Finally after how many years. I watched again this video. And I was carried away by the song. Nice choice of music. I've watch this video most of the time in 2007 before joining the seafaring world. My salute to those brave gentleman!
I have been a Pilot Boat Captain by myself for many years and I have to thank you. This Video is honoring our job in the best possible way! Thank you! Capt. Walter
I vote this the best video on the net. I keep coming back to watch it again and again. Music, image, editing are all great! the footage at 147/200 is freighning, awesome, beautiful and mesmorizing.
Thanks my mate I believe you made this video for the memory of our pilot brother Capt Lutfi Berk who lost his life durig disembercation from the ship called M/V REGINA V. I was the person who took him to the hospital in an ambulance desperet to bring him to life back.Unfortunatelly he was already passed away which I did not know. The videeo made me sad again and my sad memories come back. never the less show must go on. We are here and never forget him
my father was 1st engineer on merchant ships; this brings back images and so many memories.... i can smell the ships and the seas in the video! plato was probably right when he claimed that ''there are three types of men: the living; the dead; and sailors'' my eternal respects and cheers from a greek in landlocked brussels
Makes you really have a great appreciation for the likes of Ferdinand Magellan and all the others who sailed the seas with nothing more than some canvas, rope and tackle and skilled carpentry to build the boat.
A beautiful tribute. Terrific music. It is not my country but real work is a shared human activity through place and history. Great job opening up the world a bit more to us all.
Fantastic editing and a great choice of music to go with this video. Thanks very much for this video! And I also say greetings to all mariners and seafarers; may you be safe on all the mighty oceans in this big ole' world of ours. Greetings from Ware, Massachusetts........
I can almost feel the power of nature and machine. I loved it when things got rough as a teenager working on the water. I would see the conditions start to change and wish for rough weather....but only to a point of course. Great video, feeds the soul of those who understand it.
Back after 16 years. I worked in the bering sea and although our F/v’s are nowhere near the size of some of these ships, I feel nostalgic, watching this, as I have respect for all men working on boats, ships and the pilots who bring them to safety.
thankyou for posting this video,a reality based video that shows the real life of pilots and pilot boat captains,a career that many of us take for granted.these men take risks to get the job done so that we may enjoy goods that are traded between countries. I take my hat off to these brave people, they have my utmost respect. gotta have to have nerves of steel just to climb the ladder, then after that they have to navigate the vessel to it's of port of call,, amazing individuals!!!!
As being a Shipsmechanic onboard some of the biggest containervessels on earth it is nice to se this fine film of pilot-activity and life onboard a pilotboat as I usually just see the Pilot enter our vessel and some hours later I see him leave it again. Splendid footage
I have such respect for pilots and what they do. This vid is an excellent showcase of that and is put together very well. On of the few vids were the music is matched well and actually adds to the vid. Great job!!!
Excellently put together video. I love the sea, always have done since a kid. Great admiration for all those who work on the sea and the Pilots, worldwide.I used to watch the Pilots boarding the ships in 'The Wash' on the East coast of England. If I only had the bollocks to go to sea I would have years ago but I'am too chicken. All these 'storm' videos are quality. Top people!!
Thanks Tony for sending me this. A great tribute to Capt Lutfi Berk and a great reminder that winter is just around the corner for all of us that choose to do this for a living. We(Pilots)dont mind taking the risks with the weather but we do object to being dropped in the drink because of unsafe ladders as happened recently in our district. Please any Seafarers reading this please check the condition of your Pilot Ladders. No wish to become annother stastitic. Yet Rod(London Pilot)
Such a Dangerous job...And I am so sorry for the loss of your dear Friend.the Sea is a wild thing, and climbing from one vessel to another must be so difficult as both are moving, and there is a risk of falling between the ships.. This is a job for the Brave, and all seafarers have my respect..The Sea is a fascinating element, but an unforgiving one.god Protect all at sea.
sailing the seas today is much more easier but not less dangerous than back in the days of maggellan ... but you are right ... all these great people need all of our appreciation
Great combination of sound and pictures. You can smell the ocean and you feel what the real meaning of living is. Knowledge is the force to beat the elements and people use this force defin the border of living. Great work
1:46 - 2:03 where does this video come from? That footage is completely insane, that wave was completely insane how it toyed with the ship. God, I remember watching this video way back to 2007 and never forgot it. This is the first time rewatching this in like 10 years.
Absolutely Brilliant...Even not knowing these men, i respect them....and the choice of song is spot on...Real entertaining and sobering video...well done :)
Mukemmel mukemmelsiniz. I remember coming across a 3 meter wave when I was sailing Pirats and Snipes. I cannot imagine the intensity of the wave on these videos. Good luck to all the pilots! Allah'a emanet olun!

Very nice video , real people, rel life, real work, dealing with nature, real storms, what kind of boat are this pilots using the grenn and orange may be some old italian built??? one the best videos in the tube Congratulations.Ernest
To ADtranzer, the number one power at sea is the sea as demonstrated so beautifully by this film, seafarers never forget that. I spent 23 years at sea, it can be beautiful, awe inspiring and occasionally frightening but the first thing you learn is to never turn your back on it. Seafarers always stop what they are doing and change course to go to the aid of a fellow seafarer, it doesn't matter who he is or what nationality.
