taste and others that won't. Doesn't make something woke just because someone doesn't like it. But we're all Notts aren't we ⚫️⚪️
notts county are easily the best footballing team in the league thought mcgoldrick was excellent in both games.We (walsall) are very good at letting the other team have the first half while we figure them out and then winning the second half
@MichaelMorley-uk5el His pace doesn't matter, if he has pacier players around him, as he can pick a pass, and his quality means he finds space, which buys him time.
Not watched it yet but my non technical analysis would be sub off the smaller guys and get the big powerful player on that's what changed the game for me. Just made it harder to keep everybody in check with much smaller physically weaker Notts players.

It was clear momentum was lost ten minutes into the 2nd. Surly a more experienced manager tries to counter their subs.

Think that's harsh, numerous games he's made changes that have worked and turned game in our favour
