Nice video review. I definitely want a cross-plain R1. I have never ridden one so I really like your demonstration of its low end acceleration, thank you. I had a 99 R1 and an 07 R1. I have a 21'GSXR1000R now which is a great daily, but the R1 is for those special rides when there are corners to rip! 1000cc sportbikes are my favorite motorcycles. Here are my favorite bikes out of the bikes I have owned: my current bike, the 21'GSXR1000R, 08 ZX10R, 07 R1, 03 GSXR1000, 99 R1, 98 ZX9R, 98 GSXR600, and an 86 GSXR1100. I have been riding for 42 years now and I have owned other bikes that were special to me, but those were my favorites. Lots of memories. I used to ride a lot more back then, it's harder to find the time now. Thanks for listening and thank you for the video.
i've owned 2 r6, a gsxr 600, and a fz-07. my dream bike is an r1. and i'm hoping to get one before the end of the year. especially now since they are discontinuing it for street production
Is the fear alot of people say about litre bikes being too much bike , warrented ? Obviously they dont need to be on the street, but the way some describe litre bikes, makes them sound like an untameable beast
If ur that inexperienced at riding superbikes maybe commenting on them is not a good idea , to say a late model r1 is comparable to a 15 yr old gsx-r is wrong the only thing similar is that they both got 2 wheels
The best thing I've ever bought dude, its frickin awesome
They are so much fun!

That’s awesome that you still have such a strong passion for sports bikes, very inspiring!
Thank you, riding just feels like freedom.

You’ve had some awesome bikes already but yeah, the r1 or any litre bike in general is just on another level! You’ll love it!!
HP is addictive. This bike should be super fun on a weekend cafe run.
It sure is haha, you always want more!!
Amazing bike, never ridden an R1 but would love to…. I almost bought an MT10 a couple of years ago.
It's certainly a phenomenal machine
Man I’d die on that thing, too tempting sitting on 110 when I know the bike can do 300kph.
It takes a lot of self control man, especially since it can do 160kph in first gear!
does it goes vroom vroom?
Sure does!
My 650 feels like it's excessive for the roads, can't imagine what one of these would be like 😆
So much self control is needed haha

They sure are for a beginner but someone experience with good mindset can tame the beast

Interesting take...
I didn't say I was an expert, just giving my opinion based on my experience mate
Very cool bike 😎 But yeah nah
You have to give one a shot one day if you haven't 😎
@@AusMoto I don't think I've ridden a litre super sport, but my MT-09 was scary enough 😬 I'd give one a whirl tho for sure
R1 is Going to be discontinued soon..😐.. it's an official announcement by Yamaha
Apparently still will be sold in AUS as a road bike but in EU only as a track bike
