- This video is very different from my others. It's just me talking to you, no studies, no charts, no links to science papers. Just me, sharing my experiences and talking about food, the debate between high protein and high fat misses the point, easy fasting strategies, alternative plans for people who have trouble eating a high fat diet, shopping where you can afford, telling food purists to kiss your hind end, and what you can have during a fast. Hope you enjoy.

Also you reminded me of the day that my doctor said, hey you lost 140 lbs, your blood pressure is normal, your cholesterol is good, but the way your eating is unhealthy. Most doctors have not nearly enough education on proper nutrition.

So in the same passage, you say his way of eating is unhealthy, but also outline the fact he's lost 140 lbs, normalized his blood sugar, and lowered his cholesterol. Makes a lot of sense, buddy.

Bacon Bandit isn't saying Butter Bob's eating is unhealthy.
His first comment was talking about his own experience. He was saying that his doctor said to him that "your [Bacon Bandit's] way of eating [fasting and ketogenic] is unhealthy". Bandit's point was that even though he'd lost 140 pounds and all his vitals were healthy, his doctor still said he was being unhealthy, because they have so little education in nutrition.

I adore this man. After all these years, NO ONE in the keto/low carb/carnivore can top him. He was the only one who could distill these complex topics so that all of us could understand. He changed my life for sure, and he created this content for us because he cared, and wanted to spread his message. I still come back to his videos from time to time, just to hear his voice speaking the truth. So many “gurus” out there with more rules than most of us can handle; “must be organic this, grass-fed that, and “buy my over-priced supplements”. Butter Bob brought health to all of us that could not afford the high cost “dogma” out there. And with his words, we changed our lives. God Bless you Bob Briggs; wherever you are I hope you are happy and living the life you so deserve. We are eternally grateful you took that time out years ago to record these words of wisdom. These keto and carnivore diets are not bad, they are really good in most cases. But they don't provide the whole picture! Bob brakes it down so it's easy to understand. Keep sugar out of your diet = lower insulin levels = body burns stored fat, instead of blood sugar. It's so simple.
Also he mentions a key point about fat cells which like myself some people have had more since childhood which lead to your having more than other in adulthood, none of the influencers have come close to simplifying that maybe Ted naiman but def not as simple as ol bob who’s not and influencer lol

Great video! Spot on. I lost 59 pounds on a Low Carb High(er) Fat diet in 2014 - during 10 months. Have not gained one pound since then. Calories are important, no question about it, but the key here is the CARBOHYDRATES. Reduce your intake of carbs and if you feel hungry increase your fat intake slightly so that you don't feel hunger. Change your fuel from carbs to fat. But that does NOT mean you should continue to overeat on fat instead. People, listen to this man because he knows what he is talking about.
+robert4you thank you Robert. I truly believe the high-fat diet is a tool that we can use to control our appetite, and makes doing this sustainable long enough to make a difference. I'm not preaching against a high-fat meal or high-fat nutrition, I'm just preaching against gorging and snacking on fat all through the day, which defeats the purpose of this diet, which is to use our own body fat for a fuel source.
Just discovered Bob's content yesterday and viewed several postings. I am right in the middle of reversing my pre diabetes, the weight is coming off and everything this man says is exactly how I'm experiencing it!

Beautiful, thanks, Bob. I'm 82 years old, female/caucasian, I was always slim, athletic, etc. all my life, then I got hit with an autoimmune condition and have been combatting it now for 32 years. I have overcome it mostly, with no drugs, no doctors, and a high fat/low carb diet for about the last 3-4 years. Started putting on weight and had decided to give away all the clothes I could no longer wear; then I came across you and decided to lose the weight and save my clothers, especially since I really don't have the money to replace them. Mstaboo4 - yes I agree. I don't get why it is that people try to make healthy versions of all the bad foods that made them ill. If they are still craving those things then they are still ill. When you clean your body up you don't crave all that stuff any more.
Unfortunately, Butter Bob Briggs has not been making videos for the past 5 years because his grandson tragically passed away and he had a difficult time dealing with his passing. He said that the online community became toxic and very hateful to him, which he got so tired of and was dealing with the online foolishness, abuse, attacks, and debates from people with NO COMMON SENSE, and they were judging him because of his success on the Ketogenic Diet when all he was trying to do was tell his story about how he lost weight and has kept it off and wanted to help people do what he did by being an example, getting healthy, and losing weight. Yes, there were rumors that surfaced on the internet that he passed away in July or October of 2016 (which makes no sense and is not true). He is still alive and well, he is enjoying life, but he is just no longer doing videos. I do believe he still has his Facebook and Twitter pages under ‘Butter Makes Your Pants Fall Off’, but he may not be responding to them. So, please continue to check out his Twitter pages and his videos On You Tube if you are doing what he did, don’t quit, be persistent on your weight loss journey just like he did. He is still doing his work helping people to lose weight. Just thought you all should know. ❤️

I first encountered your "Butter makes your pants fall of" video approximately 2 weeks ago, and I have already lost 10lbs (eating Wal-Mart food). I make a home made starbucks coffee, add 2 tbs of grass fed butter and I last for hours! It really helps get through the day. I use to drink maybe 5 or more coffees per day, now i do 2 tops.

This is a Wonderful Man. He TRULY, TRULY, Only wants to HELP people because he is a GOOD MAN. All of the information he is giving is correct and true. It has worked for LOTS of people over many, many years. I just recently discovered his channel and love his videos. I have just started following his advice and already I feel better and am not hungry all the time. In the process of watching all of his videos and looking at his Facebook page and his website, I noticed that he hasnt been posting for over a year and I thought , oh, thats a shame, I wonder why, I hope he's o.k. Then after a little more viewing and listening to this video and a couple others where he talked about all the MEAN and NEGATIVE harassment he was getting, I realized why he isn't on here anymore. Because of disgusting Asshole people that have to be mean and derogatory to others to make themselves feel superior . These pieces of Shit hounded this good, well intentioned man until he just couldnt take anymore. How freaking DISGUSTING is that ? I hope they feel great about their pathetic selves because of it. Lori Douglas I feel the same way. We sure miss him. He is a groundbreaker with a great heart, willing to bare his life on FB, for one and all to see, in hopes of helping those that cared to listen. He was largely responsible for getting me started in the world of Keto and fasting, a life changing experience for me! It's a shame that those who disagreed with him had to do so in such a hurtful way.

I just felt a big "Snap" go off in my head and heard the sound "Pop!" I was one of those people constantly looking to see what I can eat or get away with and still lose weight. I was focusing on the food. I have a strong propensity of snacking and its probably what led me to the point I am at " now. I am a "newbie" at keto, but sure am glad I came across your channel. There are so many so called "experts" offering their advice online and often times it is conflicting. I think I will follow your advice and keep it simple and use the fasting to address my issues with snacking head-on! You changed my attitude on this and now I have a game plan! Now I have to create my success story! :-)
gotta tellya i have extended my fast easily in the morning just by having a coffee with whipping cream and a teaspoon of coconut oil. extends my fast past 18 hours. have lost 26 pounds in about 4 months. keep up the good work bob....

Any calories breaks a fast, but its OK its only a four hour setback. I have fasted for 5 days before with just black coffee, so maybe it will work for you as well.

I love your videos! I'm a firm believer in the low carb high fat diet. I've lost 40lbs., reversed my insulin resistance, and brought my cholesterol down to normal levels. You provide a lot of valuable information and I will continue watching!

Great video again Bob! I can easily go 22 hours without solid foods but I need my coffee or wonderful Irish Breakfast Tea during those hours. I may have 4 cups, maybe 5 but with 1 tablespoon of heavy cream that only amounts to 50 calories a cup if you even count calories......so 200 - 250 calories in 22 hours. I don't get hungry. BUT if I ever have something carby....even a buttered piece of toast then I am craving carbs all day! Carbs must be like crack for some of us....Thanks again for caring enough to share your experiences and knowledge 😊

I'm so thankful for this and your last video because they came right when I needed them. 2 years of LCHF and stalled at the same weight after 100 pound weight loss, but so much more to go. I was doing everything everyone said to do!! And it was really costing me a lot of money I didn't really have. I also just now subscribed. I need a real person having been through this to give me insight into your experience. Today is the 4th day I have only eaten dinner, and as a type 2 diabetic, I took no insulin. I still need to make the dinner "no carbs." But for these few days it is the best I can do. I find I don't mind so much not eating, except that I do feel tired and a bit foggy. I am determined because I have been given useless treatment for my diabetes for so long. It makes me angry that I accepted what I was told and followed plain bad medical directives! Now I have to try and reverse my diabetes, and lose a mountain of weight. At least I found out about keto and fasting! I feel I have a chance to live now and not die. As far as food, I do miss my fruit the most. I can't believe I am eating dinner and then not eating until the next dinner the next day. It's a start. I will be watching more videos. Thanks!

Your video was recommended by a co-member in our low carb group because he read my posts re losing my appetite. I am impressed with you and your message! I now eat only if I am hungry and stop when I am full. I too have been on the search for recipes, etc...I guess I'll stop that and concentrate on keeping my body in fat burning mode. I eat a small breakfast and a small dinner. I will try to extend my fasting time as you suggest. I have been drinking bulletproof coffee with difficulty. Now I just drink coffee with heavy whipping cream, a bit of almond milk and stevia...and I enjoy it so much better. You're right about concentrating on food too much. The thought in my brain is, "What's low carb, high fat that I can eat in my 8-hour window?" I feel like I need to fill up because I don't want to starve during my 16-hour fast. The first 2 days, I got too full because of that was my mindset. Thank you for this video and sharing your common sense. I don't think I could starve to death even if I wanted to-not yet anyway! : )
Now you know first hand, you won't starve or even feel like you're starving, because you've unlocked that vast storehouse of energy called body fat. You can live on this and be perfectly happy and full of energy, even after many hours of not eating.

This was another great, and clearly articulated video. Thanks Bob! I try to convey this message as succinctly as possible to people. I tell them low carb is not the end game. The ultimate aim is to liberate yourself from the vicious cycle of frequent eating. Yes, low carb will induce a significant amount of weight loss, but generally, it won't allow you to lose enough weight to reach your ideal, especially if you have been overweight for quite sometime. In essence, low carb drops insulin, which allows you to lose weight, and makes you better at fasting for longer periods of time, which drops insulin even further, which in turn allows you to lose weight even further. The mistake people make when doing low carb is that they continue to eat frequently, even though being on a low carb diet for months causes them not to be hungry frequently. They do this because they have been conditioned by the food industry, and an erroneous understanding of nutrition, to believe that frequent eating is a good thing. It is not. It is not how our bodies function best.
+Drake Santiago Yes, this is one of the biggest misunderstandings we have in the "low carb" movement. I've tried over and over again to get this point across in my videos "Drying Up the Root" and "Why Are Fat People Hungry?". Those were longer and better documented videos, but this one is so plain spoken, so straight to the point, maybe I've finally broken through to some people and they'll go back and watch the other videos with this in mind. The problems that come from hyperinsulinemia and over-nutrition itself, are the illnesses and conditions that literately fill the hospitals and doctors offices all over the world.

Hi Bob, I eat once a day. Each morning, at 4 am, I eat one pound of raw grass fed beef, two raw organic eggs and one stick of organic butter. Takes me about 5 minutes to eat my breakfast and then I water fast for the rest of the 24 hour day. This keep me going for the day and my weight is stable at 125 lbs. I'm 70 years old and 5'6". Never felt better in my whole life. I work as a school bus driver 5-6 days a week and work out 3 times a day. My normal weight, as of last Summer was 155. So since doing intermittent fasting, I lost 30 lbs.
Thank you Bob! You've done the heavy lifting, also helped countless others, showing them the way. I've been following your advise for a week, astounded at the results. No one gets the message across like you do. I hope/pray you are enjoying success in whatever you're doing now, and always.

Thanks for really and deeply caring for us Bob. I’ve watched every video. Your research is spot on. The way you describe the problem and how to lose weight can be understood by a 5th grader. You’re the reason why I’m Keto and have a half cow on order right now! I was 177, now 163 trying to get to 150 like I was when I was 30 years younger. Luckily I skipped breakfast my whole life as I was too tired from playing games or coding till 2am every night to cook in the morning. This saved me from gaining weight until I started drinking coffee with 4 packs of sugar in it every morning 15 years ago. Half of my family is doing keto now because of your great work!

Great words of low carb wisdom Bob! I myself have been in the habit of finding new recipes, scheduling my meals every few hours and eating because I thought my body "needed" it! Thank you for reminding me simple is best and fasting is ok if I'm not hungry!
+Alicia Davidson Thanks Alicia. This video was done in frustration with people telling me they are not losing, then asking them specifics and finding they're going crazy eating on a schedule and other self defeating things.
And that is why I am glad you bring things like that to light! I was just following what I "thought" was right, like everyone else who is just starting LCHF. I have found my body responds better when I do intermittent fasting until almost noon as opposed to trying to MAKE my body eat within 30 minutes of waking, my system doesn't like that! I just listen to my body. Thanks so much for sharing your experiences!

Thank you! I start yesterday and I am full of energy and even started the c25k challenge again. I ran for 11 months and then injured my foot lost a total of 37 pounds but gained it back since then and some. I'm doing this because one tired of being fat two I'm always hurting my joints pain and hip pain is just crazy. I usually hurt alot after running in the hips but not today! Thank you for making it simple to understand. I'll keep you posted on my success

Thanks so much, Bob, for reminding us that this can be done without killer perfectionism! Like you, I have found that the hwc in coffee once or twice allows me to delay eating up to 20 hours! I just can't do it the way purists do--and better this than fainting dead away somewhere. And insulin is my enemy. Thanks for empowering me to keep going!

Thank you very much Bob for keeping this video. I’m a pure carnivore and getting so tired with all the other so - called carnivore guru and urging you to eat one stick of butter, or paid register to be part of their carnivore team, or buy the LMNT electrolytes or a bunch of supplements. Carnivore should be like this. Plain and simple. Just eat your meat with the fat intact. No need to over-stress about how much fat or protein we need. We are all different and certainly have different needs.

A lot of us ask for, almost begging for, information because we are at our wits end. I was on a LCHF diet meal plan before and wasn't losing weight. I know now I was losing inches, because my clothes were getting looser. But it was the holidays and I took a "cheat day" then that turned into a "cheat weekend" and grew into a "cheat week"! Then I decided to get back on track after the holidays. Well that was last year. Wouldn't make the same mistake this year.
And I have to say thank you for being there, in your videos, and preaching KISS principle with your meals. It makes it so much easier, and cheaper, when you can plan out your meals and not spend hours in the kitchen. Even though I enjoy cooking, it's my job actually, but I don't have the time or don't want to spend my free time in the kitchen.
