I love these, not only illustrates how they do it but the problems they may find along the way, the further post to catch the fire raft was genius, kinda like mordern spaced armor. Fortification an all, being raided at night should have been a terrifying experience.
Found this channel through your Roman Legions Camp video, gotta say it's a very informative and creative use of Age of Empires. Do you have any plans to branch out to other points in history using other games?
Thank you for your kind comment. For now I'm going to focus on historical periods that I can represent with Age of Empires 2, be it Rome or any other civilization.
This is fantastic. Coming across this channel and already hooked. Fun fact: bridge-crashing rafts was one of the reasons Napoleon lost the battle of Aspern-Essling.
Thank you very much. The truth is that the Aoe2 editor allows you to do quite a few things. I wish we had formations like in Total War, but you can't ask for everything... 😉
I simulate this by laying down sea tower foundations, having villagers work on them, and within seconds replacing the foundations with a bridge section.
@@historyforgamers You're welcome! With the last video about the roman camp you inspired me to make a new little film on age of mythology retold using its editor
This reminds me of the Roman Legion building an epic ramp at the Siege of Masada. Outstanding Engineering at the time to win a battle otherwise though hopeless. This is a video suggestion. hint hint.
2:22 I don't understand, barbarians know how to make explosion? I heard that anient romans invented gunpowder (something that's similar), not sure this is right or not.
How did these rafts cause damage? Surely they didn't explode 😅 I assume a bridge that can withstand a legion marching would not buckle under some rafts colliding with it.
@@marielle-q9j I think I got fed up with the difficulty of making the videos, and it was noticeable in the final result. Making the battle map, placing the units, and managing two computers at the same time (one of them quite slow) took a lot of work and a lot of hours placing, moving, and repeating the battle that were not reflected in the video views. I don't rule out going back to battles, but I would have to find another way of doing them that is more comfortable for me. For now, I'm much happier making somewhat simpler videos, using only one computer.
can i use your videos and dub in brazilian portuguese? i dont want to monetize the videos, its only to educational porpouse. sorry for bad english. love the format, is awsome! (and for the question ahead, if you accept, i will make a new fresh chanel and report you about everything!)
I appreciate the comment but I would prefer that you do not use my videos even if it is not to monetize them. I just modified the video subtitles to include Brazilian portuguese. See if they work for you.

Love the format, is learning with videogames, but taken to another level, amazing!
Thanks for the comment!
Love how the cavalry just stood over two days on the other side. Their buts must hurt quite a lot!
😅😅😅
By Age of Empires timescale that would've been 20 years lol
first time a creator made me sub after one video. This was a smart and interesting way to teach these things.
Thank you very much for your sub and welcome!
ikr i instantly subed love how they did it
Takes me back to year 8 history where i did an assignment by playing the el cid campaign and took screenshots. 👌
I just discovered your channel and I love it. Great job in leveraging Age of Empires engine for doing these videos
Thanks, I'm glad you like them.
This is too good to not be a feature of AOE

@@historyforgamersI could maybe see AOE3 used for battles with a more heavy focus on gunpowder.
I loved the idea you put here, great work.
Thank you! ☺️
Please more of this format ❤
Of course! ☺️

amazing work, love this format and I am learning so much
Great to hear! Thanks!
The scout does not need to rest 😂
Now this is a neat idea for AOE2 content.
if this is fan produced, it is brilliant. if it is produced by the company, it is still brilliant, but expected
I'm 100% a fan, I wish I worked for the company 😅
I can totally see you utilizing some of the Total War engines to make these videos. Love what you're doing, very creative.

Very neat. How did you make the villagers build bridge sections?
I simulate this by laying down sea tower foundations, having villagers work on them, and within seconds replacing the foundations with a bridge section.
@ Cool thanks for the explanation. Looks great!
Awesome video - Please make more of those !
Thanks! I'm already on the next one 😉
interesting format!
I feel bad for the scouts sitting on their horses in that spot for two days and nights xD
0:10 who else remembers moonwalk pikeman bug?
very cool, love this :)
The cost of one bridge ;
10 romans
100 barbarians
10,000 trees 😂
the actual dmg was for the environment
I hope that battle of Greece adds Romans and other civilizations in the future.
Me too 🤞🏼
4:46 imagine a demo camping under the bridge
This is what it felt like to play Age of Empires in the 90s. Learning history while playing
Iike how the scouts just sat on their hors chilling on the other side for days :))
It would be great if you made a movie with the civilizations of the "battle for Greece".
Yes, that's what I wanted to do in one of the next videos.
HG I'm a new subscriber, I just wanted to know if you will make more videos on Age of Empires 2 Roman Legions😊
Yes, I will make more videos about Rome and the legions. Thank you and welcome!
I was half expecting at the end it would pan to their being another river that required a bridge to cross.
Actually just the same river looped back the other way, scouts didn't catch that they could have just gone round
I m impressed on presentation
You should check out the Rome At War mod. There a Caeser campaign amd one mission is bridging the Rhine
I'm using the Rome at War mod for these videos but I haven't played that campaign.
how did they multiple? it's not like they can breed inside the camp
great video!
Thanks! 😃

No, neither the barbarians nor the Romans knew about gunpowder. I explain it in the video description😉.
What's funny is I knew All the voice and music from aom and civ 3
There is a Barbarian Unit i dont know. Which mod is it from?
The mod is Rome at War.

Age of Empires 2 Definitive Edition.
Nice

Wait, there are Roman Legionaires in AOE2?!
Wouldn't it be safer to store the wood within camp? Everyone that went out to protect that wood died.
Dried wood is extremely flammable. As such its much safer storing it outside the camp with minimal protection so to minimize the impact of any raids
Çok başarılı tebrik ederim.
