i think it's badass that he had enough money and made enough to buy a house and a damn nice one and still, he stayed in his apartment and didn't fancy up at all. just saved his money and used it to LIVE and buy things he wanted and saw places he wanted and did what he wished and didn't fancy up his living establishment, buying cars and bigger things. Stayed rooted and very grounded. Now THATS humble.
Got to admit I choked up a bit on this one. Lemmy was honestly one of the most beautiful caring humans I've ever had the pleasure of knowing. I don't know how many times I've sat at that bar talking with the man and a few hours later taking more steps sideways than forward to get over to Clark Street leaving Lemmy completely unfazed. We talked everything from WWII to how I was doing coping with the loss of a very dear friend to suicide. He had a genuine desire to know and help any way he could. It was about 6 months after I met Lemmy there that I met Sammy and both had a huge impact on me. To this day I say say that Lemmy was the most honest, approachable and genuine rock icon there ever will be.
I said the exact same thing. So many friends of mine didn't make it 30 or 40, and they didn't even do nearly as much as he did. I had to stop partying because i had enough. Seems like it's always the best that leave this world, it's never the scumbags, the ones who won't be missed.
I met Lemmy in 1993 in the Rainbow bar & grill in Hollywood. The next time I was there I didn’t even see him but he bought my friend and I some drinks and had them sent over. As a guy that doesn’t happen too often. Awesome human being
I love how Lemmy basically lived in the same place for most of his life, a West Hollywood apartment close to the Bo. I love that area of Sunset Boulevard. Crazy he lived as long as he did. Lemmy really was a simple guy, cigarettes and booze and a downhill walk to his favorite bar. I love it
I saw Motorhead performing at Irvine Meadows in the late 1980's. The whole stage was decked out with large coffins sized speakers from the 1970's. I had hearing damage for 2-3 years after that. My ears kept ringing. He was classic.
Grew up in West London and got into HW in 80s. Lemmy was a fixture at gigs & down Portobello ; played pool doubles with him once, 'chasing' Wendy from Transvision vamp around table. Never got to ask him if he potted the black on that one. Was a lovely human being. A gentleman.
So sad still...but Lemmy probably was the only human being ever who lived his live completely on his own terms! I don't think there really are more than a handfull of people in history who can say that. So Lemmy lead a lucky life. That makes his passing more easy. He had a great life. One of the biggest personalities in history!
The rock legend that lived that rock life to its fullest x2. Thanks for showing these places that meant a lot in Lemmy's life and now in his after life.
My son stage managed festivals and lemmey was a genuinely kind and good guy His health was suffering but he still put himself out for his fans I wish I had met him Rest in peace Lemmy
I worked with Lemmy on a film in 2001 (Gaffer)... "Down and Out With the Dolls" 8AM call time, Lemmy arrives on set. By 8:02 one of the PA's was off to get a fifth of Jack Daniels and a quart of chocolate milk. One of the most interesting days of filming I've ever experienced!!!
I really like your videos. I'm one of those who stopped watching tv, when I bought my first computer in 2003. I browse the internet but there's only a few channels that I think are organized, packed with worthwhile information and done well. You make my day.. Thank you.
Thank you for doing this vlog on Lemmy. Didn’t know anything about him. He was one of a kind. Enjoyed hearing Earl talk about his friendship with Lemmy. Sad that he passed away so soon after he found out about his cancer. He was one special dude. I didn’t know Val Kilmer had a book out. Glad to find that out. God bless you and Jah
I was an usher at that! My ex to this day co manages Motorhead and although we hand't talked in years she reached out and said "Earl you are the only one I know who will know all the musicians on site so can you usher...?" Some funny antectodes -Gene Simmons wanted to sit in the front and his assigned seat I think was in the 7nth row. Put it this way he ended up in front. -Bob Kulick RIP literally would not get out of Slash's seat so when Slash arrives with this gigantic body guard(who by chance I knew from the gym)I thought what am I going to do next? I go to my ex and said "Bob won't get out of Slash's seat and put it this way Bob got out of Slash's seat when my ex had a conversation with him. The only other caveat is I did such a good job at the funeral a few months later the bass player from Dio Jimmy Bain passed and Wendy Dio who helped with Lemmy's funeral told my ex "get that guy who did Lemmy's funeral back we need him!"
I haven't seen this one in awhile. Thought I'd watch it again. You did such a great job on this one Jordan. The documentary Lemmy was so great. I miss Lemmy RIP. You will live forever.
Great vlog, really enjoyed it. I’ve seen Motörhead live about a dozen times, and have met Lemmy on half of those occasions. He was a funny, generous and cool guy, and I miss going to see him. Same goes for Ronnie James Dio. Rest in Peace, Legends!

Great vlog! I didn’t know much about Lemmy until today. It was so interesting to hear stories from someone that spent time with him. Very well put together.
Wow, just found this. Motorhead still and will always be one of my fav bands! Caught them LIVE 5 times, caught one of Lemmys picks, but never got to meet him. Jordan, thank you so much for doing a vlog on Lemmy. I was so excited to watch this one. Lemmy was a hero of mine who I met once, and saw perform three times. He's one of my top five favorite musicians! Image my surprise my name was mentioned as a patrion supporter on the day that you did the vlog on Lemmy. Really made my day thank you brother!

I ran into Lemmy on the street one day here in San Diego California a few months before he died. Was a surreal experience. I never did know why he was here in SD.
Thank you so much you made my day Sir , Lemmy was a true Original , loved his fans and they loved him back , really appreciated this have a great day .
Lemmy's son did make me chuckle at his service when he told the story of how he went to see him in hospital but the receptionist said they did not have anyone by that name in the hospital and Lemmy had checked himself in under the name Justin Case (if like me you have listened to No Sleep Til Hammersmith then you will know that is how Lemmy introduced the song Motorhead so i think it was quite fitting to check out with that name
I visited the The Rainbow two years ago and they let my friend and I go inside the restaurant and order Pizza. The waitress showed us the bar area inside where Lemmy would sit and play the video games. I believe they made a makeshift memorial for him in the outside bar area. This is a relatively new addition to the Rainbow. Jordan I enjoyed this video and all your LA history videos- Thank You!
I love this one, thank you, Lemmy and me share a birthday, I love the story of when he checked into the hospital when he was sick under the name Justin Incase.
I was never a big Motorhead fan but its still very interesting to hear these behind the scenes stories. You are very good at doing these "interviews". This vlog reminded me of your vlog with Randy Rhode's brother which was one of my all time fav vlogs that you've done.
When I was 17 in 1971 I use to frequent a pub in Hanley Stoke-on-Trent the black horse where Lemmy use to stand in the back doorway to the pub pint in hand and always by himself nobody really knew him back then -including me- even when he sang Silver Machine by Hawkwind no one knew it was him I did speak to him couple of times which was limited to heyup mate
This was fantastic Jordan it an was excellent and in depth look at Lemmy's neighborhood and favorite hangout. I have been a Motorhead fan since 1981 and this was so much fun to watch, I have seen footage of his apartment and The Rainbow on documentaries but this was more of an intimate perspective, to see actual street surroundings and his neighbor's comments as if walking around. Thanks for the work you do. I must visit. Long live who is to me the greatest Rock And Roller that ever lived Lemmy Kilmister.
Excellent Video, Lemmy was a true legend and unapologetic personification of Rock n Roll. I was introduced to Motorhead back in 1985, And I have several friends who knew him very well; He was one of a kind and in fact the inscription " Born to Lose, Live to Win " is Tatted on my right forearm. RIP
Excellent, Jordan! I came to know about him later than I should have. Saw The Foo Fighter’s “White Limo” Video and was curious who was the man driving the limo. I can tell that he was someone of importance, even though I did not know who he was at the time. I just remember seeing those boots and I go “Oh my gosh ,killer boots! “. So I researched him and downloaded some of MotorHead’s songs. Then I saw the documentary as you mentioned. The one I saw also featured his son as well. I remember how touched his son’s heart. It was then one of the interviewers ask Lemmy what thing in the room is his most favorite, Lemmy said, “My Son”. Got to respect Lemmy, he was true to himself, he didn’t live by other people’s creed. He fashioned his own and stood by it. Life is too short to to play copycat.
You know Lemmy was drinking heavily when Ozzy suggested he slow down. I was in a head to head car accident in the Valley way before cellphones. I ran to a house to use the phone, and the lady let me in, and I instantly saw a statue of Ronnie from the Sabbath days. It was his moms house on Lassen between Balboa, and Devonshire.
Hi Daze Had to access 2 videos of Lemmy after watching your great video...Motorhead performing Ace of Spades on an episode of the British comedy series The Young Ones and Hawkwinds brilliant Silver Machine with Lemmy on base at his best! Keep up the great work!
Lemmy could often be found in various Portland bars playing video poker. He LOVED video poker! He would also come to Portland every year to celebrate the birthday of adopted Portlander Clyde Lewis of Ground Zero Radio -Clyde was also the voice of Toxie in several Toxic Avenger movies which was something that helped bond them as buddies. Sometimes when Lemmy was “off the grid”, he was up here in Oregon laying low and bar-hopping just to decompress…
Whenever Lemmy was in London we knew where to find him in the intrepid fox pub sitting at the bar playing on the fruit machine (it was a quiz type one) he was a highly intelligent guy very approachable great to chat to and boy could he drink lol
Saw Motorhead twice in Liverpool early 90s, last time at the Royal Court think it was 1st February snow on the ground outside, Lemmy walks on, says HELLO LIVERPOOL HOW ARE YA???? The crowd goes mad and Lemmy says......I DONT KNOW YOU KNOW.....ITS FUCKING FREEZING IN HERE!!
Thanks for the lemmy video Jordan. He was quite a character 😊.I do remember the interview in which Lemmy said " I had to give up jack, and cokes, because coke isn't good for you".Still cracks me up when I think about some of the things that he has said.I hear there was a decent heart deep within that hell raiser also.
Thanks for doing this, a REAL view into the man, the myth, the legend, there's very few who epitomize Rock N' Roll. Longtime Motorhead fan since probably about 1980(their cover of 'Hoochie Coochie Man' is probably one of my favorite covers), a HUGE influence to my playing/lifestyle, etc. The first time I met Lemmy was a gig with the Cro Mags, and Lizzie Borden @ The Channel in Boston, I think he was playing the CENTIPEDE video game(Glenn Danzig and I would play the ZAXXON one). I would move to California briefly during early 90s and always would visit the Rainbow, but I would never bother Lemmy because I respected him. For those interested, read his autobiography WHITE LINE FEVER.
This is a fantastic vlog. Lemmy did buy a new condo in West Hollywood a couple of years before he died and he actually died in his new apartment, I hear. I hear that Harrett Towers still has his name listed on the directory outside, though.
He lived in that apartment till he died. Both Cheryl and Paul said he never bought another place, so if he did, his girlfriend and son didn't know about it.
I often wondered if you'd get around to Lemmy. Such an interesting and influential guy. He lived and died on his terms. Earl says he talks about him like he's still here. Lemmy will always be here! Lemmy and Ronnie are probably two of the most respected people in music. Check out some of the Motorhead in Wacken videos.
Lemmy lived in a flat in Greenfield Road in Colwyn Bay in North Wales! His best friend was a guy named Hayden Bannister! They both left Colwyn Bay for London and ended up roadies for Hendrix! Hayden got messed up on Acid and later died in a car accident!
Interesting video. I'm not a heavy metal fan but I enjoyed hearing about Lemmy. I'm surprised he lived to be 70 years old with all the drinking and partying he did. But he live life is own way. And as long as he didn't hurt anybody else fantastic. Rest in peace
When I lived in California in 2003 I probably went to the Rainbow on Sunset over 100 times. Their food was to die for and of course it’s a cool f’ing place to be. Literally EVERY time I went there Lemmy was there as well. If I didn’t know better I would think he lived there. He would stand there by the bar basically talking to the bartender all night.
Hi Jordan, great to see the Jahster enjoying himself with his pals, a few places boarded up by me aswell. Nice to hear that Lemmy was kind to his fans. What a brilliant statue, and a nice little tribute area aswell. Great vlog Jordan.
Oh man Jordan. I really enjoyed this Vlog. Super awesome insight from Earl, and a great comprehensive look at Lemme. I'm off to watch the documentary. Thanks as always, and I'll catch you on the next vlog. Take care Jordan. Arthur Childs, Oak Harbor, WA. :)
Was listening to Henry Rollins’ podcast about Lemmy today, and he mentioned that Lemmy moved to a different apartment even closer to the Rainbow before his death. Not sure if that’s true. He also told a story about Lemmy finding a tour suitcase in his apartment that he “lost” years earlier because of how cluttered his place was. Said it was like opening a time capsule ;-)
Great vlog, Jordan. I was a big fan of Hawkwind & Lemmy. I last saw Motorhead back in 1985 in Cleveland. I was front-and-center stage, right in front of Lemmy, getting my ears literally pinned back by the relentless wall of sound from the screaming amps. That was until the mosh pit swarmed all around me. I retreated to the bar, and was shocked at the level of sound from even that distance. There will NEVER be another. R.I.P. brother. ♠️️🎸️🎶🤘
Motorhead was definitely the loudest band at Bumbershoot, the Seattle music and arts fest held every summer at Seattle Center. For reasons I will never understand, the festival organizers decided to schedule Motorhead for 10:00 AM at the stadium. I'm working security, and at 9:00 AM I'm on the other side of Seattle Center and I hear the Motorhead walk-in music echoing off Queen Anne Hill. The first song was Hells Bells by AC/DC. Fine music for a Sunday morning... I cut my breakfast short. Their set was louder than anything else in the festival, because they discovered a loophole in the City of Seattle noise ordinances for outdoor venues. The volume for the PA system was regulated, but the stage monitors were not. They put way more sound thru the wedge monitors on stage than the rest of the PA. And yes, there were numerous complaints from nearby homeowners. I'm guessing the city closed the loophole after that.
Great vlog! I saw Lemmy & Motorhead in Feb 2012 in Montreal front center with Megadeth and my ribs were bruised from fans going crazy soon as Lemmy came out on stage and took a slug of his Jack & Coke poured and ready on his amp. Unreal!
This was so cool. I’ve been a Motörhead fan since I saw them live when I was about 10 and always thought Lemmy was the coolest guy. Thank you for this one.

He lived in Burslem.
RIP Peter Steele Brooklyn New York 💋
Lemmy was the ultimate badass 🔥🤘
Lemmy was so crucial to all rock 'n' roll, punk rock, and heavy metal... he is literally a god of music.
RIP
That is SO AWESOME that Lemmy and Ronnie are right across from each other. Imagine the tunes, brews, and discussions going on in the middle!!!
Praise be to Lemmy Kilmister our true Lord and savior anyone who's a fan of Motorhead a rock and roll in general will understand
He went in blues clubs in Notts...not racist or petty like lots....he saw people not colours...which is rare here!
Another killer vlog by Jordan! Lemmy was such a cool dude! You make my day with these excellent vlogs! :)
DIO'S mom's house? That's cool👍
WOW cool story's
Hi Daze
Had to access 2 videos of Lemmy after watching your great video...Motorhead performing Ace of Spades on an episode of the British comedy series The Young Ones and Hawkwinds brilliant Silver Machine with Lemmy on base at his best!
Loved the documentary Lemmy it was so awesome. His apartment was unreal. Loved this vlog RIP LEMMY well miss you sorely Metal god.
Great! Thank you for that! Lemmy was an icon! And the world is a poorer place without him!
Absolute legend...
Massive respct for Lemmy ☺
A down to earth well versed man with enormous intellect .
I'm a huge Lemmy fan thanks bud for posting this not a day goes by where I don't miss Lemmy cheers bro.
This was awesome man! Always loved Motörhead. Thanks for the tour!
Interesting video. I'm not a heavy metal fan but I enjoyed hearing about Lemmy. I'm surprised he lived to be 70 years old with all the drinking and partying he did. But he live life is own way. And as long as he didn't hurt anybody else fantastic. Rest in peace
I met Lemmy at Harvey's lake years ago...he licked my face 😂 he was one tough sob playing so sick like that
@Echte Brabander one of who?
The one the only Lemmy ! So cool you took us to his apt and hangout Thanks Earl for sharing all your great stories.
Not a huge fan but fascinating musician to watch...great presentation brother!!
Hi Jordan, great to see the Jahster enjoying himself with his pals, a few places boarded up by me aswell. Nice to hear that Lemmy was kind to his fans. What a brilliant statue, and a nice little tribute area aswell. Great vlog Jordan.
Lemmy can even make warts and hoarding cool
❤️ to you Mr Lion Sir... you rock
R.I.P. brother. ♠️️🎸️🎶🤘
the Ace of Spades ...thx for having us along dude!
Thanks Jordan..very respectfully done by you...cheers from the UK
Earl rolled me out Jordan. Loved this. Thank You.!
Hi Jordan never knew a thing about Lemmy and Motörhead but so interesting and great interview with Earl . Fascinating stuff !!!
Great Episode! Wish the interview have been longer. Stay safe and healthy. I miss Lemmy!
Cheers from Finland, Petri
I was an acid head back in the 70's, I loved Hawkwind and still have several of their albums.
Great stories from Earl! Fantastic vlog Jordan! Rock on Lemmy! 💙💙
