Such a great design. Totally setup to fit into the Grom. The motor shaft size is the same as stock so no new pinion gear needed. The best part is that you were able to keep the stock radio and fit the receiver on the right side and not have to have it mounted on the drive shaft cover. I actually like the stock radio because it's so small and easy to transport. Great job on this video. It would have been nice if the app would record speed but we can't have it all.
Can't wait to get this in my Mojave Grom. I've been holding out for someone to offer a true drop in system. Furitek should take over the Grom world with this. At nearly half the price of the Castle system and this is sensored. Best $99 I've spent in a while.
Hey GREG, it was nice meeting you today. I had one of these trucks never used. It turned it back to John was afraid how much money I was in. I put into it. Great and great info. Thanks for all you put out.
Just got mine last Friday and been wondering what is a good brushless system to put in it. Thank you you just made everyone’s life easier. Man it rips and goes super fast on 3S brushless wow.
Glad you mentioned the diffs. It's should be on the list to buy soon after the conversion yo brushless. I got a ton of run time with mine before i needed to change out the diffs for those wanting to hold off and buy later. You'll need em for sure, but you'll get a few battery packs in before its time....unless you hitting jumps, lol.
Love what furitek is doing. Started with a system for my scx24 was ery happy so i placed an order for this to put in my typhon The monster brushless kit to fix the sad TRX4-MT and the kit for the mini LMT cause why not
Does this system have the ability to accommodate a fan and light kit? Does the esc have enough ports to power these? I am looking for a system that installs easily like this but has the ability to run extra peripherals ie fan and light kit
I gotta beg to differ here, based off my experience putting a hobby wing brushed ESC into my Granite Grom. I certainly noticed some kind of overall throughput/speed increase!! Maybe it's placebo? But I'd bet I gained 1-2hamsterpower
I got the senton for 280 and a hyper go for 110. A buddy got a grom thinking it was going to cook the hyper go because of all the stupid comments he read. I'm doing double back flips while he is jumping off the curbs. My eight year old has a hxb that has hit every curb in town and it's still the most reliable rig we've ever had.
@@aknmtbr I just bash with those, haven't had any issues other than slight cogging very rarely. I put wider and heavier wheels on them for stability and traction. I wouldn't take them to a track shit they'd be all over the place.
I did brushless and geared it down it sounds cool and it works great in the Typhon but if you take this off road and try to turn with that much power its going to roll its too much power for it there is no type of center diff so as expected it pushes in the turns honestly I would put a fan on the stock motor and gear up maybe a better esc and enjoy it
Niçe build . By the Time your done & you couldda had two HG 04301 hoonies & live happily althou three miles slower . I own Arrma's and like them. Like streching my dollars, too.
Definitely need to upgrade the stock motor fan for better cooling. The full metal oil filled diff are a must too for extra power.
Where can you get a pair of them.
Just pre-ordered it. I was waiting for a brushless setup specifically for this. Thanks for the great videos

Great meeting you Bob! Have fun building that drag car this winter. Thank YOU for the support!

Love those motor plug wires with a connector, hopefully that catches on. those small gauge wires are a pain
I wish Hobbywing would jump into smaller scales, they make pretty good larger scale products.
Hi, do you know which receivers would connect to the slt2 transmitter? Love your videos

They will probably release a brushless version. Or a roller kit.
Brushless maybe but a roller? The truck is already dirt cheap don’t need to make a roller version lol
Is it a sealed can motor or will dirt burn it up?
Seems like you suggested it’s kinda crazy to put this expensive of an esc motor combo into this car what would be your ideal pick for this set up?
I looked at it and the site only shows pics of it in the mojave and typhon grom, does it also fit in the granite grom?
Excellent system great installation
Does the 2.3mm pinion fit on the furitek motor shaft? It was an issue with all the other 2mm motor shafts like the castle 0808.
What 3s battery did you use ? I purchased this whole kit for my grom and wanna run 3s
Do you recommend this upgrade on the arrma typhon grom? Because I'm just worried about spending that much and not enjoying it
What3s battery did you put in there. Trying to get one for the losi nascar
Um yes please. That was awesome great video.
Would this brushless system on 2S make for cooler running temps than the stock brushed system?
What 3s battery were you running
That is insane!!

Why can’t they make a brushless system that keeps the grom remote
Video watched in its entirety and algorithms awakened. Good info Greg thanks!!!
Thanks so much my friend!
Cheap Dumbo Remote & Gyro Reciever would be nice.
Did you test the boost and timing with 2S?
I was hoping for this
Have a question from a newer viewer rebuilding my Traxxas Maxx rear Dif is 100,000 wt dif lube a good choice for a good lock up
Certified ripper now.
What 3S battery were you using?
Good Stuff. Nice to see another complete package in the mix.
Anyone get the issue where it turns but doesn’t throttle? Any suggestions on fix? Noob here thanks!
Impressive
Would this work with the Typhon Grom?
Yes ...
What size is the motor can?
It should be like that from start.
They never, ever do that
Brother it’s a beginner rtr 😂
I get where your coming from it should
if you put a bigger Amp Brushed ESC should hep with speed?
No, speed depends on pinion/spur size, rpm of motor and some other little things, but putting more amp esc does nothing to max speed 😊
I gotta beg to differ here, based off my experience putting a hobby wing brushed ESC into my Granite Grom. I certainly noticed some kind of overall throughput/speed increase!! Maybe it's placebo? But I'd bet I gained 1-2hamsterpower
Ends up being over $250 for this upgrade. I got my blx granite 4x4 for $270 brand new

@@watsonira7 the hypergos are pretty twitchy though.

Probably just buy the brushless truck they sell
wasted of money
