I recall hadnging out with friends that had the PS2 Liberty City Stories, and them speculating how to unlock the next island. They thought to go back onto a ship where a chainsaw fight had been earlier, when you actually had to play until you could jump across the incomplete bridge.
For GTA VI theres speculation that since Lucia has an ankle bracelet you'll be restricted on the map since she was just released from prison at the beginning of the game.
Maybe GTA 6 will return to these restrictions until we do a certain amount of missions. Would also be cool to have something like RDR2's backwater heist keeping the player in certain areas due to restrictions instead of blocked bridges.
Interestingly in GTA 3 at the beginning of the game, the porter tunnel between Staunton and Shoreline was already connected until before player completed Last Request mission. If you managed to jump over the broken Callahan Bridge. It's possible although it's tricky as the platforms in either sides are tiny.
The locked islands always annoyed me until GTA 5 ditched the concept and I realised how bored of the map I was halfway through the game because I already explored it all. Restricting players to one area at a time really made you appreciate the separate islands better and it kept the game fresh the whole time. Really sad they took it out in the end.

In GTA IV I kinda remember as Bohan (the small norhtern island with the poor neighborhoods) being closed as well until one of the Vlad or Faustin missions I think. Or was it really accessible from the beginning?
Yeah, I think it's closed off until the mission "Shadow" for Little Jacob, where you have to tail a drug dealer to his apartment and then kill him and two other dealers behind the locked apartment door.
I feel like it woud've been worth mentioning how in GTA V Michael and Trevor get restricted from entering the LS City limits over the span a few missions. If the city is entered by either they will be hunted down by Madrazo's men.

for island retrictions but it is gonna be most likely called land or area restrcitions so Lucia did a store robbery with jason and then after that they maybe got chaught and at the beginning of the game your just can stay in vice city because lucia has ankle monitor and if you go to the areas you can't you get 5 star wanted level in gta 6 and plus you cant play as jason at the beginning of the game and will be max wanted level 5 stars gta 6. For GTA VI theres speculation that since Lucia has an ankle bracelet you'll be restricted on the map since she was just released from prison at the beginning of the game.
I would like if GTA 6 brought back the island restriction feature
YOUR VIDEOS ARE GOOD!!! :)
Thank you so much! ☺️
In GTA V theres
Fort Zancudo
Bolingbroke Penitentiary
Los Santos International Airport
The Merryweather Base
The Humane Labs.
Maybe GTA 6 will return to these restrictions until we do a certain amount of missions. Would also be cool to have something like RDR2's backwater heist keeping the player in certain areas due to restrictions instead of blocked bridges.
Unpopular opinion: we need a San Andreas Stories as a prequal😭
That would be awesome! ❤️❤️❤️
Interestingly in GTA 3 at the beginning of the game, the porter tunnel between Staunton and Shoreline was already connected until before player completed Last Request mission. If you managed to jump over the broken Callahan Bridge. It's possible although it's tricky as the platforms in either sides are tiny.
In GTA V, Los Santos will be restricted to some protagonists during the story progress.
I remember when I was a little kid, I would drive full speed into the barricades hoping they would get destroyed, or jumping into the water in hopes I would magically be able too swim too the other islands.

Omg! Welcome back, bro! 🥰❤️❤️❤️

Gta 5 lacks this sadly
No it doesn't
It just doesn't used it in traditional sense
You can't go to the prison or military area and later in the game you can't go to Los Santos
So yeah
It's still in the game just not in the traditional sense
@@basilplushie2534which is not that good because you already have the chance to explore that part of the map at the beginning of the game but that gets restricted later on.
In that case is just frustrating and honestly doesn't give that "i wonder how that part of the map looks" feeling since you already explored it before but it's no longer accessible for a short time.
What was good about old GTAs is that you don't have the chance to fully explore the map at the beginning which gives the feeling of a never ending map or just look bigger than it actually is.
@@LesterCrest1 GTA 5 map In general is badly designed
They should've added GTA 4 map or 1 more city at the top of the map
@@basilplushie2534 And North Yankton, a place where you start the story mode, as an unlockable map which can be fully accessed after completing story mode.
I also don’t know why they just pushed all the islands together on just one island, instead of having it simply divided.
GTA V does not feature restrictions at least at the begginig. However at some point of the story you’re unable to use Michael and Trevor during the exodus, and even then Madrazo would send killers after Michael if he tries to enter LS.
2:28 I am in awe that a SIMS 3 NEIGHBORHOOD replica of gta vice city's map is still being used to show off vice city's map. not to discredit how accurate the replica is but this image is getting so fucking old now. how has no one been able to take a proper INGAME picture of the map from a bird's eye view since 2002?
In GTA IV I kinda remember as Bohan (the small norhtern island with the poor neighborhoods) being closed as well until one of the Vlad or Faustin missions I think. Or was it really accessible from the beginning?
That's true!
Yeah, I think it's closed off until the mission "Shadow" for Little Jacob, where you have to tail a drug dealer to his apartment and then kill him and two other dealers behind the locked apartment door.
As a kid I was always confused of getting cops in san andreas since I've never really listened to the cutscenes lol
Oh My 3D Universe Indeed The best GTA Era.. I Mean with such Feature I found it Playing the Game Much rewarding and Immersive.
Considering were doing new maps with old games for stuff like gta v and gta vi now, i cant wait til we get gta vii liberty city s
They should bring it back in GTA 6. Especially since they're in Florida and hurricanes occurred in the state.
7:49 stanced police car on the left looks hella clean
I always enjoyed the map restrictions, and not having them was one of the reasons I never could stand GTA 5.
I feel like it woud've been worth mentioning how in GTA V Michael and Trevor get restricted from entering the LS City limits over the span a few missions. If the city is entered by either they will be hunted down by Madrazo's men.
Your videos are great bro 👍🏻
Thank you so much 😀
I remember flying in gta SA and landing in Las Venturas and wondering why the cops were after me. I found out why later and found a cheat to explore the whole map without beating the missions
POV you cross the berlin wall 8:15
Cool video! Ai voice is kinda struggling a lil
I'll try to make it a better voice, as it's the only option for me for now.
Gta V does have a restriction. For a short period of time Michael and Trevor are not allowed into the city due to the threat of Martin Madrazo.
I prefer the oldest games as it felt like an expansion. Mindblowing when young as it was then very hard to get there.
I wonder will the island restrictions return in gta 6?
It is propable because Lucia has an ankle monitor
@@Pawcio2115 I didn't know she had a ankle monitor. I watched the trailer a few times and never payed any attention to that little small detail.
@@d.fortner6653 Lucia has an ankle monitor in the artwork of the trailer
@@JuNiORFleZPlaYGaMeS I need to go and check out that artwork.
That's probably for the jail @@Pawcio2115
I think it would have been worth mentioning that you get hunted by Madrazo in GTA V at one point throughout the story. Kinda a map restriction in a way
Dios, que me recuerda mi ps2 2012 gta san andreas una ciudad restringida fue mi infancia :'3 ❤
GTA V blocks Micheal and Trevor from entering Los Santos when they are wanted by Mr. Madrazo. I'm surprised thay wasn't mentioned. Its the only time in GTA V that a section of the map is blocked as far as I know.
No technically after the paleto bay score Martin prevents us from entering los santos
0:09 considering it's only one small part of the map, the original Vice City looked way bigger than the 3D Vice City…
GTA 3 not only blocks bridge, but also blocks tunnel due under construction
I hope this does not return in gta 6, it's just annoying when you replay the story, map should be open from the start like gta 5.
I'm wondering if GTA 6 will make the hurricane excuse again.
for island retrictions but it is gonna be most likely called land or area restrcitions so Lucia did a store robbery with jason and then after that they maybe got chaught and at the beginning of the game your just can stay in vice city because lucia has ankle monitor and if you go to the areas you can't you get 5 star wanted level in gta 6 and plus you cant play as jason at the beginning of the game and will be max wanted level 5 stars gta 6. Just My Prediction.
GTA 3 Bridges is Portland the Staunton Island Bridget is Boom🌃🌉💥💣💥😢
"Hell no, tunnel no!"
"SKE, SKE!"
I think it is worth mentioming that at one point on the story in GTA 5 you kinda have restrictions to go to los santos as michael or trevor as madrazo's men will chase after you if you try sneaking into the city and won't stop until they finnish with you or you leave.
This is definitely an ai script “the player has to stay in the Portland and keep completing Portland missions.” 1:18
Okay, these are way more creative than the restriction method used in a game like Genshin Impact. Paimon just appears and teleports you back to the unlocked area.
