I think the tactics from Gasperini were great but nothing really special to be fair but what impressed me was how intense the team opperate over the whole game. They were so aggressive and so physical that Leverkusen really panic as the game went on.

The key was really in Boniface, he should have started the game to duel with Hien, if Boniface could win some balls there, they could caught Atalanta behind their midfield´s back and have all the space. Very good game and very well played by Atalanta, by their road to the finals, both teams were deserving of the trophy, this was one of the best Europa League finals for me.

You can gain any ground if the opposition decides to start mindlessly press even the GK as well, but would be stupid to do so...

What people don't know is that Gasparini didn't sleep the night before. He was working on all possible tactics against Leverkusen. Even Atalanta was not this aggressive against Liverpool. But one thing I saw is that they were very patient in waiting for defensive mistakes to happen which they did.
This and Atalanta's first game vs Liverpool were two of the best defensive performances I've seen in a very long time. Xabi got it all wrong though. From the back three, to not starting Andrich and ultimately for waiting until halftime to change things. Boniface should have entered the field way earlier.
