LOVE the 3.0. The 4 cyl is cool as hell too but the 6 cyl has a “going out with a bang” feeling

Last year I got a 16 V60 that’s the t6 platinum with the polestar package. It’s definitely not the full polestar like yours, but I can’t wait to see what you do with it! Congrats!

It's funny, since I live in Gothenburg, home town of Volvo. I've seen many V60 Polestars, and all the other Polestar models, including the very rare C30 Polestar. Both in the Polestar exclusive cyan color and in other colors. It's easy to forget how rare these cars actually are. It's awesome to see that people appreciate these cars all around the world!

i didn’t know anything about these before this video but i’m glad i watched it. really made me appreciate this generation volvo much more. I never realized how rare they were. my 98 v70 t5 with a 5 speed is one of only 127 in 98 and 228 in total imported to the united states from 98-99. i believe these are some of the rarest volvos here in the states and there’s a few super rare unicorns as well like 850 sportwagons. i’ve seen one ever listed for sale and it apparently is a upgraded suspension package you could get from factory. i cant find almost any info on it though so i don’t know production numbers but based on the lack of knowledge on the internet ab these id consider them to be one of the rarest. but these polestars are right up with them in terms of rarity. great video man!

I love these cars! Summer of 2020 I really tried to get a 2016 but none of them worked out. Maybe for the best, as I got back in a manual car and I realized how much I love having that connection with the car. Add in a V8 and that sounds awesome and a car that is comfy drive and it was a winner.
So stoked to see more of this beauty! I'm hoping to snag the same car in Rebel Blue later this year, so I really want to see how the mods affect things.

Looks killer in this spec, best stock wheels on a Volvo. I’m in NJ too maybe I’ll see you on the road in my 2013 c30 polestar lol always good seeing polestars out there being daily driven ! These cars are really rare I’ve only seen these polestar wagons a few times in NJ usually only see r design trim
Seeing this really makes me regret not going for an S60 polestar I saw for sale about a year ago. Knew I couldn’t afford it and wasn’t in a position to get it but I really should’ve found a way.
My first car was a XC90 Yamaha V8, I’ve rebuilt a 2013 C70 (convertible) with the Polestar optimization software, and I love it

Right now you can buy a 2015 T6 V60 R design, 41k miles, with a Polestar tune in New Zealand for 24k US. Also a 2014 AWD model without P* tune for the same money. Not quite the full on version shown here but still a great car for the money.

P3 S60 Polestar first came out in Australia due to homologlation rulings for the Bathurst race. They tested the the market the year before (2012) with just 50 polestar built units
Used to work at a dealership and there was only 1 of these in the area, same year T6 in the Electric Blue or whatever. That and the silver/attacama 6spd 28,000 mile SR were the unicorns of the shop.
I got a 2014 T6 Polestar and I love it. Sad to see Volvo not making any more cool engines

Almost bought one. At 6'5, I found the front legroom severely lacking and this made the car uncomfortable to drive. Ended up getting 335i instead. Awesome car but not for the long-legged.
I don't have the exact numbers but I think my Volvo S80 V8 might be pretty rare too. Even here in Sweden. Congrats on a really nice car!
Polestar's are a very impressive cars, we got them out here for awhile, the EV's are very cool too, Rj in Oz

Thank you! Oh man I'd love to do that, but there's no manual swap for these cars that I know of. And if there was, it'd be RUINOUSLY expensive to do.

With the exception of the awsome C30 polestar pcp and the S60 polestar concept which don’t really count as production cars and which they sold like 2 of each this is the rarest Volvo to my knowledge

Yeah, we're a bit jealous. The 3.0 is pretty great. A P* tune makes it better (my personal DD). Full P* makes it awesome.
I'm so excited to tun this thing and see some before and after power on the dyno.
I have a 2015.5 R-design XC60 and it's only Polestar-tuned, but I feel the same way about mine!
I have my 2017 for 4 years now and I don't want to change it for anything else!:) The only disadvantage is 2.0L engine, however it's almost impossible to buy 3.0L nowadays.
Congrats! I tried to buy one for months and couldn’t find one but ended up with an R Design. And actually 0-60 on the P* T6 is 4.6seconds, 4.9 is the R Design (w/P* tune).
thats because the real P car has a better turbo then us R Design

Im new to volvos but last year i bought a 15 xc 60 r design polstar from a volvo dealer. T6 awd came with a port of entry paper but is not numbered. Nobody at the dealer was helpful to how many were made. Cant find any information about it.
I think the only contender for a rarer wagon is the SPA V60 Polestar Engineered. I do love the 3.0 T6 though.

I drive a 2016 V60 D6. 5-cyl diesel plus an electric motor. Combined 471 lb.ft of torque...
Would not change it for ay of the new 4-cyl engines.

V60 polestars are the coolest!
I'm not sure if it is rarer than a second generation V70R manual but with roughly 2000 3.0 V60 Polestars in total it is definitely among the rarer Volvo estates

All I could afford was the 2017 s60 t6 r-design platinum awd wagon. Going to polestar tune it, down pipe it, and see if we can't get some more pow pow.
It ain't a polestar, but I'm loving my '01 V70XC with a 5 speed manual! Chipped to 252hp currently, big brakes are going on in a week and then it's time for an OEM turbo upgrade. 5 cylinder sounds are just too good. Unicorn volvos FTW!

I can already tell you that almost no one buys the 2.0 VEA engine, they all go for the good ol 3.0 here in Sweden. 30-35k gets you a nice one here in Sweden

I owned a 2015 V60 Polestar. I put over 124k hard miles on it within the first 3 years of ownership. I had quite a few warranty issues, but Volvo Corporate stepped up and gave me a lifetime warranty. This was my favorite car I’ve owned to date. Sad that someone totaled it while I sat at a red light. Gotta love drunk drivers.

I had no idea it was that rare lol congrats! Im still wondering how they cut 2 seconds off the 0-60 when its stock power is not much more than the v70R. While its also being heavier to.
Thanks Conner! I think it's more like 1 second at most. 0-60 in a Manual V70R is 5.6 seconds. Some reports have them as 6.5 or above, but we'll use the 5.6 as reported from Top Speed. 4.9 is the Polestar. You can easily put that to the updated Haldex AWD system, launch control, wider summer tires, and 6-speed auto gearbox. The V70R is actually around 200 pounds lighter than the Polestar. So if I were to take that out, I'd likely be able to shave 0.2s off.
I thought the 0-60 was in 6's for v70R stock. Also thought the polestar would be heavier
@@AZACKAL It's been tested to get into the 5s with the M66. Several reviews have it as that from many years ago. I think 6s was with the autos in 2004. Polestar is still pretty heavy. Nearly 4000 pounds in a car smaller than the V70R in every proportion. Lots more safety tech and more modern stuff.

I am picking up a 2016 V60 Polestar tomorrow with only 10k kms tomorrow. Your videos have made me sleeplessly excited about receiving it. Got it sight unseen but just wanted to experience that inline-6 twin-turbo. The sound is incredible!

I would like to see a video of the Polestar 2 doing an autocross if yall ever pick one up. I feel like it would be cheating since it would be in the stock car class with Ohlins suspension, AWD and 400+hp electric. Sounds like easy wins to me.
Brakes are actually a mix of brembo and akebono, the same company who makes the brakes for the McLaren P1. Mental to think for an estate car 😂

@@shiftinglanesgarage thanks for replying. I had a 2004 V40 which I loved. Unfortunately after 217,000 miles, there were too many little things that needed doing that were going to add up to too much, so it had to go. I’m thinking a V70R is looking really good to replace it!

I think the rarest model of Volvo wagon is probably the 2005 Volvo V50 T5 AWD 6-speed manual transmission, i think there are probably less 100 (at least in the USA)....I think they only made the 6MT that year, i could be wrong though, they are extremely rare though

I’ve had this for a year and dead reliable. Will be talking about that in the next video actually. The P3 generation of Volvo cars are some of the most reliable they ever made.

F me... it's so good looking its frustrating, with the rear/side view as fountainstarter ♥ Damn those proportions.
The 5 & 6 Clyinder engines are so much better, more torque, wider range, more driveable. Try driving a loaded car over long distance, against a headwind then a steep high speed hill such as on the autobahn or motorway, that's just one of many scenarios when the big engines are superb.

Here's hoping! It's 13.5 stock. I reckon I can get it into the low 12s with the right conditions and mods. Just need to save up for them and then it's on.
What happened to the 245 you would get tuned by some other guys? Are you still driving your tuned V70? There is a lot to tell from the past before you disappeared. What you started with then, new cars, I personally thought was completely uninteresting. Hope the new channel offers something more special. Good luck with everything. 👍😎
