Even before you said it I was thinking the V1s as well. The V2s are just a hard sell based on features at 440 dollars if you have V1s already. I would probably spend the extra coin and get at set of FatShark HD0.

Solid review -- getting the "full experience summary" is critical in a good review -- we want to see you show us the new stuff when it comes out, but we also want to know your personal experiences over time. I think doing clips like this one is excellent
This was a great follow up comparison, thank you! I really appreciate your honesty here. I've owned both sets of these goggles, and I feel like other that the screen size, they are basically the same goggles. I did switch back to my HD2's, but both of these options are killer and folks will love them.
Stu-thanks for your honest reviews! Only 6 months experience into FPVs. When I wanted to make an upgrade from Box Googles to "regular" goggles I watched your reviews and noticed what you were flying with (Aomway V1s at the time). After deliberating for a while between waiting for Eachine EV200Ds to come out or to "pull the trigger" on the Aomway V1s, I decided to go with the Aomway V1s. this was months ago. Very happy I did! I have not regretted the purchase at all. I love the fact that they are so lightweight and comfortable. Oh yeah, and the price is within reason! Thanks again for your honest reviews!

I've recently purchased the Aomway V1's and I absolutely love em. It'll take some getting used to as I was using an Eachine EV800D box goggles. I also just purchased a pair of Fatshark V3 goggles, which I found similar as the Aomway V1's, but I think the Aomway's have a better/ clearer picture. They also have a better value as the Fatshark's only has single channel receiver while the Aomway's have diversity/ 2 receivers. I think I will be using the Aomway V1's for a long time. 😁 Thank you Stew for your helpful reviews!
Thanks Stew. You're videos have really heped me get into this awesome hobby. I ended up getting a Wizard about 6 months ago which came w/ some pretty average box goggles. I've been sitting on the fence for some time now about getting a decent pair of goggles . If Bangood or ebay have a decent EOFY sale and I can somehow justify the investment with the finance department (mrs) i'll be getting either the v1 Aomways or the new Flysight Falcon FG01.

Ive been wanting to go with a little lighter goggle with a 16:9 ratio for quite some time and without the hefty prices. The V1 is or I think my go to goggle and ive did some hella research plus the good word that I think thousands have given to these goggles is that they're worth my pretty penny. This makes me happy! I Upgraded from domi v1 to aomway v1 then 1 week later the aomway v2 were released. I have had nothing but a great experience, even found my quad using the dvr ...epic. To be worthy of such a high price the next gen needs to be night and day difference. When you got a great product dont supersede it accessorise it! Let have mods galore! How about new designer shells, funky straps and that kind of jazz. And now is a good time for a commander ground station! Great review Stu!

The Commander v1 is stupidly comfy. The strap over the head and weight distribution (battery behind the head) really helps keep them exactly where I want them.

Been watching all your videos and don't normally comment but thought I would put my opinion in. I just got myself the V1s a couple days ago and put the menace invader patch on as well and they are so good. I was a bit concerned as I been flying with the ev800 box goggles for so long and loved how big the screen was as fov is different but so glad I made the change they are are amazing and the range is perfect :)

Good re-review. It's not like your saying the V2's are bad, they are indeed very good, your personal preference is your old pair as you have got used to them and it's your preference. I don't think that's a bad thing to say at all.
It was obvious from your V1 review how much you and GT love the V1's, and the fact both of you are still flying them.
Would @Grumpy Trev want to upgrade if money was no object?
Ive had mine for almost a year and still love them, I have used several antennas and by far the best combo is (Menace invader with VAS Minion) I have also added a power switch so you dont have to plug/unplug so much.
Still like my v1's.
If you really MUST have a module (like Clearview or FuriousFPV) then you could use Dock-King as a ground station with a and feed the video in from external. However, I've found the inbuilt receiver perfectly fine.
I went with V1s just about as V2s were to be released and I didn't think I'd regret that purchase as everyone loved V1s, but now I'm actually even more glad I didn't wait :) I just had the power cable fail on me after about 2-3 weeks and what surprised me is this still seems to happen on V2s. But it's easy to fix/replace.
Glad you gave the v-1 the extra thumbs up as I bought the v-1 before I knew the v-2 came out. And yes I’m happy with the v-1.

Yoh, I purchased the V1ns on your recommendation and have found them to be great. I to like the 16/9 screen and deffo wouldn't be prepared to spend the extra on the v2s as from what I can see the price difference doesn't quantify what your getting.
You may want to do an update on the Furibee Nebula 230 as I just got the drone and it seems like Furibee listened to the community. They fixed the wiring and voltage display. At least on mine they did. I would greatly appreciate it even if you just put it in the description of your video so more beginners like me don't become worried about buying the drone. I was worried I'd have to do some solder work but that wasn't the case.

I've started carrying a roll of paracord and some big heavy carabiniers for getting drones down from trees. You don't have to land a direct hit like you do with a water bottle, just loop it over the tree and shake it until the drone falls.

Hey Stu, you guys should keep a wide mouth bottle with a paracord in it in your sack. Then you can fill it with dirt and tie the cord onto the neck for drone retrieval.
I like my v1 but a bigger FOV sounds great, even in 16/9 mode there are 41° FOV left if i didn't wrong.
Hi Stu . . . can I clear up my understanding here . . . . . You say the option for 16:9 merely crops the screen and so am I correct in thinking if using a 16:9 camera, the screen can be changed to 16:9 dimension by cropping but is still displaying in 4:3 and the image is still therefore squeezed?? Is this also true of the V1 which is 16:9 natively but supposedly can display in 4:3 - if using a 4:3 camera, and displaying in 4:3 mode, does it simply produce a stretched 16:9 image which is cropped at the sides?? I need to get a clear understanding on this before I leap in and buy. Many thanks . . .
Thanks for this. I was feeling the same after reading specs. There biggest thing for me is why the f did they go to 4:3 only. Seems really dumb. You need some bigger trees. We got a quad out yesterday from a hundred for tree.

Hey Stew. With the Aomway Commander v1 do you run a 4:3 camera on your uav or a 16:19? If you run the 4:3 do you notice any of the picture stretching or cut off when viewing in the Commander v1?
Nah I’m sticking with my LOS goggles you did the review of. By far the best FOV on the market.

I got a Dji Inspire 1 V2, I wanna buy fpv goggles for my dji but I also wanna get into drone racing, I wanna get something to use it on both, so is the Aomway Commander V1 FPV Goggle with DVR and Head Tracker is gonna work on the DJI, thru hdmi connection?, would the Aomway work on the Inspire 1?, keep up the great content thanks.

Getting quad down from 5m high tree is hard? Damn, it's Australia, you have much more challenging stuff to do for entertainment. Getting quad out from your stinging trees wearing only shorts and T-shirts. Or survive after being bitten by aussie paralysis tick or some subtle but very deadly venomous spider during trying to shake quad down from tree. Or avoiding getting gutted by kangaroos because you accidentally crashed into some kangaroo alpha male with 5" racer a minute earlier and angry two-legged rat is now chasing Cal criss-cross over the field. You now have some ideas to expand :D
I've had the V1's for a little over a year after reading Stu's review. My only complaint is the foam face thing breaks down very fast and delaminates. Maybe I have acid nose grease? I've needed to replace it every few months. They are cheap but...anyone know of a really good solid replacement?

good night health a question I have a glasses aomway but the dvr was spoiled sele can put a dvr of that eachine pro ?????
Main reason why I prefer the V2 is that 32 degree FOV is already quite small and when using a 4:3 cam it gets even smaller. I am using the Runcam Micro in all my minis and I don't want to replace them.

For the price ill stick with my v1 havent had any problems with them they are a little big for my face i just put a little more foam on them. They were 300 when i bought them

i really thought about getting the V2s...but then i found good used HD3s on ebay so i bought them XD and its a complete difference to the eachine box goggles i had before :D i feel more confident when flying because everything is better visible.. Bonus content is fun xD .. probably shaking out 20 spiders from that tree but not the kwad :D lol
