Penny, your story brings tears to my eyes. I have also been a single mom w a 2 year old & a newborn. Any chance you live in TN? Thinking you need Godly people to help you navigate this difficult journey, it’s so hard when you’re alone. Sending grace & love from middle Tennessee❤️
Love her explanations. I have been facing unsurmountable pain and trauma due to a neglectful husband. I know it's not just me or my emotional response, and it's symptomatic that something very wrong is going on here and he refuses to address it. Prayers appreciated because this has to change.
@@dianedizayee5211 Well there is emotional abuse and neglect and abandonment are abuse too. They are different experiences and they still damage a woman very deeply.
Thank you so much for this. I've been suffering from reoccurring postpartum depression. I seeked helped today after dealing for it with weeks. I've been told by peers that it was a faith issue... and I felt like a bad Christian. Thank you for this messaged. This was a blessing for me tonight.

I had a therapist who told me a very profound truth about faith and depression. I had repeated the falsehood that “if you have enough faith, you will be healed of your depression”. She simply responded, “Janice, people who carry the cross of depression are some of the most faithful people in the world. They carry on without light, joy and peace of mind.” I’ve thought of this idea often since then. I’ve come to understand that sometimes He calms the sea and other times He calms the sailor. It’s been nearly 21 years since I was smacked with post partum depression. It got easier to think clearly and enjoy life. I still have struggles that take all my faith and skills to get through. Learning coping strategies really helped. When I’m in the darkness I reach out for His hand and He guides me through.
I have been through some severe trauma and I’ve done a lot of work over a 30 year period. Everything she is saying I have experienced. I’m looking forward to reading her book.
Thankfully, my situation was not mentally. It was a diagnosis of PFO a congenital heart disease. It was confirmed that stress from my ex spouse brought on attacks. Now that he is out of my life, I have not experienced those panic attacks. I was healed as soon as he left me. I still have pfo. Him leaving me saved my life. No more 911.

YOU HAVE BEEN A BLESSING, YOUR EXPRESSIONS, VOCABULARY, HONESTY, EXPERIENCES, HUMILITY, KNOWLEDGE, AND ATTITUDE IS SO DELIBERATE AND HELPFUL ALL AT ONCE!!!🥰😇😍
Yes transference is a real thing and I took it out on those around me for years until I realized I was only hurting myself. I had to forgive them in order to find the peace I so badly needed.
One of the best pieces of advice/wisdom that I was ever given was from a pastor who had lost his adult daughter suddenly to an acute autoimmune storm. He said that the only way forward is to learn how to plod through every single day, every single hour, every single moment. Jesus meets us as we methodically plod through our days in His strength.
Debra your explanations and vulnerability are so spot on, I know exactly what you went through and how unbelievably lost one can feel. We forget that instead of telling people what to do in times of crisis we need to be there and help carry their burdens. We are to be 'church' for them, it would help more just to be there than to preach prayer or medication. Thanks again for being vulnerable and open so that others can learn. God bless Jim and company may His grace envelope you daily.
I really enjoyed this message. I often just say 'I'm doing well', but am I really? How many things am I holding inside that will come out in my behavior somehow? Praise the Lord for his Holy Spirit who walks with us through a lifetime of sanctification.

I am about to be divorced from a violent, toxic man who has turned his abuse from me to my children. I have a daughter who has repeatedly abused by him. Time and time again I have acquired orders of protection (op's) however, this last time the new caseworkers and investigators have decided that the abuse is not significant enough to press charges or to hold him accountable. What in the world? How is my daughter supposed to heal if she is continually forced to endure the same abuse "because there isn't enough evidence to convict". Note: she has a counselor at a Biblically sound service but, she doesn't force her to talk about her past or even what has happened within the last 6 months. How is she to heal?

20:25 is so important
Great information.. thank you 😎
Thank you for this channel! It has helped me grow spiritually and emotionally. At the end of the podcast, Debra is talking about a sermon from Jon Courson. I would love to listen to it, is there a link?
Thank you for such wisdom. Is there a resource for listings of Christian counselors?
Thanks, Tracy, for reaching out to us. You can search for counselor referrals on our website (bddy.me/3HuwawI). Alternatively, if you’d like to talk with one of our counselors (at no cost to you), call 855-771-HELP (4357) weekdays between 6 A.M. and 8 P.M. (MT).

Go to the Lord. Go to the cross. Begin

AMEN, WATCH PASTORS PERSPECTIVE FEBRUARY 23, 2021 YOU Will SMILE 😀❤️
I too, had a choice to make ... I had to leave the home and spare our dear Daughter, 😢 she is wounded but has survived the CRISIS ... Thank Goodness
This is so helpful! I plan to buy the book! Thank you!!!
