    I got a box full of old m.u.s.c.l.e men from my uncle when I was like 5. I remember having them for a day and then somehow they all went missing. That feeling of regret has stuck for 20 years

      They were cool. I'm thinking about collecting them again. My favorite was the hand grenade guy from the jungle fighters set. I always thought of him as kind of a psych o

    Battle Beasts were the best. Had so many of them. My Mum did the unforgivable and gave all my toys (including my Battle Beast collection) to my next door neighbour when I moved to Australia after High School. So expensive now, and shipping to NZ is even more so. Can’t believe that I only found out they were related to Transformers a few months ago.

    I love this video. My mum passed away recently and watching this reminded me how many of the M.U.S.C.L.E figures she bought for me. They were from car boot sales so I never knew what they were from until I saw this, and it took me right back. So good to see. Thanks Theo.

    I don’t have that many things that have survived purge cleaning and decluttering over the years…but I’ll never let my battle beasts go. I used to buy them when they were cheap and glue magnets to them to put on my fridge. Little pieces of art. ⭐️

  • @Schlelkohov

    As a 2000 kid I feel like I had a sort of unique experience in seeing the evolution of the toys of my era, while also being introduced to the lines that preceded them through 2008 Pixel Dan. Being in a smaller town with a healthy flea market meant I did eventually run into used classics like McDonald's food Mchangeables, but never Battle Beasts, wasn't until I was a teen with my first job I ordered my favorites and two bases, and frankly I'm glad I did before the pandemic.
    While I'd say it's true the style of minifigures of the 80's and 90's aren't nearly as prevalent, I'd say they advanced with the times in some areas while others captured aspects of their precursors. The (pre-funko) vinyl boom of the earliest half of the 2000's gave us the vibrant deco'd resurgence of Crazy Bones, 2010's the revival of gross-out in the Trash Pack and it's later clones, haven't been as observant in the 2020's but we do have Mega Gross Minis, which are tiny twisted parodies of the licensed Mini Brands toys caked in maggots, sludge, and viscera

    • @Schlelkohov
      @Schlelkohov 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      As for the minifigures that advanced with the times, Lego's design has been a classic since the 70's, but I'd say Mega Bloks has consistently wiped the floor with their oil-washed and chromed Krystal Wars warriors, marble-ball folding Neo Shifter pilots, and incredibly detailed hand-painted Halo minis. These days they're made of a softer material, have removable armor, and marbled plastics, though I prefer their simpler 2008-2014 designs, as they tended to have that Monster In My Pocket bright color shade throughout.
      Likewise Hasbro gave us Transformers Kreons, Lego-compatible minifigures of their iconic characters nobody bought the full sets for, though my personal favorites after the Halo minis were the Zerboz Military micro figures, static soft army men with minimal blobby paint, but a really innovative brick-shaped box you could use as a rooftop or on it's side for a garage. The lid became a plank you could use to make bridges across the roofs or panels to make roads with from block to block depending on the details of inner molding. each soldier came with one bit of debris too, whether it was a barbed fence, rubble, or a dead tree. Super easy to amass and get a city out of but the lack of imagery on the outer packaging really tanked their sales, hope to hijack the concept for my own minis someday haha

    • @Schlelkohov
      @Schlelkohov 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      And an honorable shoutout to the grocery store coin machine underdogs that satiated my small plastic itch in stuffy department stores-
      Chinese restaurant Ninjas, generic 'War Robots' that were soft miniatures of headless mecha for a quarter a pop, 1$ Orbots which were model kits that came in a ball you'd break up to build, and The Toy Factory Shop's 50-cent Mermaid DIY Mini Assorted, which while for girls also had the Orbot's model kit twist-off trees, along with stickers to change the style of their anime eyes and a stand to prop them up on

    I have a few zombies I found at a dollar store. I was able to get 5 different guys. The glow in the dark, and you can grow em in water. I like to grow toys in water and then let them dry up into a crusty fucked up version of what it once was. I got my love of this toy feature from a pack of gremlins I got as a kid. I remember I grew a Spike and a Gizmo, and when I shrunk down the Spike, he was crazy looking. I was a funny kid, so I made a shrine to him, and made my other toys worship him.

      Carboots are when people pitch up in a field and sell house hold items from their car boots, but most of them are one off sellers who are just moving some junk they want to get rid off, flee markets are more regular traders who do it for a living, we do seem to be one of the only countries that have em, crazy!

    Your language is that of a 10 year old trying to be edgy. The irony of your warning, not for children, proceeds to talk like a child... just so you know. When ever you use the F word, there’s is a better word you could use instead, the f word is like a crutch for people who can’t think for themselves. Swearing is more childish than adult...

      I feel sorry for people like u who think their opinions are fact....we speak how we speak dont judge us for not being "eloquent" we are products of our enviroment and where we come from "swearing" is part of our language, we spoke like this before "edgy" was even a term so why dont u focus ur attention on something positive n stop being such a negative nancy.....🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
