      I’m a high school golfer who goes to a Trackman place after school. My best is 84 so I think it depends on if you are used to it or not, because I’m obviously not a pro, I’m a 1 handicap.

    Running the Combine was my favorite aspect of a Trackman when I used to have access to one. It definitely takes into account both distance (carry only) and side-to-side deviation from the center line. And it's fucking HARD. I'm a low single digit handicap (ended 2021 as a 3.2) and my highest Combine score ever was 70.7. Lowest was 58.6. It's all the wedge distances I struggle with. Anything that gives me a full swing and I'm butter, but the 100 and less...I'm a mess.
    74.9 on your first attempt, just learning it, is a great score. Look forward to seeing these on the regular!

    Watching you at your wedge distances allows me to feel more comfortable using my 56 at 100 yard vs muscling up the 60. You still got me with the longer clubs by like 5 yards or more as you get to the driver. I’m a 8-10 handicap but been playing for years.. sometimes those small realizations can make the 2-4 shot difference. Which is so huge

  • @kamkhan999
    @kamkhan999 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    The average TrackMan Combine score for PGA TOUR and Euro- pean PGA Tour members is 84.3 with a standard deviation of 3.5. Barring tough conditions such as strong, gusty winds you can expect a Tour Professional to score in the 80s. That means on average that all 60 shots of the TrackMan Combine will be above 80 points
    there you go

    • @jamesdempsey8365
      @jamesdempsey8365 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's not quite right. Assuming a normal distribution, you'd expect 11% of shots to fall below 80 points. That would be 6 or 7 shots out of 60. You'd expect no shots to be 75 or below.
      Not much to go off to defy statistics here but I'd be surprised if the average tour pro really did score in line with that distribution. I'd imagine shots below 75 do happen more often than the numbers suggest.
      All that is to say that a few mediocre shots aren't the end of the world, even for tour pros.

    One thing to note when setting up the combine is to split the drives apart (as you never hit multiple drives in a row on course). Also it would be good to mix the yardages up, instead of going up in increments as again that would be how it would be like on course
    Keep up the good work

    Getting distance perception is so much harder on a simulator when you just get a number to hit, compared to having a flag and a green in front of you.

    • @raymondbenavidez5712
      @raymondbenavidez5712 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      He’s good enough just to go off of feel. Cause he knows the feeling of a “smooth” 7 iron that will be on the button rather than a “full” 8. I agree, I’d rather see a target and how my ball flies but they’re just hitting feel shots when on the course cause that’s what they practice and they also have everyone watching their ball for them

    • @929mmr
      @929mmr 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Definitely not for me. For starters the consistent lie from a simulator is a big plus. I find the number easier to get to than the visual but then I have lousy eyesight. Distances on a simulator just become more which club and how far back do you take it. I play a lot of simulator in the winter and wish I could play it a couple times a month during the summer to help my real game. Alignment is easier and there is so much feedback on swing path and launch angles. Having a great simulator like that, these guys are living my dream.

    Watching Tig hit those shots, I think back to all of the videos I’ve watched with some kind of simulator being used, and the screen…….god I’m just realizing watching him swing how much of a beating that screen actually takes. I dream of having my own golf simulator, it would be great if my parents were into the golf game because I could guarantee we would have something, but I’m trying to get into golf and having something like this would be great to practice instead of going out and looking dumb. That’s my biggest fear and I try to self learn everything but I will admit that I am totally open for coaching. That’s why I like these kinds of videos of like at a driving range, top golf or now the Trackman, I can watch swings and see where I need to work on it

      Only issue with gc quad is that it is primarily used to track the golf ball and not necessarily club data. Also, I have used both and having to put the reflective dots every time I hit got annoying, especially since you have to take them off every time you play an event. Overall trackman is still better for development I think, gc quad is better at gathering instant data

    Easy 7 iron @ 180- that’s interesting... It would also be interesting to see the iron lofts and gapping through the bag. That’s would be the L&L on a machine, not the factory spec.

    • @brentmeister1072
      @brentmeister1072 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Ll L It appears those are strongly lofted irons. There are some tour players who will de-loft the irons by bowing their left wrist and generating a bunch of shaft lean through impact. I slowed Tig’s swing down and his left wrist is flat to slightly cupped- I’m going to go back to his fitting video and see if there were any dynamic loft readings- this has my curiosity peaked. Easy 7 iron @ 189 would put him in the high range of tour average for 7 iron

    • @brentmeister1072
      @brentmeister1072 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @gripitripitchipit 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hard for me to tell from the video but if he's using the Callaway TCB clubs he got, I believe those are actually a little weaker lofted and he did a range session where he said the distance was a little less than the clubs he had before, but the control was better. He just hits it a long way and generates incredible speed without looking like it.

    Doubtful you’ll read this, but I am a fan of the channel. Garret doesn’t beat you on the tee; on the approach or around the green, he beats you by sinking every important putt he needs to make, he is the most consistent putter on you tube hands down probably. Maybe we don’t see it, and my opinion is just an outside Monday morning QB observation, but if you worked on your putting as much as your ball striking, which doesn’t need much work; you’d crush him, which is what we all want to see, both on the one on one matches and the good good matches. Every single pro will tell you putting is where the money is made. The rat makes his putts, simple.
