So I just upgraded from Goggles two echine's to a set of Commander v1's in part to your review and OMG what a difference. Cleaner, clearer image and i don't need glasses or diopters to see well. Smaller image ya but the quality makes it worth everything a massive difference. To anybody on the fence or doesn't want to fork out the money sight unseen they are definitely worth it. Hello, i am also moving from quanum v2 pro and quanum 5.8 diversity, i like them just the size, Are they really that close to the commander v1 or is the FOV a big difference, thanks are you still using the aomways? How are they holding up?

I love my Flysight SpeXman02's. A lot of people discount them because they have a foresight camera built in. But the goggles themselves have better picture quality than Fatsharks, battery lasts much longer(& you can put the battery in your pocket) and they provide much less interference on the stock antenna. I use them to fly my Phantom 4 Pro and have been out well over 2 miles with zero break up or interference. Thanks for sharing your experience with these! 👍
i just got mine last week also coming from a box goggle the having to adjust them when you first place them is a bit annoying but the reception and quality is great
I noticed u have been using the tattu batteries for a while. How do they.compare with the hobbyking Graphene batteries in terms of life cycles? AFAIK Graphene has more cycles compare with normal lipo
Seem just fine to me. I highly doubt there is actually anything different about "graphene" labeled batteries. At least no graphene in them, but rather coated layers.
Great flying as usual. One thing there are loops on the side of the head band to hold the wires. I use the strap that goes over your head. It makes way more comfortable for me with it. There's a lot of good information in the manual on how to set up the dvr to auto record and other adjustments.
Hey man I have commanders also. Have you had any issues with the barrel plug for the battery? After a while I get random power offs where I’ll be flying and I get a beep and screen goes black until I power cycle it. Just wondering if you have experienced any of that. Oh and my stock cable for the balance connector literally burned up. I have been using the tattu 2s goggle battery so far and it’s been good
Yeah, my input has been getting a bit jacked up sometimes :( However changing to a different battery seemed to make it work, which makes no sense at all. I used a 4s 1550 instead of a 3s 2200 and I could move it all around without shutting off. And I am using a regualtor cable to give them 8v anyways.
The RCAddict I experimented a bit with it today and jiggled the cable and shook the goggles and got it to shut off every time. What I found was when the barrel connector jiggled or turned at a certain angle and whatever it would cut Power for a split second so what I did was solder a 25v 100uf cap to the board where barrel connector is inside the goggles and I did the same shaking and jiggling and it didn’t power off anymore I’m guessing the cap can act as a momentary battery for that split second where the voltage drops.
Man, it's a beautiful place where you live... Remembers me my parents farm a bit, but there's like a mountain in another mountain in another mountain... LOL

How did you manage to curplopit in the fire with all that greenage around you??? Would like to see if crash detetion/recovery feature coming in betaflight 3.2 would have saved it....Ill take your quanums..that would a great starter pair for me!!
Nice one! I hope that companies can make more of their goggles with a min/max IPD range that's better for everyone. The range on these Aomway goggles (and a lot of the FatShark models) is 59-69mm. Maybe even at least a 57-72mm range would probably help a lot of pilots with eyes just under or over this range to get a better focused image. Even my Oculus Rift CV1 headset has a range of 58-72mm and it is most comfortable for me at the lower 58-59mm setting.
I think it was a great idea to post this for those moving from an economical box style to fat shark style goggles. It's good to give the expectation that the real change is form factor not necessarily image quality. I love my Eachine goggle two image but am ready to move to a smaller goggle.

crimsonfancy skyzone v+ were £270 and it took me 20mins to add a fatshark faceplate with fan. better image quality by reviews I've seen, although DVR quality is crap.
Did you still use those Commander V1? How good they are? I have a wish to get some decent binocular 16:9 googles with diversity and DVR under 400$ - maybe you may recommend something? Coworker got his Aomway-s a week ago. In comparing with my current EV800D box googles Commander V1 are much lighter, have brighter and sharper picture and handle VTX signal disruptions better. OSD and 2-4S battery type support are awesome. However I can't get away from a little blurry around picture at both ends or if I'm trying to adjust IPD to opposite side - in middle. Seems I need correction lenses. 8:55 - crashed with style :) You can earn an extra buck by helping electrician to clean out branches under power lines. I got hard crashed in trees earlier too particularly with 2" micro brushless who ended in flames (ESC fire) and GepRC LX5 flying tank who cut all branches in way and remained unscratched.

Because coworker started to complaint about Aomways that they doesn't fit on his face well (he is big and tall guy with large head) maybe I even buy them from him :) By the way as I noticed, breakups on short signal disruption are processed quite nice - with floating lines over screen. Picture in my EV800 and EV800D begin to jerk and disappear which cause quite a confusion. If I may ask, how long you learned to fly? From what I see it seems some 2-3 years with very often flying.
I did have the screens break after over a year, but emailing aomway I was able to pay $7 for a replacement part. Still love them and haven't liked any others that I have tried, especially HDO
8:55 Best crash I so far I saw on youtube :). You cut down the tree lol! I have the eachine vr007. Cheapest of the cheapest googles :). 4.3 inch 480x272 res :). But I don't complain..I learned fpv no problem with them.. I just need to upgrade for higher res soon cause small details like wires and stuff are difficult to spot with them...

The one thing I'd wish they fix/adjust is the DVR only recording in 4:3. My Skyzone v02+ are exactly the same, and with pretty much the same feature set. The voltage reader is a nice addition too. Probably the same internals for all I know. :)
It doesn't really matter as SD 16:9 video is anamorphic anyways so just set the aspect to 16:9 when you play the video. You can always put the video streams in a .MKV and set the aspect ratio on the container to 16:9 and then it will always play back at 16:9 without re encoding.

when I first moved to Dom V3 from headplays I felt like I was looking at a postage stamp. after a day or so it became drastically better than the headplays.
Well I watched one of your videos where you compare the Flysight and Dom V3 in which you bash Fatshark (good job by the way and thanks for the honest review). Now that more and more goggles are coming out, which one do you recommend. Also, how's it going with the chinese listening to you regarding your product? PS. I floss.
The RCAddict trust me I love my eachine goggles. They do the job just fine! It's like you said, the only real advantage is the portability. Obviously quality is a huge factor with these types as well, but for noobs like me, it won't make me a better pilot. Only practice will 👍 I still want them though lol
Rcflyer 101 I've got quanum cyclops and I Love them but size is too big but that's the way she goes for this price. I've got blue Aomway antenna on them and reception is Awesome. I'm thinking about Aomways for next year. This Year still flying with cyclops :) great for new pilots and intermediete ones. For pros HD3s or Aomways commander for the price? Look like Aomways won this competition all the way.

I have the runcam swift and I got a black screen with my dragonfly VTX, and with the mini VTX the camera work fine, I know that the dragonfly VTX is work because I have two of them and its give me the same problem. I pretty sure the problem is something on the setting on the VTX or on the cam . How I fix that ? thanks! BTW love your videos!!!
good review. i was either going to get these or the Fat shark Attitude v4s but because i couldn't find the aomways anywhere i went with the v4s for my first non box style google. The single strap is kinda annoying but what i do is wear a hat backwards and it keeps them off my ears. I must say i was a little nervous for you when you were swinging them around at the beginning I was like I hope the sun doesn't get in them and burn those screens lol

smaller screens are gonna be hard for me to give up, i know its easier like computer games are easier on a smaller screen, but i'm never gonna be a great pilot or race seriously, but my main worry is my eyes need strong reading glasses to see the quanum screen... cant even imagine being able to focus two inches away.... eachine please send rcaddict some of the new ev800'd's... i need to know if they are better than a quanum boscam diversity set up.
Wow!!you really fast got the hang of the goggle in first time used.. im got lil dizzy in my 1st & 2nd using 2 screen goggle. Its kinda better then fs H3.. spacial bout the price is way more from the fs H3.. thought the quality still the same.. and the best is.. you dont need to buy an modul.. cous it build-in.
I don't appreciate fatshark as a company much. It has been 2 years and they have only made very slight changes to their goggles. Way past time they actually made something worth buying.
True.. at the end..its all about the marketing.really hate the way they install the module.. witch it course my friend fc v3 board got touched the by the module board because the gap between the board really that close.. thats why they do got a 3d printing spacer(an optional).. might say..if buying the fc goggle h3/v3 ext.. it not the thing that you can plug&play that came out of the box.. im glad aomway came out with same features .

I have a set of Fatshark Attitude, but it lacks DVR and diversity. I was all set to buy the Aomway. Great feature set for the price, but it is a no show for too long. Then the Skyzone SKY02S V+ goes on sale with coupon at Banggood for almost the same price. Better feature set, build quality and OSD channel scan bar chart. At the same price the Skyzone is a better deal. Sorry Aomway, my money when to Skyzone. Only feature missing on the Skyzone is a fan. I don't use the fan on my modded Attitude, so not a big deal for me.
Ridiculous how fatsharks cost more, and don't come with a RX or DVR. At the race the fan was a must for me, fogging up in high heat high humidity. Wouldn't buy any without

Sell me your Quantum goggles. I have the VR2 and I have tried all the hype goggles and I can't fly with them. Hate the small screens, blurry edges and looking down in a tunnel. I love my big screen I love looking around while flying. So if your Quantum goggles are still with you sell them to me please.

Actually ive tried fatsharks and these. to be honest these are really good. Fatsharks were one of the only goggles for a long time that were decent. Their high price now does not mean they are the best its just the brand thats been built up :) its like arguing why apple charges a fortune for their products :P There are plenty of brands that charge a fortune and are not always the best.
Bobby K yes true but still they have to of a low fov ...every other company beside fatshark have 30 or 32 fov witch for me is way to low. I will wait and see what the future will bring

That's the issue, NO ONE has them in stock lol. Can't even get a set direct from Aomway.

Also I’m going to test the 2s tattu fatshark battery and see if the barrel connector is better quality
Totally agree with you. I moved from VR D2's to the Commanders, never looked back. Had to wait like 3 months for them though....

I have a pair of these and have bought the head strap from Armattan and it made a hell of a difference on how they felt on my head.
I just wish they had a more curved shape, Little flat on my face.

If that is anything like glue mode in RaceFlight it might be possible, but not likely.

Yeah, it's quite a blue/green image. I turned green down and red up on mine.

What if he was using the Monster cam 16:9 to the goggles set to 16:9, the DVR is still only 4:3? :(
Yeah I noticed only 4:3 DVR. Doesn't matter to me, DVR sucks anyways lol
I bet if you fly a 16:9 camera it records 16:9, not sure though. I just prefer the image of a 4:3 stretched to 16:9, used to it I guess.
It doesn't on my Skyzones, and I run only 16:9 cameras. I doubt the Commander does it different, but who knows.

THX for the info on these especially comparison to box goggles i use echine goggles 2 so i wanted a perspective similar to my situation. Still gonna have to save to get a set though. i use the Eagle cam and not real happy with the image and cant seem to adjust to something i am happy with either, gonna try a monster next.

when I first moved to Dom V3 from headplays I felt like I was looking at a postage stamp. after a day or so it became drastically better than the headplays.
Well I watched one of your videos where you compare the Flysight and Dom V3 in which you bash Fatshark (good job by the way and thanks for the honest review). Now that more and more goggles are coming out, which one do you recommend. Also, how's it going with the chinese listening to you regarding your product?

The RCAddict trust me I love my eachine goggles. They do the job just fine! It's like you said, the only real advantage is the portability. Obviously quality is a huge factor with these types as well, but for noobs like me, it won't make me a better pilot. Only practice will 👍 I still want them though lol

Rcflyer 101 I've got quanum cyclops and I Love them but size is too big but that's the way she goes for this price. I've got blue Aomway antenna on them and reception is Awesome. I'm thinking about Aomways for next year. This Year still flying with cyclops :) great for new pilots and intermediete ones. For pros HD3s or Aomways commander for the price? Look like Aomways won this competition all the way.
Catching up on videos today after being out of town; it looks like the switch to goggles had no impact on your flying skills... HOWEVER, I don't need to remind you that TREE BRANCHES will have quite an impact! :))

I have the runcam swift and I got a black screen with my dragonfly VTX, and with the mini VTX the camera work fine, I know that the dragonfly VTX is work because I have two of them and its give me the same problem. I pretty sure the problem is something on the setting on the VTX or on the cam . How I fix that ?

might be an ntsc/pal selection problem... or a common ground problem,

good review. i was either going to get these or the Fat shark Attitude v4s but because i couldn't find the aomways anywhere i went with the v4s for my first non box style google. The single strap is kinda annoying but what i do is wear a hat backwards and it keeps them off my ears. I must say i was a little nervous for you when you were swinging them around at the beginning I was like I hope the sun doesn't get in them and burn those screens lol
Would have to be prolonged sun exposure to cause damage.
The RCAddict Oh really?? I had heard people say it only takes a few seconds of direct sunlight to cause damage. I don't plan on testing it so I guess im just being paranoid lol

smaller screens are gonna be hard for me to give up, i know its easier like computer games are easier on a smaller screen, but i'm never gonna be a great pilot or race seriously, but my main worry is my eyes need strong reading glasses to see the quanum screen... cant even imagine being able to focus two inches away.... eachine please send rcaddict some of the new ev800'd's... i need to know if they are better than a quanum boscam diversity set up.
Not going to be better, RF performance will be the same, it is just a nicer setup overall.
I read the Commander's do take diopter inserts, or you can DIY them or hit up an optometrist for custom lens inserts.
yeah i will need to ask around... it might be something silly like 10x magnification hehehe

Wow!!you really fast got the hang of the goggle in first time used.. im got lil dizzy in my 1st & 2nd using 2 screen goggle.
Its kinda better then fs H3.. spacial bout the price is way more from the fs H3.. thought the quality still the same.. and the best is.. you dont need to buy an modul.. cous it build-in.
I don't appreciate fatshark as a company much. It has been 2 years and they have only made very slight changes to their goggles. Way past time they actually made something worth buying.
True.. at the end..its all about the marketing.really hate the way they install the module.. witch it course my friend fc v3 board got touched the by the module board because the gap between the board really that close.. thats why they do got a 3d printing spacer(an optional).. might say..if buying the fc goggle h3/v3 ext.. it not the thing that you can plug&play that came out of the box.. im glad aomway came out with same features .

I have a set of Fatshark Attitude, but it lacks DVR and diversity. I was all set to buy the Aomway. Great feature set for the price, but it is a no show for too long. Then the Skyzone SKY02S V+ goes on sale with coupon at Banggood for almost the same price. Better feature set, build quality and OSD channel scan bar chart. At the same price the Skyzone is a better deal. Sorry Aomway, my money when to Skyzone. Only feature missing on the Skyzone is a fan. I don't use the fan on my modded Attitude, so not a big deal for me.
Ridiculous how fatsharks cost more, and don't come with a RX or DVR. At the race the fan was a must for me, fogging up in high heat high humidity. Wouldn't buy any without
HLMAX took me 20 mins to add a fan to my skyzone v+ really easy to do.

Sell me your Quantum goggles. I have the VR2 and I have tried all the hype goggles and I can't fly with them. Hate the small screens, blurry edges and looking down in a tunnel.
I love my big screen I love looking around while flying.
So if your Quantum goggles are still with you sell them to me please.

I think Fatshark are overpriced and could do so much better that they do. I would take these over any FS pair, even HDO.

Actually ive tried fatsharks and these. to be honest these are really good. Fatsharks were one of the only goggles for a long time that were decent. Their high price now does not mean they are the best its just the brand thats been built up :) its like arguing why apple charges a fortune for their products :P There are plenty of brands that charge a fortune and are not always the best.
Bobby K yes true but still they have to of a low fov ...every other company beside fatshark have 30 or 32 fov witch for me is way to low. I will wait and see what the future will bring
