Shame you can't fire in melee, since all come in to melee so fast range units lose use really fast, even in Total War Warhammer games you can fire in melee that is so far my only minus for game
The concern may be that if ranged units can shoot in combat why would anyone ever bother with melee units. Ranged units would be able kill you as you approach, when you cannot hit them, and then continue to kill you even when you do reach them.
@@RB-Cpt.Chakax-e3c no chance to defend from range attack if you alreeady in melee, in Totall War Warhammer is good to get range unit to side or back of enemy force that fight and just whipe them out. Also you still need melee units to hold the line.
It does indeed. The only other value I can think of is that it would allow you to slightly outrange enemy artillery. As the AI never moves artillery you can just sit there beyond their reach and shoot them but given the 'protected crew' ability this may take like 10 turns if you're unlucky.
@@RB-Cpt.Chakax-e3c Depends how many Grobi are there and how deep their ranks are ;-P Ultimately the limiting factor is the beer supply. 🍺🍺🍺 Keep it up and grobi heads will go flying anyway!
That's great, I'm hopeful these videos can lend a hand to those starting out, the game is well worth getting into if the initial learning curve can be handled.
*Legally distinct* fantasy battles. In truth most of the concepts aren't owned by anyone, elves / dwarves / medieval humans / orcs all have been around for a long time.
@ true enough, but the dwarf unitset is remarkably similar to the dwarves in fantasy(specifically the use of flame cannons alongside ballista and catapults) as well as the dice system. The human units appear to be very similar to the empire as well. I’m not saying this is a bad thing, I actually enjoy it being made so readily available through a video game, I just want it to be very clear this is based on Warhammer’s game system.

Loving the videos cant wait for more.
Thank you very much, glad you are enjoying it.
Once again you hit it out of the park with great explanations and content! Keep rocking and rolling my friend!
Thank you kindly, will do.
I am 9 seconds into the video and the Diggy Diggy Hole intro has earned my Like. It also sets a hig bar for the remaining 53 minutes =)
Thank you very much. That particular mind worm isn't going away any time soon.
Haha! Yes drifting on the cannon!
Drifting cannons in the running for best in game.
Flame cannon + rune of speed is a lot of fun!
I'm hopefully to pick one up in the run, we'll see that we get.
Been waiting for this one!
The cannons shall reward your patience.

@@koca987 @koca987 If everyone will just take ranged units due to them being better what exactly would melee units be holding against?
Range increase on Bolt Thrower seams pointless, but, doesn't it also increase, the half range he 4+ shots?

Lets Diggy Holes !
Old but gold, much like dwarves and their interests.
UUH! Shiny! Dawi´s turn now. Hold me beer, gotta arrange me arty! For Bugman! Show those grobi trash who´s boss!
How many goblins can a cannonball splatter in one shot do you think?

deep rock and alcohol, brother.🎇🎇 And intro music is great, what it is?
It's an old clip from Yogscast that became a fan song that became an official song, 'I am a dwarf and I am digging a hole'.
Wind Rose did a great metal cover of the song btw!

@@markb6978 I seriously considered using that one for the intro. The original won out but both are excellent.
If you have couple of same units, with different upgrades, you can rename them, so it's easier to tell them apart.
I could certainly rename the bolt throwers to split them, though checking their abilities isn't too much of a hassle.

DL'ing now. EDIT: Game REALLY needs a tutorial.

So this is just a video game version of Warhammer Fantasy?
