  • 65 Hatteras getting the job done despite seas that were over 15' and winds that must have been gusting somewhere in the 50's. We endured 13 hours like this non stop. Mind you what you see is what I was able to record when it was actually calm enough to hold the camera!

    To watch a boat that size roll that far over, you know that was a nasty day. Unreal

    Enough to break the outrigger off, we were fishing WMO out of Ocean City years back and took an ass beating like this. It damaged countless boats. You can feel a million miles from home out there.

    13 hours in those seas must have been hell. Hard to believe someone would put themselves in that situation. I thought you were going to breach a squall line and this wasn't a long duration storm.
    Anyways, amazing machine to run like that given the conditions.

    I have watched this many times, as I was out in this type of weather only once, and then for about an hour and in a 43' Hatt DCFB (60 mph winds officially). This is a serious video and I just noticed that the foredeck hyd lift is swinging free!

    Lots of beeping. Bilge pumps? Engine warnings? smoke? Fire?

    • @robdog1245
      @robdog1245 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Probably instruments. Or autopilot saying it can’t hold the course. Could also be the turbos, the 54GT I fish on a lot has that distinct turbo whine when they’re spooled up.

    Where is this, looks like the kind of seas that a Trans-Atlantic Ocean Liner would encounter! What year Hatt and what engines, 12V92's or 16V92's?

    Great footage, but the wave don't look anywhere near 15'. I'd guess 8-10' max. None the less that Hatteras made it look easy.
