      It’s the closest to the originals. For those of us who just love the originals and the the CGI filled prequels or animated stories or comic book crap, Solo is as close as you get. It’s a fucking kasdan script. Some choices were dumb. But the majority of the middle of the movie had classic Star Wars, tone, grit, wit and dark humor. Donald was great as Lando. And Ansel did a great job of playing an innocent kid who got corrupted and turns into Han Solo instead of doing an impression of what he would be 20 years in the future, which was smart.

      @@colievalette The original story of the Kessel run was better than what they created for the film. The Kessel run was originally explained by George Lucas as being a race where a ship would travel at a set speed from one location to another. And the speed in which a ship is rated is by how far the ship traveled before it was intercepted. And that is why the "12 parsects" made 0 sense at the time. So it was a rating by distance.
      I was not a fan of the movie version. However ... the rest of it was great.

    • @bonzodog67lizardking15
      @bonzodog67lizardking15 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Nobody's "always genuine." Ford once complained about having to sign autographs and "be nice" because cameras were on him and he knew it.
      Ford probably wasn't thrilled with Indiana Jones 4, but he called Shia, "...an idiot," and said, "there are times to have opinions, and there are times to sell cars." He has Indiana Jones 5 in the works, and he has to keep Disney/Lucasfilm happy.
      Clearly Solo is about selling a product no matter what it is...in this case a film and his credibility.

    • @ptcrusa
      @ptcrusa 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      BonzoDog67 Lizardking He still gave his opinion that Shia was an idiot, even though he was selling the car that was Indiana Jones 4. You can't silence the mouth that is Harrison Ford's. I haven't heard any such opinion about Alden Ehrenreich from him. And the film actually turned out pretty decent, so he didn't have to lie about it anyway.

    • @bonzodog67lizardking15
      @bonzodog67lizardking15 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Disney didn't own Lucasfilm when Ford called Shia and idiot. That was certainly an honest opinion, however he said it only once, and most of the time had nice things to say about Shia during the promotion of Crystal Skull otherwise.
      I'm sure Ford has nothing against Alden Ehrenreich, but his publicly "crashing" an interview for the cameras with Ehrenreich reeks of the machinations of Kathleen Kennedy. Don't forget she is the Producer of all things Star Wars AND Indiana Jones; including the 5th film that's in the works.
      Ford was almost certainly paid for the interview appearance and frankly has to play studio politics if he wants that one last Indiana Jones paycheck. He is famously indifferent to the character of Han Solo and anyone who actually thought he was "in the area" by chance is fooling themselves.

      He doesn’t hate the films. He’s spent 3 decades fostering an apathetic attitude. Grumpy Harrison has been around since the 80s. You can see interviews where it appears as though he hates being Indy, hates being Jack Ryan, hates being Han, doesn’t like Blade Runner, didn’t like What Lies Beneath...
      It’s not really an act... it’s just his personality. He’s a cynical, sarcastic wiseass. He views acting as a job... and that’s it. When you compare him against his costars, like Mark Hamill who clearly love the whole spectacle of being their character, Harrison looks jaded by comparison.

    • @mrblonde609
      @mrblonde609 6 ปีที่แล้ว +16

      Wait, you can't say the truth here. People will smack your ass with great arguments like "I would take an actor over a lookalike anyday" completely ignoring the fact, that Ingruber IS an actor. And they tend to forget, that Ford approving this clown doesn't mean anything. He also approved Ingruber in "Age of Adeline" and we see what came from that. Nothing. Ehrenreich may be a decent actor in many movies, i don't know, but not giving Ingruber the job is one of the most idiotic decisions modern hollywood did these days.

  • @CaesiusX
    @CaesiusX 6 ปีที่แล้ว +102

    It is possible *Harrison Ford* will rave about _Han Solo a Star Wars Story_ *_just so he can get out from underneath this character._* Ford doesn't want to be any associated with Solo. He doesn't care about *Star Wars.* Ford appreciates how it got him started and allowed him to begin the work that he wanted to do. But ever since then, Ford has had no interest in it and he is still asked about *Star Wars/Solo* ad nauseum. So, of course he's going to say _he loved/enjoyed it_ in the hope that this new actor can be asked about *Han Solo* from now on.
