So there are two IIII engines on USA rails. The barge-combination seen at 18:00 is the same that struck the Fort Madison bridge, seen in the previous Grab Bag. Strange to see VRF go back in time...
Nice catches of Fallen Flag Freight cars tonight and the SW7 was good to see, thanks VRF. Like the Northern Lights, they came and went.
The museum is fundraising to repaint the FP45. Look it up to donate! And that's not a 86ft long NW box.
The NS 'Lackawanna' Heritage Unit looks pristine in its refreshed look. Great catch.
Those 2-bay NS hoppers at 9:16 are pretty sweet in their own right. Old Pullman PS-2 hoppers.
The auroras were obscured by clouds for three straight nights where I live, so it was cool to see them here.

Wow! Excellent catching all the trains in multiple locations, especially the CSX military train in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Heritage Units, and so much more, I like them, @Virtual Railfan, thank you very much and happy Mother's day to everyone.
Plenty of heritage units in just the first two minutes and 15 seconds. 😁
The aurora was gorgeous! We even got some of it down here in Utah, but with a train and that great music, it was a perfect ending to this Grab Bag. Bravo to Chi and the lady with him for their efforts, and I'm glad that #93 is getting some TLC. Another wonderful one--thank you!

We have Santa Fe FP-45 number 92 at IRM. It was finally restored to operational condition in 2018 with a rebuilt prime mover, new trucks and electrical gear. Would be neat to see 93 restored and maybe have the two together for a run.
From what I've been told something about 93's prime mover is severely bent. It's not likely to be repaired to running as is and they're striving for a complete cosmetic restoration.
That said, I've always wanted it to be. Grew up climbing through her cab at the museum.
There is nothing wrong with 93's Prime Mover. It has a bad generator.
@@trainguy-bl4mv I lumped the generator in with the engine, I forgot the proper terminology.
CPKC crew in Revelstoke got a nice view of the Northern Lights. Makes you wonder how people during the time of the Carrington Event felt when the planet had that particular geomagnetic storm.
One of the nicest endings to a Grab Bag video! The Northern Lights were spectacular, and the musical selection was perfect. What a great tune and performance 👍

See some good motors and trains on the Grabbags like seeing the Virginian EMD SD70ACE 1069,N&W boxcar 👍,saw the Aurora/Northern Lights 🌌 in VA, lots of pink and some green!🛤🚂
We could see the northern lights in Delta British Columbia. Very cool.

The Northern lights on Friday were incredibly strong, I got to see them here in the UK as well, my first time. Also the BNSF barcode engine, I saw that live on the LAP cam - the one time I actually see an "1111" and it's not Norfolk Southern 😂
But the BNSF number looks just like "1111" not a barcode like the NS 4-ones.

They used to run a train out of Binghamton at 4:15AM to Hoboken via Scranton that arrived at a little before 7 so that you could catch the "tubes" into NYC. Great memories from when I was about 14!!

10:00 ATSF 93 is going to Mid America Car Inc in Kansas City for a repaint. This 1967 F45 was built to pull both passengers and freight, and was later repainted into the yellowbonnet paint scheme after Amtrak had their own locomotives. It was one of the Super Fleet locomotives and regained its warbonnet paint along with new GE dash 8s and EMD GP60Ms in 1989. 93 has been in Wichita since 1998.

You can see the lights in skykomish but not very well
I was trackside waiting for that US Army engine, it took about 9 hours to go from being tied down to passing the cam and I missed it, still upset about it
