IDK if its booze or drugs, but he aint the same. ..i know he's getting old but theres got to be other factors. .. not many pros from the 90s are still progressing in the sport. Daewon Song isnt human. 46yrs old and still pumping out NBDs like nothing. gotta respect that

When I use to skate with Andrew in Lakeland before he left to California. I remember asking Andrew to do a front side flip over the handrail with my new camcorder and he did it first try. I was so amaze but I didn't know he was going to be big as he is. I'm so proud of him!!!

You notice how most people's favorite skaters were people on FLIP? I have always stood by in saying that Flip was by far the best skateboarding team ever. Back in 2006-2008 Flip probably had the best active roster of all time. Geoff Rowley, PJ Ladd, Ali Boulala, Arto Saari, Tom Penny, Bob Burnquist, Lance Mountain, Alex Chalmers, Rune Glifberg, Shane Cross R.I.P., David Gonzales, Luan Oliviera. It really was truly an All-Star roster. They could make a Tony Hawk game and only have people from Flip and it would kick ass.
Tom had the best style. Growing up skating in San Diego in the 90s We got to skate some of the spots he helped make famous like the Earl Warren down hill line he did and the infamous chain to bank in Point Loma and the Carlsbad gap. Really gave you a feel for just how gnarly he really was.
Reynolds is the best man. Him and Penny have always been in my top 3. When I met him at vans hb he came straight up to me and my buddy when we were waiting on top of the quarter. Greeted us, Shook our hands, asked what's up, and preceded to flow like I'd never seen. He tried a bs flip (can't remember on what) and the whole park literally froze even though he didn't land it. Such a class act

Tom Penny is so good it almost doesn't seem real. He's like the Picasso of skateboarding. When he skates it looks like he's floating. He skates like I would imagine I skated in my dreams... It make so much sense now with Reynold's kickflips and frontside flips... That Etnies High-5 video always gives me chills watching it... You're watching a master at work. I was fifteen when it came out in 1995. That year or the next was the same year I was getting my mind blown watching Welcome to Hell at the local skate shop in SoCal when some dude with a low british accent behind me said, "Sick vid huh mate?". It was Tom Penny (with Chad Muska).. And I just said, "yeah". Totally starstruck little kid. Best skater ever period.

Man.. i've been watching skate vids since the mid 90's. Too lazy to attempt to come up with even a top 10.. That being said, Reynolds was ALWAYS awe inspiring, just how much of a perfectionist he was. Easily #1 when it comes to "steez" and legendary on my list.
