Kind of hard to follow a 200 m drag race when you edit it with 12 cuts. Just show the race. It's only a few seconds long.

Its an entertaining commercial for Volvo, for sure. I would very much enjoy driving the race car, and trying to learn as much as possible from Frederik.
You wouldn’t much enjoy the street car, the interiors are quite bad pre 2018, I work for a Volvo dealer and I honestly don’t know how they sold any cars before 2018 lol

@@thegoldentheory4383 that's not true at all imo. My parents have a 2014 XC60 and the interior is amazing, better than an Audi and a BMW we had before it.

As a owner of a 2017 v60 p* i can confirm it's hard to drive slow... the dam cam keeps asking for drive it like you stole it.

4:31 I find it hilarious the way this professional driver rocks himself forward and backward in an attempt to help the car along.. then leans his body forward to decrease drag 🤣 I've caught myself doing this in drag races before. Priceless!
I absolutely love my 2011 Volvo S60 T6 AWD. Funny thing is that down here in Oklahoma it flooded a few days ago and I had to drive home through some serious flowing water that was a few inches deep. Luckily my bad boy pressed through it and I was very impressed by its capability. Volvo for life!
Those in the know have always taken Volvo seriously when it comes to fast cars. The 2.5 turbo in the Focus ST and RS came from the Volvo V70 range (the XC70 being the best of those with awd and that 2.5 turbo engine). And let's not forget the epic 850R 👌🏻

I love Volvo.
My dad had a 1965 442 when I was a child. That car was far beyond stock. You could still see the shifter knuckle on the steering column. Any way, the car got smashed. And the next thing my dad parked in the yard was an 81 Volvo 240. I couldn't understand how my dad went from such a beast to what I thought was last rabbit. He worked on that Coco and the next 4 Volvo's till I had such a respect gained for them. That the thought of muscle cars was just sigh. Great cars.

There's NO COUSIN at all, between those two cars the similarities stops at headlights and badge on the front 😂. Not even engine position isn't the same, not suspension design, not transmission, not shell, not absolutely NOTHING except rear and headlights😂😂

You cant take a bad driver with a 1000 hp car with full traction and get beat by a good driver in a 500 hp car.

I would have loved to have seen Jonny do a lap in the Volvo S60 polestar just to compare his time in the race car. Which I suspect he did off-camera.
I ride a motorcycle designed for a the track. It’s a total PIG when trying to go slow but smooth and soft when you ride it really hard.

How can he have both a clutch and gearflippers on the steering wheel?
It's a real racing gearbox. You only need the clutch to get going and to stop. The gears are engaged pneumatically and to shift, load is taken away by cutting out the ignition for a split second. None of that overweight dual clutch nonsense going on here.

Skill will win, I say that driving a stock Cuore being awfully fast compared to all the beefed up cars nowadays. It is only 1.0L. You better run son when I am behind you..

No it's a segment from a car show Fifth Gear. Like any car show the manufacturers loan the cars so obviously it comes across like an advertisement.
@@eyesodd That doesn't mean it's not essentially still a commercial. The fact that they haven't mentioned even a single competitor in any of their commentary is clear evidence of this. If it were a proper segment, they would have compared the s60 against other similarly priced (or performing) vehicles.
@@schmiggy To me it's no different to them testing something like a diesel BMW 3 series, then going "but you don't want that you want this M3 version". Fifth gear which this is from is pretty good, if they don't like a car in the car testing section they will say so.
