Hi, found a Vespa 50 while going through a deceased relative's assets. Guessing it's from the mid 60's, will check more carefully when I find the serial number. The engine was dismantled and is in a box, otherwise all parts seem to be in place (I think) Happened to see your video about electrification of smallframe vespa. Thanks for a very good and informative video that was also fun to watch. Immediately saw the possibilities of bringing this old Vespa to life. Would be interested to see more how you went about it, what parts you used, tips and tricks, etc.
    Good work!
    Greetings
    Per Lundberg

I like old vespas, not into electric, but way more into people having fun. Where do I fit? ha! Nice job!

Hmmm… maybe swapping a more modern 2 stroke engine into a 2 stroke!

I'd say something like this makes sense, compared to a large Tesla

Yes... weight to range ratio is much better too

We have a ‘62 Vespa I’ve been contemplating converting to electric. What are the details on the kit? Cost? Is it plug and play or is their fabricating involved?

Thanks! Would it be helpful if I made a whole video walking through the electric conversion process?

      Absolutely!
I'm aware of potential hub motors and controllers - but which voltage is best? And then if i have got the single pieces of motor, accu, and controller - all the steps to get the stuff finally working and communicating is missing for me at the moment (throttle, wiring etc)@@bernietime

Nope I laugh at the clowns who claim to be about all original yet they order all brand new parts lol which makes their classic yup NOT original. SO No I can't stand those twats. I am 59 y/o Original Scooterboy who drives only electric converted Vespa and Lambretta scooters I hand convert., I tried using pop in kits but they are just too weak and slow for the type of driving I do on my 64 GT 200. I was tired of going 709 in the first place which is why I converted mine starting in the 90's which sucked since everything available was rubbish. Now though. My scooters run flawlessly and take pink slips from cars and Motorbikes alike lol Keep it up. I use Lingbo controllers, 10kw, 12" tyre, QS motor wheels and 72v set up. Batts-Strictly 72v 120AH LiFePo4 batts Li Ion simply can't handle my riding lol, I drive mine without problems on the full Motorway causing easily at 140 kph (top speed is 145 Mph) extreme range of nearly 1000 Km's per charge that's proper riding baby! Always trying to upgrade and up beat myself though so next phase, a 165 mph Electric Lambretta Racer baby! Keep It Up Mate!

Yes it absolutely does! If you REALLY love scootering you want it to move forward not be stuck on a lift being repaired because of outdated motor design. But then again, not all scooterists actually ride most just ride for fun and show where as real scooterists live on their bikes and do real riding not just to the tea shoppe lol
