    Can’t wait for the performance mods and dyno. I agree with you the new SPA Volvos are soo good interior and also exterior. The 4 cylinder supercharger and turbo engine (T6 now)has a ton of potential.

    V60 2015.5 R-Design here - I thought I had an issue with the bluetooth, but it turns out the problem was I had the usb cable into my phone and also bluetooth connected, this is what caused the connectivity issue. I only use the bluetooth and no issues staying connected now. Also my sensus doesn't have any issue turning off like you do, thats super odd. The wagon does feel a little small. I do second guess myself if I should have gotten the V70 or the XC60. My ride quality is okay - Id like to upgrade the suspension to make it a little softer. Agreed on the interior. Its nice, but the newer interiors is crazy nice.

    I’m 6’ and have a 2018 v60 P* - no issues with two reversed toddler seats. Get a Diono Radium series and the fit is fine. Clek, rava etc are beefy seats. Just do your research and you will have a perfect fit.

    I've only had mine for 2 weeks, but the Bluetooth connection with my cell phone (Samsung Galaxy A53) works perfectly.
    Could an update solve the problem?
    As far as I know the vehicles, Volvos have always been good highway vehicles.

    Are you planning on adjusting the dampers at some point? I know it's a little tricky to do yourself, but I'd love to know how much of a difference it could make. Could it help the ride quality around town to go softer? Does it corner better at the hardest setting? Awesome video! I'm excited to find out what color you're thinking for the wrap..

    • @shiftinglanesgarage
      @shiftinglanesgarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes! I want to adjust them prior to the baseline runs at the strip and track. But Adjusting those should help a bit, but it won't make up for the fact that the springs are 80% stiffer than the R-design. That's the biggest thing.
      Not sure on the wrap! Maybe something wild.

    Sold mine 6 months ago. Number 7 of 25 in South Africa. Black accents, 20' shells, wings, spoiler in black. Did the downpipe, intake, tune. 420bhp to the wheels. Loved her. Wrecked the Germans when it was less than perfect weather. Ran next to them in the dry until 100. Sold it for more than I had into it. Won't buy another die to the 2.0 morotorium. 3rd best car I've ever owned die to 2 x Lexi before it but 2nd most fun after my JKU Wrangler with everything possible added to it

    Sometimes when the headlights are getting closer to failing they flash "bulb out" intermittently it's occurring on my 06XC70 currently so I know it's coming.

  • @Mirror1973
    @Mirror1973 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    The remote start on Volvo is exactly like you stated how it happens to you, that you start it and as soon as you open the door it shuts off, it is not a mistake, Volvo does it that way for safety purposes, so the remote start is only for either cooling or heating the interior before you get n, not for get in a drive off like with other manufacturers 🤷🏻‍♂️

    • @shiftinglanesgarage
      @shiftinglanesgarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Right, that's not the issue. The issue is when the car shuts off, then I turn it back on I see a "bulb out" warning on the center screen. No bulbs are out. Also, the new SPA Volvos stay on during remote start.

    Ride quality is my biggest complaint and the 6 speed automatic is just ok. Rear legroom isn't great but I don't have any little ones so its fine. Never had any issues with Sensus turning off by itself or with Volvo on call. The 3G thing sucks and the $350 to upgrade plus 1hr labor isn't cool

    • @Becausefamilycar
      @Becausefamilycar 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Just change the springs to cobra or heico (if they do them) they lower the car and aren’t as harsh. Then dial the ohlins back to 17 or 18.
      I have the newer version and the springs aren’t as stiff but still have ohlins well above the so called “comfort” setting. Car rides better than an Audi or bmw and handles great.

    I saw one review that said that there's a boomy tire noise when cruising on the highway. Have you experienced this at all?

    • @shiftinglanesgarage
      @shiftinglanesgarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's honestly not that bad. You do get more highway noise from this car because you're on 20" wheels in a small wagon. Road noise is just part of the game. However, I don't feel it's that bad and a slightly louder stereo volume solves it easily.

  • @rieses88

    Does this car have a trailer hitch harness installed? I know in my P1 after I spliced in a trailer harness it seemed like the lights weren't getting enough voltage to the lights causing the computer to trip the bulb warning (from what I can tell)

    • @shiftinglanesgarage
      @shiftinglanesgarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There's no trailer hitch or harness. Apparently to get one on here you need to cut the rear bumper. Hard pass, lol.

  • @dougmael

    Final note - a V60 is most definitely NOT “midsized” by any stretch of the term. I think of mine as a just slightly larger than compact hatchback, rather than a wagon or “estate” car.

  • @Becausefamilycar
    @Becausefamilycar 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I have a 2021 polestar V60 and the only thing I wish it had was 5 cylinder or 6 instead of the 4 pot.
    The ride is much better than the old ones, looks better, drives better, much more economical, bigger but not much to tune. The 2022 has a good power bump but weighs more so no quicker.
    The old T6 let’s be honest is good for 500bhp at the wheels because the polestar s60 had that from factory but only made 15 and they where ££££. The original road cars are all in Australia I think 50 heico polestar S60s. There are a good few with 425+ at the wheels and they haven’t had the cranks changed etc.
    Love the 6cylinders for tuning options, and much less to go wrong.
    Mine I now can get to over 500bhp, a guy in Finland has XC90 with 550+ and it’s no blown up yet 💪🤔

    • @v60polestar88
      @v60polestar88 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      2021 isn't really a true Polestar either. The 2015-2018 are the last of the real Polestar vehicles

    • @Becausefamilycar
      @Becausefamilycar 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@v60polestar88
      True to a point.
      Volvo bought the polestar performance division and trademarks but didn’t buy the racing division. The racing division is called now called cyan and is the racing partner of geely group.
      The only true polestar cars have 500bhp and they only made 15, at least one or two of those at cyan HQ so 13 or 14 released and cost €250,000.
      The polestar cars you refer to as true have the same mods as those after 2018, except the exhaust which is only tips now.

    Are you going to get the silicone hoses for it before the tune?

    • @shiftinglanesgarage
      @shiftinglanesgarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Probably not. I'll likely go DP and tune first, then do the hoses with the next round with the intercooler, manifold, and intake. After that, we'll see what's next.

    • @willriley1619
      @willriley1619 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@shiftinglanesgarage Yeah its a tough decision to make because the hoses will come with the intercooler kit and that is just more money. Friend of mine blew up his T6 after the rubber hose expanded and slipped off the charge pipe. He didnt have a Hilton tune or anything though just the TDI tuning box or whatever its called so maybe that could have contributed to the blown engine. Not sure but it was an expensive problem so be careful.

    The electronics on virtually ALL Volvos are really “wonky”, based on my experience with them (I have owned 4 Volvos since 2004 and currently drive a 2017 V60 Polestar - “dual charged” 4-cylinder engines suck compared with inline sixes!) I have the EXACT same issues with my 2017 Polestar as you have with yours.
